Everything was okay but they supposedly "lost a part" and never gave it back to us.Another thing that we found really bad was after we got our service our door handle on the inside didn't work, however it worked on the outside. My daughter was so upset about her favorite seat door handle not working, and she refuses to ride in the car with us. We don't ever want to come back because of the poor service. We also had some strange noises coming from our car when turning, and when you start up the car a news thing pops up and it never did before the service. We also noticed that our gas had a different number of miles left on the gas by about a hundred miles, so we are wondering were all that gas went. Because of their dishonesty we are also questioning if our bumper is a new one or just painted over. I and my husband are really dissatisfied with this. read more

ZERO stars! Shady operation. Involved in an accident and opposing party took their car to Impact. Agreed to settle without insurance. Very professional to start with, walked out with modest and reasonable estimate. After giving a deposit, we approved repair to be performed. This is when the fun begin. Estimate went up by over $1000 after we left. What could we do but agree? Then after TWO WEEKS they had the nerve to call and ask when we were going to pay for repairs so they could BEGIN the work on the car. BEGIN? Why was it not complete? Wait, I have to pay in advance? In what world?? They finally begin and complete repairs. Called me to tell me the car was done and I needed to settle the bill. Sure, let me give you my credit card. No? You only take debit or cash? OK, let me give you debit over the phone. We can't do that - what. In what world? Meanwhile the owner and driver appear to have colluded and filed a claim for insurance - knowing we want to pay out of pocket. They had my car for months and my car was sitting there just collecting dust. Unscrupulous business owners. I was going to hold off on writing this review but I feel it is important for people considering this business for their auto repairs to know the kind of people they are dealing with. In August, my daughter got into an accident with a Tow Truck owned by an affiallated Tow Truck Company of Impact Body Works; RG Express Towing. The day of the accident, my daughter was stopped at a Red Light at an intersection in Chicago, when a tow truck driven by Manny Rivera approached the intersection on the passenger side of my daughter's car. The Tow Truck was hauling a another vehicle that came off it's tow bar when it stopped at the intersection and rammed the passenger side of the my daugher's car. Manny the Tow Truck driver provided his insurance information but refused to provide is Drivers License information. He told my daughter not to worry, to call his boss, Daniel, bring her car to their body shop and they would take care of it. He gave her Daniel's number and business card for Impact Body Works. Manny refused to wait for the police to file a report and took off. My daughter filed a police report the next day. I didnt get a hold of Daniel until after the weekend. He told me the same thing, that they would take care of the car if I brought it to his body shop. I thanked him for the offer but kindly declined and told him I would prefer to go through the insurance and take my car to a body shop that I know and trust. No offense to him and his business, but frankly i do not know his work and his shop was inconvenient to us. We were about to go out of the country in a few days for two weeks and preffered to just go through the insurance. He said he would talk to his insurance. It has now been over two months. I managed to file a claim directly with his insurance, but his own insurance could not get a statement from Daniel or Manny the Tow Truck Driver. This week, I spoke to his insurance again, and they told me that they finally got a statement from Manny and he stated that it was actually my daughter who hit him. It was impossible for the vehicle he was towing to come unsecured and hit her. If that was the case, why would he not file a police report of his own, why would he provide my daughter with his boss' number and tell her they would fix her car; why would Daniel tell me the same thing when I spoke to him. I am glad we didnt have our car repaired at Impact Body Works because given what has transpired I know I was right not to trust Daniel and the kind of service they provide to customers. read more

Got into a fender bender a few weeks back. First place that came to mind to call to fix my car was Impact Body Works. Previously came to this business to have work done on a different car repair. Worked with Jennifer and Daniel this time for repairs. As expected, professional and friendly service. Got my car fixed in a timely manner and everything looks like new. My wife was involved in a serious car accident. That night a driver from a towing company this shop works with ('Every 24 Towing and Recovery'), came to the hospital where my wife was receiving treatment and asked me to sign paperwork regarding moving of the vehicle from the crash site to a body shop they work with (Impact Body Works). I signed the paperwork with no info. being explained to me on their towing and storage charges or on the storage fees which Impact would also be charging me. The next morning the car was transferred from their shop to Impact Body Works. I went to Impact to sign a vehicle release form and assumed they would release the car to a towing company hired by my preferred body shop (one which is a preferred vendor with State Farm). I came to find out later in the evening that Impact Body Works was not going to release the vehicle until they knew of the total charges from initial towing company -'Every 24'. The reason they didn't know of the charges? The towing company never left a copy of their invoice in the vehicle which Impact was too incompetent to figure out until the time that I needed to take the vehicle away. The next day 'Every 24' provided their towing invoice to Impact during which time I find out that Impact is charging a total of $900 (in cash) to my preferred body shop prior to allowing them to move the vehicle out. Out of the total amount $600 was just for the towing fees from 'Every 24' (ridiculous on its own). The additional $300 was Impact Body Works charges just to have the car there for 1 day + storing charges for what they considered a second day (past 12pm), and the rest was for "admin fees." The shop also refused to accept any form of payment other than cash even after I explained to them that the towing company hired by my preferred shop can only do check (as State Farm doesn't operate on cash). After spending another 2 days trying to resolve the issue I finally convinced the owner of Impact Body to accept a check from my preferred body shop. His excuse for previous demands of 'cash' by his secretary was that he was not here and that he doesn't trust checks from businesses he doesn't know (e.g. my preferred body shop, which is a State Farm select service shop). On top of that, he was now demanding 3 days worth of storage charges for a grand total of $375 for their extortionist pockets. I wouldn't think twice about getting any work done here on a vehicle due to the amount of hassles they make people go through just to release a car. Their practices are pure extortion and it's unbelievable that these guys are still in business. Stay away at all costs and do not sign any agreement with any towing company to have your vehicle transferred here for body work and/or storage. read more

