    LeRoy Katie And Caitlin D.

LeRoy: I had the wonderful opportunity to sit on the sunshine along the babbling brook in Ortonville MI, eating coney dogs for lunch. The coney dogs were done very well. I asked for them burnt and they were. The chili was excellent! Then I had some french fries with it that were very good. I added a nice large diet A&W root beer. And to top it all off, homemade chocolate chip cookies from Aunt Sue and a loaf or Artisan bread from Katie-I'll tell ya how that is next week. Amen!!! Katie: I had to try a coney dog, because after all, I am a coney connoisseur. The bun was soft and the chili was tasty. It does not come with mustard on it, which in my opinion is a must, so I added it. I topped it off with a black cow which is always part of my order when I come to A&W! Sue: Brought her own lunch to be healthy, but maybe would've tried the Incredible Burger (a vegan option). Caitlin: She might've tried the burger or gotten crazy, and tried the Incredible burger!!

This is the only A&W I will eat at, been eating here for over 30 yrs! The food is always good and fresh and never been wrong! I do believe this is due to great management at this facility the only way it could be better is if Michigan was warm year round. Thank you A&W for being one of the best in Ortonville Michigan.

He said "this is obviously your first visit?" which cracked us up. He explained the menu in detail, I had already done so after seeing a facebook post about them but my Fiancé had questions, he answered all of them, so we placed our order and headed back to our car with our pup to wait for the meals. We got a plain dog with mustard and a bag of chips, 2 chili dogs with onions, a pup hotdog for our little man Diego, a root beer and a root beer float. I must say, we all loved our hotdogs. The chili dogs were the best I have had since leaving California 14 years ago. Drool worthy! My fiancé loved her mustard dog, and Diego gives 4 paws for his plain dog. The root beer and float! OMG! Seriously?!?! One word only! PHENOMENAL! We will definitely be back, and thank goodness we live a fair distance away, because if they were nearby, they'd get sick of seeing our faces, and I'd be a few pounds heavier than I'd like to be. Thank you for the fantastic first visit. You definitely made us fans!

My wife and…read moreher parents are from Chicago, the home of Portillo's, so when they visit us, we have to go here! We do not normally come to this location but they are all pretty similar. This location is on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also in a very touristy area. They have opened a few locations around Central Florida. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thru. I think their food is best eaten there so its hot and fresh. Inside their decor is a mix of old timey cars and car hops. It reminds me of a restaurant you would find in the 60s. Its fun, the staff are fun, there is music and they also sell beer. I don't think I have ever really seen a fast food restaurant serving beer. Im sure they exist but I cant think of one. This is a fun environment, the staff calls your order out and then when its ready they use very fun slogans to tell you its time, such as "Order 165 it's time to shine" and "Order 173 come and meet me". This is perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money and also get a hot dinner or lunch. There were a lot of families in here eating dinner when we went. It is very touristy at this location, the shopping center it is in, also has a White Castle so just be prepared. There were plenty of parking spots though. Portillo's menu is very simple, they have hot dogs, burgers/chicken sandwiches, salads, bowls and Italian beef. However, they are most known for their Chicago style hot dogs. Their Italian beef is very good, they dip the sandwich in a hot au jus sauce. A Chicago dog has mustard, green relish, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a meal on top of the hot dog. My wife usually orders the Chicago dog with no onions or relish. I usually go for the Italian beef or one of their salads or bowls. I usually get something different each time. This visit, I actually went with the Italian Sausage and Beef combo served on a hoagie bun. This was a great combo and even my wife mentioned how the sausage was really good and something she would probably get next time. Service is always really great. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Someone is always cleaning the tables, everyone says hello, they are just really great with their service. Drinks can be refilled, you just need to go to the counter if they do not have their own self service machine. I would definitely recommend this chain. The food is great, service fantastic and a fun vibe inside. ACES!

