If you are a Mercedes owner and reading this you have now found your new mechanic. There is no need to keep searching. I have been an owner for 20 years and my brother is also a mechanic. I know when I have found a good shop or not. I know if I am being taken advantage of or not. Burdi is the place to go. Great, Friendly Customer Service, but most importantly the work they do under the hood is just as great! You will now be disappointed!! read more

This is my second time working with Burdi, and I am just so grateful I finally found such a wonderful shop. Vince was so kind, honest and helpful! He took the time to listen to my concerns, quoted a great out the door price, he was up front about the process and turn time, and he went above and beyond to keep me posted. Before Burdi, I had to ask my husband to bring my car in so I wouldnt be taken advantage of. Now I feel completely confident to take my own car in, and I know that I am getting top notch service for a great price. Cant recommend Burdi enough. Thank you Burdi Team! read more

By far one of the best shops around they are so welcoming from the first call until the issue has been resolved and at a fair price will not bring my car anywhere else read more

In October '21, I got in my first accident, and I ended up taking my beloved Audi to Burdi Motorworks in Schiller Park, and they did a FANTASTIC job! They walked me through the whole process and haggled with my insurance to get almost all new factory parts. You definitely cannot tell the car has been in an accident now. Vince and Carmine are the current owners of the family business, and they treat clients like family. I can't sing their praises enough bc the process was so stressful for me, but they reassured me and really took care of me and my car. They specialize in Mercedes, but work on all German cars. They do everything - service, repairs, body work, etc and their prices are very reasonable. You will feel like you left your vehicle in honest, capable hands because you did! read more

There simply isn't anyone better to work on 80's Mercedes. W126, R107 and R129's. The crew are masters with these machines. While other shops look at manuals, watch youtube videos, Carmine Sr. just knows what to do. The size of the sockets, the parts, he just KNOWS. It's fascinating to watch this man work on these cars, it's a symphony with him at the conductors stand in real time. No matter what the issue has been, it's fixed and fixed correctly. While they are not inexpensive, they shouldn't be. After all it's this mans life's work. You get what you pay for. Get to know them, it's worth it. Carmine, Vince, Kevin are fair, honest and real people who are committed to excellence in their chosen craft. read more

Burdi Motorworks - Complete engine out rebuild 89 560sel - Auto Repair Near Me - Schiller Park, Illinois

This one is sooo easy. Just about anybody can spin a wrench, so the #1 differentiator between auto repair shops is honesty. You have to trust that you're vehicle will be fixed, and fixed correctly. That search for honesty starts at the very beginning. So if you're told that your call will be returned you get a little suspicious after 3 days of repeated promises that 'he will call you right back'. If they can't pick up a phone, I don't want them to pick up that wrench. Buh-bye. read more

Used to regularly service my car at the dealer. Had an issue come up. Tried to schedule service with the dealer. They were incredibly backed up. I get that. What I don't get is when the dealer indicates they will call you at a specific day and don't multiple times. So, I was determined to ditch the dealer and find an alternative that had certified mechanics and found Burdi Motorworks, and very happy I did. Burdi is a great shop. They do what they say and say what they do. They are fair, communicative, and legitimately care about getting the job done right. They were busy as well. However, not only did they call me when they indicated, they were able to get my car in and remedy the issue. I felt better taken care of in my first service call with Burdi, than I was with the dealer I had gone to for several years. What I also appreciate is that Burdi is a local, family business. I will take all my vehicles to Burdi in the future. read more

I had the pleasure of working with Carmine at Burdi on my BMW recently. I had very complicated engine situation and I had gone to a dealership in Chicago and they had told me the car was not savable and should be sold for scrap. Carmine was able to work on my car and come up with a great solution for a fraction of the cost. I was amazed. These guys are total professionals and if you have a BMW or Mercedes I would not hesitate to bring my car there ever. Very honest and fair. 5 stars. read more

Biggest waste of time!! Don't waste your time or money. Absolutely no one on the team has a clue what they're talking about. Brought my car in from Chicago for brakes, after waiting 3 1/2 hours absolutely nothing had been completed. I ultimately had them put the car back as is because they just seem to be clueless on the repair. read more

I found Burdi's Motors on the internet and came straight after calling. It was very nice of Mr B to show us the problems of the breaks and springs. He also told me the spring and paint damages were caused by the salt for melting snow. He did not push us to change any parts unless it's 100% necessary. Mr B is definitely a very reliable person that I can count on for my car. read more

Burdi Motorworks - lucky is so adorable - Auto Repair Near Me - Schiller Park, Illinois

I do most of my automotive work as a DIY guy but some tasks need more detail and know how and installing a new intake manifold required this for my '06 MB C280. They told me to schedule for 8 am and still in the shop stop telling people a time and work doesn't get done.

