Their menu's offer delicious combinations of fillings so there is usually something that suits everyone's taste. The food is all of a healthy nature and even their burgers are great quality. I ordered a burger (freshly cooked in a couple of minutes) with raw onions and mayonnaise for just £2 which was served in a large plain white bun; that definitely filled me and I would go back again whenever I'm in need of a convenient lunch. Since they boast such a wide variety of ingredients such as various pre-cooked meats, sliced salads and other condiments, the choice is really yours. In addition, they sell jacket potatoes which sound mouth-watering and tempting (especially on a cold day)! Clarke's Richmond Deli is much better than your average sandwich bar. Plus, the lovely aromas that are emitted make you want to go even more.

If that could be a motto or brand slogan for a deli - sorry butty shop! - then that might be a good one for Clarke's. It seems to denegrate them some what but this succint description of a fine sandwich emporium is meant entirely in the best possible way. There seems to be little mucking about with things like rocket - which I hate, it is horrible no matter how many chefs and foodies use it these days, it's a weed! - Clarke's serve good, some might say traditional sandwiches, in a straightforward manner like roast beef, ham - just ham nowt fancy done to it - and various chickens - coronation and tikka basically - and all at very cheap prices - usually below £3 - for a good size butty.

The first thing that struck me on my first ever visit to the snack takeaway, was the size of their burgers and how cheap they were. For just £1, you could buy a double cheeseburger with a combination of salad and condiments of your choice. These days the price may have increased slightly but you are definitely going to be full after you have eaten about a 1/2 pounder burger! The burger meat is perhaps not the highest of quality but if you're not health conscious, I guess it doesn't matter even though how terrible it sounds! Not to fear, they do have other foods on offer like sandwiches you can opt for.

I'd deffo choose a sandwich over a burger as the look of them sizzling away on the grill isn't very appealing to me. Don't let that put you off though, it's all freshly prepared and they have a great selection of fillings and if you're just wanting a quick snack then this is the place, but if you want a decent sarnie you gotta get there early or the best ones will have gone! Food arrived as planned, was laid out with nice quality disposable plates, cutlery and plenty of napkins too. Beautiful tender beef scouse served with beetroot and crusty bread was definiterly a good choice for a chilly rainy day. And for those who preferred a cold buffet or a mixture of both, we had ordered a selection of the most gorgeous sandwiches and wraps, incredible pork pies and sausage rolls, beautiful Greek salad and gorgeous cheese cakes. There was so much to choose from on Marc's menu but we went a bit traditional!! Concerned we were running out and the food was so good, and with no sign of anybody leaving early we called Marc who arranged for more sandwiches and wraps to be delivered so that family and friends could graze throughouit the afternoon. A good decision. The food definitely contributed to an afternoon of sharing happy memories of my brother Paul. He would have been first in the queue for the buffet! Having such good food was a tribute to him! Incredible quality, fresh ingredients, very reasonably priced.Great service Definitely the best outside caterer we have ever had in Formby!

So it's a little more than you'd pay elsewhere, who cares - this is the good stuff; pure sandwich goodness, uncut (or cut at your preference). All the usual suspects are here - tuna mayo, roast beef - served on sliced granary, barm cake or in baguette. Along with crisps, cartons of Ribena and little pre-packed cakes and muffins. Oh and fruit, but nobody's in here for fruit. They even have a little van they do deliveries in and it's always been a dream of my friends and I to have an order one day large enough to qualify for delivery. Some would say that is a terrible and frankly easily achievable dream, but is it? Is it really?