This location is located on 535 very close to SeaWorld, and also very touristy. But we came here for a Yelp event and it is just as fantastic as other locations! The restaurant itself, has indoor and outdoor seating, along with a drive thru. The inside is a mixture of cars and tires meet tourists meet your old-fashioned car hops. It is a very fun environment. Music is on, everyone is friendly, and they are very funny calling out your numbers. Such as "Order 252 it's time to meet you" or "Order 365 it's time to shine". It's a fun place and perfect for families not looking to spend a ton of money. The food is pretty much hot dogs and burgers/chicken sandwiches, but they are known for their hot dogs, plain and simple. They also offer other options such as chicken, fish, burgers, salads and bowls and Italian beef. The Italian beef is fantastic, it gets dipped in a hot au jus sauce, but you can also ask for no dip as well. Their bowls are not like a rice bowl, it is their beef or sausage minus the bread. This is what my husband usually orders, and he loves it. I usually go for the Italian beef or the classic Chicago dog. A Chicago dog has mustard, the brightest green relish you have ever seen, celery salt, tomatoes, onions, a pickle and peppers sandwiched on the hot dog. This is a big dog! This can be customized any way you want it, remove something add something, it is how you want it. This visit I did order the Chicago dog with no relish or onions. It's how I prefer it. My husband ordered something new, he tried the Italian Sausage and Beef combo which was served on a hoagie bun. The sausage was actually really so good! I think I found a new favorite item, I will be getting the sausage next time. The service is really great too, everyone is always friendly. They will give you refills; they call out your number really fun and it's just a great place. They read your order back when you order which I also really like. It is quick service, fast food whatever you want to call it, but they do make it an experience. I would definitely recommend this chain. This is new to Orlando, probably within the last couple years, but it brings a touch of the north down here! I love it! It is loud so kids can be loud. It is not super expensive so its a good meal for the family. There are a lot of items so there should be something for everyone. The only difference is the Portillo's in Chicago also have a huge pasta section which I miss. Their pasta was good! I would love to see it here.

It's a national fast-casual restaurant that has spread to Michigan with this first franchise in Canton. The inside was set up like a sports bar with multiple flat screens, a self-serve tap system, and even a couple of stalls for axe throwing. You order at the service counter and take a number to a table so the workers can locate where to bring your food/drink. The menu was a bar food paradise with an emphasis on hot dogs. Ten different "Craveable Dogs" made up most of one menu screen. The second screen showed the salads, sandwiches, bowls, BBQ plates, and desserts. The last screen listed chicken wings, munchies, sides, and customer favs. I am a fan of barbeque, but something about the number of hot dog varieties drew me to order a couple of them for my meal. Most were priced between $6.95 and $7.95 each which was expensive for the local market. I picked the initial two on the list which were a Chili Cheese Dog and a Chicago Dog. The first was an all-beef frank topped with chili and cheddar cheese as described by its name. Metro Detroit is known for coney dogs. This version was like a bad marriage between a coney and a chili dog from Cincinnati. The cheddar cheese was applied in large shreds and not melted well at all. The second was only slightly better in terms of replicating a city's iconic food staple. The all-beef frank was dressed with diced onion and tomato, relish, sport peppers, and yellow mustard. No poppy seed bun was used, and there was no pickle spear included. Both are key components of a Chicago Dog. Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ is supposed to open a location in my hometown shortly. Based on what I experienced here, the food quality and prices were at a two star level. I added one star to my rating because of the spacious seating arrangement and cool features like the axe throwing and beer wall.

I got the brisket mac and cheese which had little flavor and the brisket was chewy. The mac and cheese was just okay and needed the BBQ sauce to elevate it a bit. I also got a Chicago style dog, which I didn't post a pic of because it looked bad from a presentation standpoint. If I wanna watch a game with a group of friends I would definitely consider it an option as it has a bar and TVs all around. Don't come here expecting authentic BBQ though.

This is a super cute spot that specializes in smoked meat and sausages... yes please. We ordered at the counter and the employees were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions. I got the Michigan asparagus, onion, and cheddar brat, and Nate got the currywurst. We also got a cup of chili to share. We got a buzzer for our order and then sat down in the heated outdoor space. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids.