I worked Vince for my Benz, Burdi Motorworks was very good with communicating about repairs and kept me informed at all times. Very reliable business and got the job done in a timely matter and the price was a lot better than the dealer. read more

There is no better place to have your Mercedes (or other foreign car) serviced than at Burdi. Period. Period Period Period. From genuine people to honest and expert service they can do no wrong. Go, you won't regret it. In over 10 years, 6 different cars, they have never let me down. read more

Nothing is special to say. Burdi Motorworks, specifically Carmine and Marcos, just do their best job. I came for Service B, replace wiper blades, check brakes. Carmine gave me a big discount as I were the 1st time customer. It made me surprise. They did their job with all their heart, and made their customer happy as much as possible. They tried to save customer's money, but with the best quality. They think for customer that what is the best for their customer. I am very happy that I found the best Mercedes Benz independence service in Illinois that I can trust. Highly strongly recommended! Tip: they also do Detail, and their Detailing service is good price. read more

Vince and Team Burdi! WOW! A+ shop top to bottom. After brining my 650i into Elmhurst BMW (Avoid them!) for a rear side window power sun shade stuck in the up position. They told me they wouldn't remove the door trim to see if the mechanism was off track/needed a new belt for the drive train. Despite telling me the tech said he could hear the electric motor running when the button was activated. Elmhurst BMW refused to triage unless I ordered a whole new unit and just replaced the whole thing @ $900 with 2 hours labor included. No thanks Elmhurst BMW. I prefer real mechanics, and I found one @ Burdi! Vince was a pleasure to work with and he had my car back next day and was a REAL mechanic who fixed the issue. And best part he didn't charge me for it. A customer for life. I've also had terrible experiences with Northbrook BMW. Look no further for your A1 honest euro mechanic! Simply the best. read more

I took my Murano to get fixed after it was hit and the person fled. I took my car there for body work which included replacing parts and subsequently a paint job. Carmine and Vince are very attentive to your vehicle's issues and are honest about what needs to be fixed and what not. I also appreciated that they showed me the work that was done on my vehicle to make sure that it held up to my expectations. Needless to say they did a great job and my expectations were indeed met. read more

I searched for an alternative to taking my Mercedes Benz to the dealership for service when I had a bad experience at the dealership with overcharging and some damage to my car. Burdi's Motor Works' website came up in my search results, and the information on the company website described exactly the services I was looking for. Burdi's Motor Works' website has a great Q&A section with details on the different types of services that modern Mercedes Benz's need with their computerized service indicators. The website also has some general guidelines about how long certain items should last and when they should be replaced. The website brags that prices for repairs at Burdi's Motor Works are generally half the cost of what you would pay at the dealership. I happened to require the same brake service within days. My dealership charged me $750 for front brake pad and rotor service. And at Burdi's Motor Works, the price for replacing just the brake pads was $250 and the owner of the shop let me know that on most Mercedes Benz models, the brake rotors ordinarily last 60,000 miles. My car had only 19,500 miles. I have completely lost faith in my dealer and I probably won't be back since I feel like I was taken advantage of there. And as a testament to the boast on the website, my repair was more like 66% off. Carmine Burdi is the owner of the shop, and is a Certified Mercedes Factory Trained Technician. Look him up when you need to get your Mercedes Benz repaired, and do yourself a favor by saving yourself a load of cash. read more

I brought my CL 500 in to Burdi's for work on the brakes. I was very happy with the work done at the time and the time it took was impressive. It has been a few months now and my brakes started squealing very loudly. I brought the car into MB and had the brakes inspected, they assured me that my rotors were not replaces as stated on the invoice by Burdi's. It was explained to me that the work they did made my brakes worse and I have a large ridge in the front rotors. I had to have the brakes completely replaced after less than 6 months after Burdi's repair visit. I am out the $560 I paid Burdi's and I have to pay for the same work again, looking back on this I would have not taken my vehicle here. read more

