In Feb 2024 car was taken in for service because brake lights were all on,was told I needed a Hub big assembly.Done at a cost of almost 1 thousand dollars! Fast forward to April 2026 and only 8,000 miles more,all same lights are on and SAME part is needed at a cost of $1400!! The SAME part should not have needed replacing so soon! After 4 months of owning the 2022 Subaru Forrester I purchased with jsut over 15,000 miles on it from Burdick Toyota that car died at a red light. Between the tow and the repairs I had to spend over $800. The incorrect type of battery was in the car- it had a lead acid battery and needs an EFB battery because of the Auto Start/ Stop feature on the car. After reaching out to the sales person, Shannon who worked with me when I purchased the car, she told me she could do nothing for me and I should reach out directly to the Used Car Sales Manager Ian. Ultimately they told me they would do nothing for me because it was not their fault, and were difficult to work with. Instead of recieving clear answers to my questions, I got vague answers which leave me concerned that the car I just paid over $30,000 in cash for will have further issues down the road. Ian told me that this is "a common problem on the Subaru" but was unwilling to provide me with resources to verify this for myself and/ or gain a better understanding of known problems for the car I purchased from them. I will never again buy a from this dealership, and am left feeling very weary about ever buying a used car again. It does not feel as if I should have been responsible for ensuring the car had the correct type of battery in it when I purchased the car, and appartently this dealership does not consider this their responsibility either. read more

Took my car in to get inspected and a slow tire leak checked out - a one hour job anywhere else. They insisted I had to leave my car and couldn't wait for it. I emphasized the time I needed it done by (giving them from 9:30am to 4:30pm and 5 at the latest to do an inspection and tire check.) By 4:45 they hadn't even started. I couldn't pick my car up until 5:40 making me late to my job and they hadn't even fixed the tire b/c they quoted me $38 if something was wrong with it - and then when they called at 5:10 (finally after I called them) they told me it'd be $198 to fix one tire. The service guy Kris refused to even offer a simple "hey sorry for the trouble and that we ran late." I do not want to assume but the only feeling I could walk away with was that he would never be caught apologizing to a woman. This is not the first bad experience I have had with Driver's Village Toyota. read more

I was in the Syracuse area and experienced a problem with the 4WD control in my Toyota 4Runner; unfortunately, Burdick Toyota was the closest dealership. Burdick charges a $185 "diagnosis fee," which I paid. But a week later and having paid $650 to replace the computer assembly (ECU) based on the diagnosis, and it still wasn't fixed. The next recommended course of action was to replace the trans actuator assembly, at a cost of $2,850 parts and labor. I drove it home instead. It turns out it was just a loose wire -- and not the ECU and certainly not the actuator assembly (or, the next recommended course of action). The so-called "diagnosis," for $185, is simply reading the error codes and doing what it says. A "certified mechanic" at Burdick simply means that you can plug the scanner into the car and read the codes. The mechanics don't really diagnose anything. Burdick should be renamed, "Bring Your Wallet." Thank goodness I didn't proceed with the additional recommended repair at an additional cost of $2,850! read more

Saturday i started looking at purchasing a 2nd car and after narrowing it down toyota had two vehicles I was interested in. My local dealership is Romano in east syracuse so I stopped there first. I was shocked at the energy level here. Everyone was greeted immediately and other staff after initial contact kept saying hello and asked if we have been helped. I was helped by a salesman after a short wait and although he told me right off that he had limited stock he didn't lower his standards, and showed me every car he had on the property with a test drive if I wanted. I left with a feeling of WOW! GREAT SERVICE Two days later I decided to check out the inventory at Burdick toyota. What a difference in service. No contact for a good 5 to 10 mins even though staff walked by me. You definitely got the feeling your sale was not needed and you were unimportant too them. When I did get greeted by a nice woman she was uninformed about federal and state incentives which I would think you would know by heart front and back if you talked about this everyday. So after a question was raised we brought it to the mgr and it was like pulling teeth to get an answer. NOT IMPRESSED! So I wasnt offered a walk to go look at the vehicles or test drive. NOT IMPRESSED! Interesting too was a stop at Burdick Hyundai I walked the parking lot reading options and specs while two salesman watched inside in A/C. NEVER EVEN WAVED, another very welcome environment. I didnt bother walking inside to talk it was obvious these salesman didn't want to talk about their products. NOT IMPRESSED! Last stop of a huge waste of time....Burdick Volkswagen. The atmosphere was better. I was greeted after a couple minutes the staff seemed more interested in socializing then customers. When I did talk to a salesman he was pulled away and I was immediately greeted by another. I waited for the 1st to return and once again vehicle incentives on state and federal rebates eludes them. I would think 7500 and 2000 in discounts might be something you might want to push to sell a vehicle...its free money. Should make your job easier you would think. But a contradictory conversation of facts started between salesman leaving me feeling what else dont they know. Bigger isn't always better. Burdick is convient for widow shopping though. read more

