The Dubai Chocolate cookie was rich, deeply chocolatey, and just melted in my mouth. I also had a peanut butter cookie with a cheesecake filling that was absolutely delicious. Every cookie was fresh, soft, and packed with flavor. The shop itself is adorable. They serve ice cream, sell dessert-scented candles that look just like the real thing, and have benches out front under a tree where you can sit and enjoy your treats while taking in Lapeer's charming downtown. I love that the area is filled with locally owned businesses instead of chain stores. The staff was friendly, and they even have a punch card rewards program, which is a nice bonus. The house-made ranch, however, was excellent and paired well with the fries. For three burgers, one appetizer, three pops, and about a $100 bill, I expected the food to wow me a little more. It wasn't bad by any means, I just wasn't as impressed as I expected based on all the rave reviews. If the food had a little more seasoning and the egg rolls, cheese sauce, and overall execution were improved, I'd enjoy it much more. I'd still give it another try, especially for the atmosphere, location, and outstanding service.
