A platter of zucchini spears freshly prepared in the same light batter, with a cup of thick, cold Ranch dressing on the side. Crushed ice in the drinks instead of cubes. A bun that does not disintegrate as you are maneuvering through your Cheeseburger of the Old School Gods. I live in San Diego and when I am in LA, this place is a Must Stop for my family. Great food, I LOVE their zucchinis! Their combo prices are good. Pretty clean place but as far as the interior/walls they need a paint job. Today our work order several family packs. Us woman decided to treat the guys for lunch for Father's Day. We ordered the food a day before the event and paid for it as well. When I went to pick it up today, the new owners had packed everything very neat. I was impressed. The drinks are usually the hardest to drive with but they packed them nice and snug so very minimal movement was made. Nothing spilled either! They helped me carry everything in the car. They offered me coffee while waiting for everything to be ready. I didn't wait much. The people at worked all asked where this burger place was because the burgers were delicious. Personally I love it here. Their burgers taste like steak. Some people ordered garden burgers and they said they would order again because the taste was perfect. They say in other places, veggie burgers are hard and stale and not good flavor but they were perfect here for the vegetarians. Best burgers and chili cheese fries ever! If you were to choose between tams or Douglas to Burger Basket, they don't even come close! The food here is awesome for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! The people working here always greet you and treat you with respect and they get your orders done quickly! The atmosphere here is pretty soothing and relaxing. *I'd rather receive a burger basket instead of a fruit basket* I love burgers. I love mom & pop places. I love mom & pop burger places. I came here on a Monday night to satisfy my burger craving, and I must say this place has delicious burgers. I ended up ordering the Colossal Burger (I think that's the name) which is a burger with pastrami on it. Most places have their version of this burger and I would go as far as to say that this is becoming more and more of a staple at mom & pop burger joints. My girlfriend ordered the chili cheese fries, and at the last second I ordered chicken nuggets. Say what you want, but chicken nuggets are soul food to my inner-child. The burger was a two hander, and had pastrami hanging out over the sides...Much like my belly hung over my shorts after eating too much. The chili in the chili cheese fries may look generic but had a much deeper flavor than I was expecting. Not the best chili you'll ever have, but a good chili for chili cheese fries. The fries are closer to steak fries size, but not as big. I know I smiled when I saw that the chicken nuggets were dinosaur chicken nuggets. Yeah, I had some fun playing with the T-Rex and triceratops before I devoured them. The downside to them was that they were the ones you would find in the frozen section of the grocery store. No joke. Now I don't know what it is about mom & pop places that love using shredded lettuce on their burgers, and Burger Basket is no different, but I find that it makes for a messier experience. Especially when the juice from the patty and pastrami ooze out everywhere taking the poor little shreds of little lettuce with them in a river of of flavor down your hand, and on to the table. Why the 3 stars you ask? Well, when we were waiting in line to order the cashier was on her phone and the cook gave her that "Yo! there's people in line" look. The cashier was nice and apologized, and for me it was no biggie but I can see others getting pretty upset with that. Plus the fact that the nuggets were probably purchased from the grocery store was kind of a let down. I also asked for onions on the side for our order of the chili cheese fries because my girlfriend doesn't care for lots of onions, but they just ended up not putting any onions. Sure, I could have asked for some on the side but when I picked up the order I noticed it halfway to the table. I had gone too far already...Not even the fact that they were dinosaur shaped couldn't save the loss of the one star. Although I will say that they were really close to saving the lost star. After having a busy day and not having time to cook I decided to get something quick and local I decided to go to this burger place once I arrived I noticed that the place was really clean and the employees seem very friendly I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for myself some zucchini for the husband chili cheese fries and a junior burger special for my boys I was surprised and happy that they offer junior burgers since most hamburger places don't have them and I was always stuck buying my boys ages (4 & 6) regular size burgers that they wouldn't even finish. Cheese burger was delicious chili cheese fries were the best I've had since my old burger place closed down and other ones just didn't taste right zucchini was ok but the ranch was good I would definitely recommend this place for a good hamburger. The meat was under cooked and it was overly smothered by thousand island, the bread was not toasted, so there for the burger was mushy and slapped together with vegies! Had lunch here the other day, ordered a turkey burger as a daily special for $7.99 with fries and a drink-food was good but what got me was that they charged me .75c to use my debit card and then rounded up the total and gave me change back I was a little confused but was like oh well. They have an ATM machine in the restaurant which I debated using since I needed cash to pay something besides lunch but paying .75c seemed better than the fees associated with a non bank ATM withdrawal, next day I see a $2 charge from my bank pertaining to the charge of this place. Was told by my bank the restaurant has it set up when u use ur card to pay u not only get charged the .75c but it runs as a ATM withdrawal which ur bank may charge u too!
