Cheeseburger with bacon, boss pepper fries and a strawberry shake.
    Janye A.

The American in me (which is roughly 50%) bloody loved this place. The burger is as a burger should be, a little greasy, the meat a teensy bit burnt around the edges but still juicy, a nice soft bun, and not too big. Very classic American, none of this fancy gourmet burger rubbish that's huge in Adelaide at the moment. I loved the whole In-N-Out copycat thing, with the 'secret' menu and the cheese fries and the red baskets. I feel a tad sick right now having only just finished cramming the last of my fries in but who are we kidding, this isn't a healthy meal. American food done very realistically in my opinion! Well worth checking out.

Friday night, takeaway. The orders took a while to come, I think it was a 15min wait. Ordered the cheeseburger combo, my friend and I changed the fries to the special fries and the soda pop to shakes (cookies and cream, and chocpeanut). The shakes were passable. The beef patties were too overcooked unfortunately. Fries were pretty good. But overall the burger was indeed close to the in-n-out burger. Which reminds me of the numerous in-n-out burgers I had Diner type interior which added to the burger place vibe.

I was so excited for this place to open, given I drove past it tonnes of times whilst everything was being installed/set up. Since then I've been heaps of times. My first visit was a bit dodgy, as they'd run out of fries. But that was on opening night, so it was totally understandable, and we weren't put off at all! All subsequent visits have been fantastic. The service is always decent, and their uniforms are so cute! I like being able to see the burger get put together too. The burger menu is fairly limited for veg*ns, and for people who don't like beef. But the burgers they do are really really tasty! It's kind of like going to a HJs, but not feeling gross when you're done. And the fries are delicious, especially with toppings! The decor is '50s diner style, and is one of the main reasons I love this place so much! Sitting in a booth eating a cheeseburger on a date is lovely, especially if you're not looking for a super upmarket location. I'm still so glad a decent burger joint popped up near me!

Our waitress wasn't, great at all. We were seated and she left and that was the last time we say if her. We then had to ask a bartender to help us with ordering and then the chef gave us our food. The pricing is high, but the food was worth it, I could only eat half my burger, which was served with French fries, onion rings and an amazing jack Daniels sauce which I drank, it was that good. They even offer, take away for the food you're not able to eat while dinning. Which was amazing for me because I wasn't going to leave a $23.95 burger at the restaurant, I was glad you had that option. Food amazing, Service poor Would tell all my friends and family about this great burger spot !

What we ordered: Jack Daniel's platter (forgot the exact…read morename) consisting of beef ribs, steak and shrimp with sidings of vegetables, onion rings and chips. For the drinks, hubby ordered a milkshake and I went for orange juice. The verdict: The first thing that stand out for me is the chips. It's salty but not the usual boring bland or too salty taste in other fastfood. The difference is a big plus for me I like everything in that platter and my hubby enjoyed it as well. But because it's a platter and we shared it, we find the steaks and beef ribs lacking in portion. Maybe we should order a separate meal for that. The only difference I noticed from my previous experience in Friday's is the sauce. The Jack Daniel's sauce here is more barbecuish. The one I've tasted in the past has a balance of barbecue sauce and whiskey. Like the first time I've tried it I can tell that it has a bit of a whiskey but it blended so well with the sauce. That's the only disappointing thing for me coz I loved its unique taste. Customer service: The staffs are helpful, especially the one who assisted us (I think India was her name) coz she seems to be a natural people person.

I absolutely loved the pulled pork, thought it was the winner out of the meats, and it went so well with the apple slaw. The mac n cheese was great, but serving sizes for the sides were a bit small (I ate 4 'serves' of mac n cheese and could easily have eaten more). The potato tots were salty and crispy and tasted great with the blue cheese dipping sauce. I absolutely hate blue cheese, but this sauce was great. The only disappointment for me was the beef brisket. It tasted nice but hadn't been cooked long enough so the fat hadn't broken down properly. Not a huge deal though as I was happy to keep going back to that delicious pulled pork. The staff were really great and the store itself had a really good vibe. If you're thinking of going I have two pieces of advice for you: 1. Book a table! They are really busy so you'll probably miss out if you don't book 2. Go as soon as they open! They only cook a certain amount of each item and sell out quite regularly. My husband went there once at 7pm and they'd already sold out of the beef brisket (they have a count on the wall that tells you how many of each are still available that night).

First of all, whiskey is native to the bluegrass state (KENTUCKY) and though whiskey is 'the drink' of the moment it's time too shall pass... Since the 1700s New Orleans is and has always been a rum city, but hey, why be bothered with the details or with authenticity, right? I mean who cares that the iconic poboy sandwich is supposed to be served on a French baguette (which could likely be sourced from another local biz just around the corner -Le Carpe Diem, Grenfell Street) when you could use a (possibly cheaper?) inferior Vietnamese roll? Back to the food: we sampled the fried chicken which was a very small serve for the price and it was accompanied by a mayonnaise 'sauce' - why is it needed? Is there bread to make a sandwich?!? Um, no. So, I gave it a go and found the sauce bland, tasteless, and utterly unnecessary. It's mayonnaise! With nothing else. Fried chicken in the States doesn't ever come with a sauce! Ever. Back to the chicken, it had a delightful crunch and was reasonably well seasoned but far too greasy. If served with grease glistening then it should sit on a piece of bread to soak up the oil OR should be blotted with paper. Not good. Next we had the Marlin tartar which was one of the few unique and creative takes on NOLA cuisine; it was presented on a crisp much like a Zapps' Potato Chip (for Western Hemi folks). This is something I can recommend without reservation. Then we sampled the rabbit stew - very, very tasty with just enough seasoning, however too much rice and not enough rabbit. One last thing, it is a total and complete sacrilege to have a Mardi Gras party on the first Friday of Lent. Pure and simple commercialization. If you can't do it on Shrove Tuesday, just give it up!

From cooking methods to their business style. It just reflects how cool they are as individuals, and something I really want to support and share. Oh yeah, their food is beyond good as well! After counting down the hours until this restaurant opened it's doors, we finally made it inside the restaurant. It's dark, comfy and just so much fun! There are all sorts of cool critters and artistic elements. Just go see it for yourself. I should point out, it features some booths too, so great for groups. I had the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. Oh yeah baby! Crispy, tasty, juicy chicken which is cut through with come fresh slaw. You can order this with fries on the side, but we opted for cheesy fries! So glad we did! These fries were covered in home made cheese sauce and crumbled cheesy bits, I kind of just wanted to put my face into the bowl and chew. Oh, I also had a bite or two of the Cheese Steak Philly.
