Well, I came to Yelp and Frankie V's popped up. Crazy thing, we do our grocery shopping across the street from Frankie V's! So we had passed it many times. We were warmly greeted by the bartender Natalie. She was awesome! It was full at the bar, Sunday Night Football so totally understandable. We sat in the booth. The booth was comfy and cozy. It's a cool spot, total "Cheers" vibe. We had our mind on fish sandwiches but the unassuming owner, Martina came by and greeted us. Then she gave us the rundown on what was the best items. EVERYTHING here is homemade, made from scratch! Loved that! She sold us on the special, 8pc chicken (the whole chicken), fries and an XL 1-topping pizza for $39.00. Well we got it and boy that was THEE BEST fried chicken I have had in YEARS. I mean YEARS! Literally fresh and dripping hot juices everywhere! It was seasoned to perfection! So good! The pizza was INCREDIBLE! It was a great crust and the flavor was amazing! The fries were good! Home cut, I could tell! We delighted in our meal! We look forward to returning soon and trying the fish!

The poor manager had to call someone to translate because the employees can't or won't communicate with the manager in English when the manager is trying to figure out what happened. When the fifth employee finally noticed I was there, I was asked to place my order using the screen. I did. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. Then a drive through customer came in because her order was made wrong. The guy making the food (Juan Angel?) said in Spanish that he made what was on the screen. The customer replied in Spanish that the screen had her correct order. Meanwhile I was still waiting for two tacos. I finally got my order after the drive through customer clapped back in Spanish. To anyone in charge of this location: do everyone a favor and get rid of Juan Angel. He's a creepy dude who just peeks into the dining room every few seconds and is messing up orders so badly that this store has to throw food away.

One time they didn't have the special bread or the cheese for the nationally-advertised special. The impression I got was not that they were out of those items, but they weren't going to have them at all. There was a sign on the window for that item. And they had the meat. 2. One time they were short on the toppings -- no pepper jack cheese, and some of the veggie offerings. 3. Today -- same as #2, and some of the toppings looked quite a bit less than fresh. The green peppers were brownish-yellow and probably were bad when they went into the bin. Same with the pickles and the black olives. 4. And....today. They didn't make what was ordered. I asked for ham. They made turkey. I know --I should have caught the mistake then and there, but I got distracted when the sandwich maker started making the sandwich and didn't follow her every step of the way. Looks like she got distracted too. How hard is it to remember "ham" literally from one second to the next, especially after she asked me and I told her a second time? I have been going there for years. I won't be back.

Please excuse my French but that is exactly what he said. then another guest walks in and appears to be in a city uniform and a girl from behind the counter opens her door and says hello and as well asks her what she needs and goes back behind the counter without ringing the order up. then the same guy who was cussing comes out and says hello and makes sure he confirms what she needs and goes back behind the counter and doesn't ring her up either. after 15 minutes of waiting I get my food and was walking out and I was on the phone trying to contact Popeyes customer service line and he gives me the up and down stare. absolutely no professionalism what so ever. if they are going to cuss and not ring people up maybe they need to be the only people in the store

What happened to Arnie's Dog House is seriously disappointing…read more This was once one of the greatest hot dog stands in Northwest Indiana, and unfortunately, since being purchased by Luke Oil, it feels like almost everything that made Arnie's special has been taken away. First, they stopped using Vienna Beef for the hot dogs and sausages. Then they completely changed the chili, which now tastes like vinegary tomato paste instead of the classic chili people loved. And the fries? The great old fries have been replaced with skinny, limp, tasteless, greasy fries that are a major downgrade. They even got rid of the classic brown paper bag and replaced it with a sterile white one. It sounds like a small thing, but those little details were part of what made Arnie's feel like Arnie's. Unfortunately, this isn't just a case of a few things changing - the entire experience has been changed for the worse. If you're going to keep the Arnie's Dog House name, you should keep what made Arnie's Dog House great. Really, really sad to see what happened to such a beloved, longtime Northwest Indiana institution. This isn't the Arnie's Dog House I remember, and it's a shame.
