Their menu's offer delicious combinations of fillings so there is usually something that suits everyone's taste. The food is all of a healthy nature and even their burgers are great quality. I ordered a burger (freshly cooked in a couple of minutes) with raw onions and mayonnaise for just £2 which was served in a large plain white bun; that definitely filled me and I would go back again whenever I'm in need of a convenient lunch. Since they boast such a wide variety of ingredients such as various pre-cooked meats, sliced salads and other condiments, the choice is really yours. In addition, they sell jacket potatoes which sound mouth-watering and tempting (especially on a cold day)! Clarke's Richmond Deli is much better than your average sandwich bar. Plus, the lovely aromas that are emitted make you want to go even more.

If that could be a motto or brand slogan for a deli - sorry butty shop! - then that might be a good one for Clarke's. It seems to denegrate them some what but this succint description of a fine sandwich emporium is meant entirely in the best possible way. There seems to be little mucking about with things like rocket - which I hate, it is horrible no matter how many chefs and foodies use it these days, it's a weed! - Clarke's serve good, some might say traditional sandwiches, in a straightforward manner like roast beef, ham - just ham nowt fancy done to it - and various chickens - coronation and tikka basically - and all at very cheap prices - usually below £3 - for a good size butty.

Friendly staff here and my friend always tries to sneak her food in to Kelly's pub over the road. Did I mention they have cans of Rio here? I don't know how I haven't come across it before, but I purchased my first one here. Tropical heaven in a can. If you're in need of sandwich inspiration then you've come to the right place!

This place offers burgers, rolls, burger meals, loads of sandwiches, a selection of breakfasts and breakfast barms, a great range of pastas and salads and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. What more could you want? It's convenient for students etc as its located band on the middle of Smithdown Road, and it's always busy so the food is guaranteed to be fresh. I got myself a coronation chicken sandwich and it was delicious, the sauce was just right and not too creamy as it is in some places that I've scoffed in. I think it cost just under £2.00 which is a bargain for a fresh sandwich. Therefore I decree that I would fully recommend this little takeaway to anybody who likes to eat!

The first thing that struck me on my first ever visit to the snack takeaway, was the size of their burgers and how cheap they were. For just £1, you could buy a double cheeseburger with a combination of salad and condiments of your choice. These days the price may have increased slightly but you are definitely going to be full after you have eaten about a 1/2 pounder burger! The burger meat is perhaps not the highest of quality but if you're not health conscious, I guess it doesn't matter even though how terrible it sounds! Not to fear, they do have other foods on offer like sandwiches you can opt for.

I'd deffo choose a sandwich over a burger as the look of them sizzling away on the grill isn't very appealing to me. Don't let that put you off though, it's all freshly prepared and they have a great selection of fillings and if you're just wanting a quick snack then this is the place, but if you want a decent sarnie you gotta get there early or the best ones will have gone!