Went in for oil change . Cost was under $160.00 They did excellent work and had me come and look at the underside of car when they finished the work. Dealt with Vince and Grace. Excellent personnel. I will not be going to the dealer anymore. They can do everything at Burdi. read more

I switched (after reading the reviews on Yelp) to Burdi's for excellent work at a less expensive price than a dealer. They offer pickup and drop off at the near by Metra stations. They gave a list of items that need to be fixed or soon to be concerned about but didn't push any of them on me. They worked with my extended warranty plan! -- I came back next year for my service and to fix a vibration. No problem again. They worked with my extended warranty to get some things fixed. They also recommended I visit a MB dealer to get my brake pump reprogrammed since it was throwing an error. -- Still bringing my car there after 5 years, nothing but good things to say. read more

Genuine, professional, honest, family-owned business. Mercedes owners in the area should not consider going anywhere else but Burdi Motorworks. I've only been here for an alignment, tire work, and bulb replacement so far, but the work was fast and very affordable compared to dealership rates. They also accommodated my tight work schedule. I know I'll be coming back to Burdi for all service as long as I own a Merc. Check them out! read more

Had a problem with my BMW they addressed the issue and fixed all issues ! I Will recommend to all my friends and family

Carmine is really knowledgeable and will fix what's needed most, vs. upselling and fixing it all at once. They can get parts really quickly. One thing that could be improved is if you do have multiple things to fix, they could help plan getting it done all at once a little better. But I'd rather take a mechanic that is a little easy going, because they work fast to get it all done and you don't feel pressured. read more

Great family run business with very honest and professional service! Both Carmine and Vince have been more than accommodating with all my issues with my Mercedes GLK. Carmine Jr. is my new best friend! I tried to do a self service on my 1993 190e since I had plenty of time and not a lot of money. When I realized that I was in over my head with an electrical issue, I called Burdi's and explained my circumstances to Carmine Jr. German engineering was over my head and I needed help. I felt bad because this was an "À la carte" for the mechanic because I had pulled the firewall apart from the dash to the engine block. I had a few other issues going on and Carmine Jr. always had time to speak to me even though I didn't appear as scheduled for the first time. I felt confident in leaving my car in their hands, but was a bit skeptical about what the diagnosis would be. (The problem turned out to be an unseen broken wire.) They did great work, quickly, and most importantly they cared. They took the time to listen to my problem and provide a real solution for me at a fair price! Carmine Jr.had it ready within just a few hours. I'm glad I gave Burdi's Motorworks a try! My experience was great. Good professional service with people who seem to really know their business. I highly recommend them. read more

I am the manager for a national van rental company and we service our entire Chicagoland Sprinter fleet at Burdi's. Their turn around time and Sprinter knowledge is fantastic and they have a very professional demeanor. Sprinters can be very finicky and hard to diagnose (trust me, I hear the stories from across the country) and Carmine and his guys are patient and meticulous in testing everything before they let a vehicle go. I read Ray M's review and had a good laugh at his complaints. I like that he wanted to be told that diesel fuel would degrade a rubber belt! Sprinters need to be well maintained (not patched together with "a kit of washers" for a couple hundred dollars). As long as you want quality work done quickly, and aren't trying to nickel and dime your way through a repair, Burdi's Motorworks is the place to go for Sprinters maintenance and repairs. read more

Very professional, courteous and reasonable value added service. Been going there for 40 years now after my new car warranty expired they're just fantastic they were little bit League on my transmission and when I went to the dealer they quoted me $2,900 and burdi Motorworks said it's really not much big of a deal you can drive for another 10 years and then we will see and this was 4 years ago and I've been using them since then read more

I thought i had already left a stellar review for Burdi's but apparently i must have forgot. Very disappointed with Burdi Motorworks after reading all of the positive reviews. I brought my S430 for new brakes and paid $867.00. The car's brakes squeaked louder after the work was done compared to when I brought it in. They also broke my oil stick and didn't even tell me. I checked my oil prior to bringing it in. I asked them to top off all of my fluids. A couple of days later when I went to check my oil level, my dip stick was missing. I called Carmine. He spoke to me for a couple of minutes, stated he was busy and would call me back. I never heard from him again. Very disappointed. I will never take my car back to Burdi Motorworks. read more
