Very disappointed with the customer service at the McDonald's on Main Street in Lapeer today. We…read moreordered through the McDonald's app, and our Happy Meal was supposed to come with a shake. When we asked about it, the employee immediately told us it "didn't show that" and basically accused us of lying. We then showed the order confirmation from the app, and after that, we had to show the full order details proving the shake was included before they finally gave it to us. Mistakes happen, but accusing customers of being dishonest instead of simply checking the order properly is frustrating and unnecessary. The situation could have been handled much more professionally.

Once to the window it wasn't any better when I said hello with a big smile and thank you. Get home and the first bite of French fries was disgusting and OLD. Bit into my potato cake that was burnt and also old. I didn't even want to try anything else and had to drive back up for refund which Jenna the manager was incredibly dismissive. Never said sorry barely mumbled yes when I asked if she was the manager and handed my money back. No sorry, not even looked at me. Horrible service.

She calls a manager who ignore her for 5 minutes, so I tell her just give me my $4 so my food doesn't get cold.10 minutes later I have manager's attention. He tells me if I take my $4 he will call police. I called them for him. Police come out with food and my $32 for the food. I give him the money back less my $4 dollars and go home to my family to eat. Turns out I should have kept the money. Not sure what they did to my chicken but I can't eat it. The manager I spoke with was extremely dirty and not very presentable for a manager of KFC. Long greasy hair and long beard, no hair net (disgusting) Long story short this JFC is ill managed and filthy people are the managers.

Full disclosure: this was my first visit to a Checkers so I have nothing to compare it to. The menu…read morehas nearly everyone it and prices were reasonable, although upcharge for meal seemed a bit high. The burger was nothing special. I disliked the chile dog: the stringy limp onions did not help the hot dog meat, and the chilly was basically party. I actually disliked the fries a lot: I was grateful the size of the small only had 20 of them, as I hate wasting food. They were saturated throughout with grease which dripped off the outside which had some kind of breading with black pepper or something else in it. The fountain Minute Maid lemonade was, fortunately, what it was supposed to be. Service was fast and friendly. Needless to say, I won't go to another Checkers again, in case this is the typical food.