Avoid them like the plague! Tried to purchase a car there in the past few years and even did the 'we will purchase today'. They will not negotiate even though their price was 25% higher than a dealership less than 50 miles away. Tried to use them for service on a different Toyota we own, they find problems that do not exist! Needs brakes and rotors for inspection, they are less than a year old installed by another Toyota dealer. Looks like they stay in business by overcharging for new vehicles and making up maintenance issues. Guess that's one way to stay in business, but you will never see any of our money nor will we waste our time again trying to use our 'local dealer'. Gave one star since you cannot do less. read more

I found the sales process seamless and lacking in the normal car dealer hijinks, so I certainly wouldn't be opposed to buying another car from Burdick. I've had their service department do all of the recommended maintenance since new, and I'm almost at 50K miles. There have been a couple hiccups along the way, but when I asked them to address the issues, I never had to argue to get them to do the right thing. On 2 occasions I calmly explained my concerns and they promised to make it right, and they did. Of course, I'd prefer that these issues had not occurred, but as they say it's the way that one addresses a mistake that really matters, not the mistake itself. read more

Nope! Read the update!!! Fantastic leasing experience! I cannot thank John Gaca enough for his kindness, professionalism, and going above and beyond in helping me lease a Corolla. The entire process took a few hours- and we came to a price within 20 minutes. Plus, I got exactly what I wanted at the perfect price. I also got upgraded from a Corolla LE to SE which has much better features. If you are an SU student or parent of a student, I highly recommend going to Burdick for their student incentives. Very disappointed the Sales Rep did not ask me questions as to why I have had bad experiences with Burdick and will not be leasing again. What happened to Customer Satisfaction, or trying to find out how they should improve. My family has leased a Toyota and done business with Burdick Toyota for the last 15 years. I called as my lease is up in the next couple of months, I was actually hoping to find out the exact date. I asked how I would go about setting up an appointment to get the car inspected. They confirmed it was in stock and available for us to test drive. We said we would be there asap, 45 minute drive, we were there 20 minutes before our appointment. Just before we get there, we get a call... since we spoke, somebody came in and purchased it ... sorry. I said we had an appointment, drove thru rush hour traffic, in good faith!! Why if we had an appointment would you tell them it was available immediately, why not say, we have a customer who had established appointment, if they are not interested, it's yours. Today my fiancé and I walked into Burdick Toyota to ask a simple question about her current Toyota. Upon entering, we sat there for numerous minutes without anyone saying anything to us. There were numerous employees sitting down chatting, completely disregarding us. Finally, a sales consultant named Peter came over to talk to us. Peter was incredibly rude and abrasive. He offered no help and was incredibly condescending. My fiancé and I do look young but I can guarantee we make significantly more than his tall, scrawny weasel self. If that is how the all the staff acts, they should really consider clearing house. I have an Audi. I'd never consider their piece of trash cars anyways. read more

