The Rumblin' Tum is one of a number of 'greasy spoon' type cafes in Rhyl town centre. When I say 'greasy spoon' I'm not implying there's anything greasy there but you will find mismatched cutlery, plastic tableclothes and a menu on which pretty much every option includes chips or toast. You'll also find excellent value for your money.
I recently visited for the first time and opted for the all-day breakfast. This is in fact the 'small' breakfast from the menu and comprises bacon, sausage, black pudding, fried egg, beans or tomato and fried bread. It also comes with toast and a decent sized cup of either tea or coffee, all for a reasonable £2.95. I found it well cooked (I especially enjoyed the bacon which was a little overdone, just how I like it) and more than filling.
There are a range of various sized breakfasts on the menu including a 'greedy boy' breakfast for £9.95, which I assume is enough to feed an entire family. In addition you'll find other 'traditional' cooked meals such as sausage, egg and chips as well as sandwiches. Tea and coffee cost 50p a cup (unless you order the all-day breakfast in which case they're included in the price).
The service was also friendly and efficient and I wasn't kept waiting too long for the food to arrive.
If you're looking for a filling, no thrills, value for money meal in Rhyl I can certainly recommend the Rumblin' Tum. read more
