Malik the manager and another gal were awesome. My wife originally Doordashed the order and the dasher stole the order forcing her to go out in 30 degree weather with a sick baby to get the food. I ordered a BK Bacon and Swiss Cheese Royal Crispy Chicken through the drive though, and when I got to the window, the guy at the window opened the window panes and made me wait to collect my money while he continued his conversation with his co-worker. A conversation that was rather unimportant about some chick. No greeting, he was just standing there flapping his gums while I waited to hear my total again and hand him the money. Ok, at the end of the day I don't really care if someone doesn't greet me. Common courtesy aside, it's whatever. The guy took my money, continued his conversation, barely acknowledged me, and didn't even give me a receipt (I track my cash expenses and now can't tell you how much this debacle cost me), but he did give me ranch. Now, the guy didn't make my burger so I can't fault him for the fact that my sandwich is missing the lettuce and tomatoes, which I happen to very much enjoy on a sandwich. But I could probably point out a systemic failure of leadership that would contribute to people not paying attention to detail. Looking at the reviews here, it's clear that the there is a management and training gap. If Miss Chatty here had been paying attention to his job instead of gossiping like school girls, then maybe they'd all be paying attention and incidents, reviews like this, wouldn't be the status quo. read more

Nothing wrong with this BK! Standard cleanliness, super-friendly service, and the same ol grub you'd find at any location. Bathrooms are clean. This one was a godsend for us after hours of driving - the King's Meal gets you 2 burgers of your choice, fries, and a Coke for less than $4. Pretty solid. The day of the earthquake and hours after the earthquake. I drove by and saw people inside, door open, and people in the drive-through. so I figured I would stop and get lunch. When I pulled up to the drive-through microphone It said, "we are closed, we are closed, we are closed." I started to back out (I couldn't go forward because others were picking up their orders). It said it again! Then a worker says to me, (from the sidewalk) "we are closed, you're setting yourself up for failure. We are closed." I said, what do you mean I'm setting myself up for failure? You look like you are open. He said, "No, we are not open." You're setting yourself up for failure. So after presenting a nice choice word to him, he said a few choice words back and said that he had been out there several times already. I said if you were out here several times already, why didn't you set the cones up that you have in your hand right now the first time, because it looks like you are open. Seems you are the one setting me and others for failure. I am just beyond myself. What poor customer service. I won't be going there ever again. I didn't catch his name, but he is a skiny African American guy. Don't expect good service from him. I really hope he's not in management there. My first experience at this location was June 2004. After a long day of moving into my new house, I just wanted to have a Whopper with Cheese like I used to have in my previous town. A quick trip through the drive-thru and I was home with food for the whole family. Upon first the first bite of my Whopper with Cheese I knew something was wrong. I opened it up and inside it was old lettuce and a crumpled up paper wrapper. By this time of night I was beat so I didn't go back and the house was so new the phone lines were not hooked up yet. Little did I know this was an omen for the future. I have visited this location many times over the years as there is little choice of restaurants in this small town. The service is usually nice, but the results of the order are typically long waits (10+ minutes for a burger & fries) and less than a 50/50 chance of getting the food made correctly. read more

Complete DISASTER! It's sad whats happened to this restaurant over the years. The restaurant is dirty, they're understaffed, the poor employees clearly don't have enough training, and I'm not sure if they ever have a manager. The young lady that usually takes orders in the drive through is so rude, no greeting, no have a good day, she hands things through the window without saying a word, and that is clearly an acceptable standard of service here! Though I waited in the drive through seemingly forever, when I finally received my chicken sandwich it was old. I am not kidding, it smelled like a bathroom in the dining area, there were flies flying around, the counters were dirty, the floors were dirty, the drink station was a mess, and there wasn't a customer in sight. The poor girl at the drive through window acknowledged me after several minutes and then told me that she didn't think my sandwich was old, but agreed to have another one made. Fortuna BK in Fortuna seems to be getting worse every visit. We go less and less every year... The evening service was such a bad joke that nobody laughed. The milkshake machine seems to be down ANY time there is 3 cars or more. I couldn't be more disappointed in the costumer service than the way we were talked at tonight. I cannot even say how I really feel without lowering myself to the level we received tonight. Took about three tries to get our order right. The toasted sourdough bread burger I ordered was not toasted at all and just ended up being a soggy bread burger. Even though the staff were friendly, I was too worried that it would have been even more trouble to try to exchange it so I just ate it. When we pulled up to the window for our food the person taking our money said one word to us "16-oh-five" then turned her back on us until the food was ready, handing it to us, still saying nothing. Had to stop here driving through fortuna because we were in a hurry and starving.