Absolutely horrible experience with the body shop. I purchased a brand new 2018 Tundra from Burdick Toyota. A few weeks after purchasing, I needed some body work done (a shopping cart left a long deep scratch in the side of the bed). After the work was done, I picked up my truck. I immediately noticed the plastic guards atop the bed were off. The staff seemed annoyed I was asking about this, but not a huge deal. A shop worker came out to "fix" it but just adjusted it slightly, not actually fixing it. The plastic piece was pushed up due to incorrectly putting the tonneau cover back on. This was something I could fix myself at home so not a big deal. Upon arriving home I noticed the new paint job appeared milky. I tried wiping it with a cloth but it did not help. I then noticed my rear bumper was put back on crooked. There was also new damage to my tailgate which was not there when I dropped my truck off for repairs. Essentially my truck came out worse than when it went in! I went up the next day to explain my concerns. I was told the milkiness in the paint was due to it not being polished fully and this was due to some lighting issues in their shop. Not a huge deal. I was told the bumper could be adjusted and they would "look into the damage on the tailgate". I felt like a burden being there, but these were all new issues caused by there shop. The milkiness in the pant was fixed, the bumper was adjusted, and the new damage on the tailgate appeared to be touched up. When I looked at the damage when it was brought out, and saw there was still gouges in the paint / metal that just appeared to have touch up paint on them, I was told "That's just sticky stuff". Knowing it was not just "sticky stuff" and being completely insulated as it trying to be passed off as that, I decided to just take my truck back. Due to the tonneau cover being put back on incorrectly, I will also have to replace the weather seal. I would steer far away from them, unless of course you'd like more damage than you went in with. Worst customer service and service department in the world. This service department is run by a bunch of girls that don't know what they are doing. They will lie to you and lie to you. They don't want to go out of there way to help anyone. They just want your money. The service manager Abby and her assistant are the worst trash in the world. She has no clue what she's saying about any cars. They will straight lie to your face. Yes shes not a technician but she's completely clueless about what is going on and how to run stuff properly. She doesn't know a single thing. She will then look at you like you are dumb if you try to explain something to her. She is pathetic. I wouldn't want to wish the trouble and stress of this dealership upon anyone. There is no general manager at this dealership. They started to act like children and hang up the phone. So childish. I have a 8 month old baby and this is how you treat a customer. Owners are no where to be found. There is no one that cares about your problems in other words or will give u the time of day. Save yourself the hassle and don't go to this garbage dealership. The service advisor Sydney is a joke. She will just be on her phone playing games texting. Go to a dealership where the employees are not playing games on there phones 24/7. That's not what they are paid to do. This whole dealership is literally a joke. read more

I bought a new RAV4 hybrid and in 14 months the drivers window electrical malfunctioned. This company will promise to call you back and I have been told that three times with no call back. Service department still lacks customer service. I had my car in for an oil change. The cashier cashed me out handed me the keys and said it's out in the lot. Yes a Toyota out in a Toyota lot!!! So easy to find. After looking for the car..... absolutely frustrated beyond belief... I came back in and demanded someone find my car. This is not generally what happens but it did that day. Worst service experience ever. Hybrid Tech doesn't know how to troubleshoot, instead replaces parts that aren't needed - costing thousands of dollars. What would have been a simple and affordable fix turned into a nightmare. Customer Service and service advisors are an absolute joke, don't expect anyone to follow up with the status of your vehicle and don't expect these people to get a 20 minute job done in a day, takes weeks for them to do absolutely nothing for a trouble code. Huge lack of communication between customer service and service advisors. Customer Service Manager has a snarky attitude about refunds. Go to Romano Toyota or learn how to fix your own car. Don't expect the owner to care about the money you spent or the time wasted on your vehicle. He would not honor a refund for a very expensive part that wasn't needed to begin with!! This last interaction with Toyota's service area has completely tarnished Burdick for me. I had my car towed there for a service that could only be done by the dealer. It was getting paid for by a third-party that had messed up my car. They continually contacted my insurance company who had nothing to do with the altercation but failed to contact me directly repeatedly. At one point I need Photos taken of the damage which they failed to do which ended up holding me up another week for having my car. Altogether they had my car for three weeks. Finally I paid for it out of pocket just to get it fixed. Huge failure by Burdick. read more

It was a great experience. Earlander was my sales person and he was fantastic. It's difficult to buy a car at Burdick Toyota because the sales manager uses high pressure sales tactics. I really like Toyotas and the salesmen were knowledgeable. But the sales manager quoted a price several thousands above the true market value. When I tried to negotiate he insisted I put a deposit down on the car before he would discuss the final selling price. The other car dealer I was working with was open and honest about his prices, and won my business. I have had my Toyota serviced at Burdick Toyota and gotten good service there. read more

Be very careful when you are going to take the car to this workshop, mainly if you are Hispanic, they have cheated us. 1.- We took the car in March of 2018 because of the broken transmission, they changed it because the car was in warranty, they gave extension of warranty until February 2019 2.- We returned with the car in November, with the same transmission that they put broken, they did not want to pay the transmission being in guarantee because according to them my husband had given him forward and backward to the car in the snow and broke the transmission . We had to pay $ 5393.93 dollars for a new transmission, we picked it up after 15 days, after three days we returned with the car broken, according to them had a broken shaft and a leak of liquids, we left it there, on the second day we picked it up and third day we returned because the car still had problems and they tell us that the transmission is broken again. 3 .- Now we are asking for more money for a diagnosis and no solution has been given to the car and they say they will not pay any settlement. 4.- They have said stupid things like: That my husband drives with both feet, that he goes out and he goes forward and backwards, that he goes at high speeds and the other things they know well and that I'm not going to list them because it would be endless. 5.- What do you think, dear clients ??????????????? read more

Two years ago I went to Burdicks Jeep dealer in Drivers Village and asked what it would cost to trade my Corolla in for a Jeep....The guy asked my credit score and I told him I didn't know but I had had a bankruptcy and divorce several years prior. He didn't even flinch...just said it would be around $500. He didn't look over my car...didn't ask anything..it was clear that he didn't want to waste time with someone who might not be able to finance a vehicle. I was angry..but thought maybe I would try the Toyota dealer as maybe Jeep just didn't want my late model, in good shape Toyota. I asked the guy at the Toyota dealer and sure enough...Whats my credit score? I told him I didn't know and he at least took my cars mileage and went to talk to his boss. Less than 3 minutes later he came back and said..."around $500 a month!!!" Are you beginning to see a pattern here??? I was livid...and asked him how that could be....and I swear to you...this man...standing in and working at a Toyota dealer told me that my Corolla just didn't hold its value!!!! I told him in no uncertain terms that Toyota would NEVER screw me again and I left. The next day, I was thinking about it, and couldn't accept it...so I called th fine folks at Romano Toyota..and asked if it was possible that that was all my Corolla was worth in a trade for lease? The man told me he couldn't give me a price over the phone...but..he said he could guarantee that for the money I was looking to spend, he could put me not in a Corolla...but the Camry!!! Needless to say.....I now own a Camry from Romano Toyota, and was pleased to find out that their service department has been very very good!!! After driving from Romano Toyota with my new vehicle...I got home and called Burdicks to tell them what had happened.....all I could get was a lady on the phone who told me that she was sorry and they don't usually treat people that way!!!! Now didn't that just leave me feeling special!!!! Word to the wise for all of you who posted how great Burdick is....experience someone else before you give them all that extra money!!! Absolutely terrible service at Burdick Toyota. Avoid if at all possible. We broke down on the road and were ultimately towed to Burdick Toyota. We were told that we needed a radiator replacement at a cost over $2000, they did say that there was a possibility of future transmission issues, so we agreed to the repair but began researching the purchase of a new Sienna. When it became clear that we would not be purchasing from them, they were rude, and it worsened over the week they had my vehicle. When I called to see if it was ready for pick up, I was told that they would need another $6500 in repairs to get it on the road. They asked if "I wanted to be put through to sales". I spoke to my regular mechanic and he believes , as do I, that the original repair was probably not necessary and that other issues should have been apparent (or were possibly even caused by the service at Burdick) before doing $2000 worth of work. I felt that they were just trying to extort me into purchasing from their dealership. Ultimately, because I was 5 hours from home, and could not afford both the repair and new vehicle, they accepted my title & additional $340 payment to KEEP MY VAN. read more

I was even able to get all weather floor mats ordered and installed by David my sales guy while I was here, saving me from going out in the Windy cold weather to fiddle with it. Jeff was very knowledgeable about the vehicle, and answered all of our questions. He was able to point out all the upgrades and changes from the older model, and we immediately felt comfortable and confident in our decision to buy another Toyota Sienna. Bought a used Camry at a local dealership, it only had one key (for real), so I had to contact a Toyota dealer for duplicate. From my initial contact by phone, all staff were warm and welcoming, helpful and informative. I spoke to MaryAnn and Shannon to schedule my appointment. They also discovered two outstanding recalls/service campaigns which had not been addressed and made a single appointment to get all the work done at once. I was advised it may take 4 hours or even more depending, so I made an early appointment. After drop-off, Shannon showed me to the waiting area, which was comfortable, clean, spacious, and well-lit with plenty of natural lighting and usual amenities. All work was done (including complimentary car wash-!), in just under two hours, and I was out the door! Fantastic! Although I didn't buy the car here-- I was treated like family. Very professional and personable staff. Highly recommended! read more