Impact did an amazing job with my vehicle. Flawless work, no imperfections, no sign of any previous damage. Such a a beautiful and impressive job! My car was given to me in way better condition than I left it: flawlessly repaired, detailed and clean, tires filled with air, and smelling great! And if that weren't enough, it was so impressionable to have received such great hospitality while we waited for the vehicle. Complimentary donuts and coffee, great customer service, very professional, clean facility, beautiful and tidy waiting area. I cannot speak to their work. I was called and said my car was towed there after being in an accident over the weekend. I was confused as I asked for my car to be brought to a local shop this AM. They offered to start claims and give discounts and such, which was enticing after my car was hit this weekend, but ultimately I decided to go with the local shop. I asked them to release my car to the local shop, but when they called to coordinate pick up, they were told, after being on hold at length, that my van wasn't there. It was at the towing impound lot. I felt like people were just trying to take advantage, rack up storage fees, and get business... not being upfront and honest. Ultimately I would need to file the claim as I was witness to the accident. So while I appreciate goo customer service and help, left me with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Beginning of Jan 2014 had an accident. IDOT said "they would get to me" for towing. Along came a tow truck who offered to tow me from the expressway. I let him. He then towed it to Impact for repair where it sat for TWO months without one wrench or screwdriver touching it. Excuse was it was in a lot that was snowed in. DUH, it snows in Chicago in the winter. They should have kept the lot clear. No, they would rather inconvenience customers. Had the car towed somewhere else where it has been for the past 80+ days. My son had a car accident and our car was not driveable. It was towed to Impact. They are great people to work with. The other drivers insurance was terrible but Impact worked to get our vehicle repaired properly. America, one of the girls in their office, was fantastic to us. She ALWAYS called us back. They took way to long to fix the problems. Didn't fix all of the problems. They probably thought that I wouldn't see it. They charged me for cleaning inside the car. They only cleaned the most visible places. Because they didn't clean everything I cut my finger on the broken glass. They screeched the plastic inside the car. The only thing that I liked about them was a women that was working at the front desk. She was nice and helpful. After tapping a small snow bank during the freezing cold temperatures we recently had, I needed to replace the bumper on my car. I was referred by a friend to go to Impact Body Works and I'm so glad I did. My car looks beautiful, the team at Impact went above and beyond with my car. When I went to pick it up, I saw it parked and could tell from a distance, not only was the repair done expertly, but my car had been cleaned, inside and out. Disclaimer: I am an insurance agent, and I did not have work done at Impact. Having said that, my client's vehicle was involved in an accident and rendered undrivable within a mile of Impact. Their tow truck was on the scene within minutes, and my client agreed to let them move the vehicle. My client's insurance company allows its insureds to select body shops so my client asked his preferred shop to arrange pick up of the damaged vehicle. Impact said that $1245 cash was required to release vehicle. Considering the vehicle was towed less than a mile and held in storage less than 24 hours, It's my opinion that Impact is trying to extort my client by charging unreasonable storage charges in lieu of repairing his vehicle. read more

Clearly I spoke too soon when updating my review; update: I was told the delay was to make sure my car was "working perfect" to keep me from having to bring the car back into the shop. That was not the case; eventually, my car was no longer aligned and making a sound when I: turned too fast, touched a speed bump, hit even the smallest pot hole or anything that related to an adjustment in the steering. As suspected, the shop immediately tried to wipe their hands clean of whatever was causing the issue the clearly patched up, they told my parents who were the only ones free to take the car in that the car was experiencing issues because of a new scratch, dent and crack in the mirror that messed with the alignment. However, the shop failed to ask if the problem occurred before or after the cosmetic damages, obviously if I'm correcting my review they occurred before any of these damages did. Basically, th shop told me I'm SOL and the issue was because of the new accident (someone clipped my car). I was experiencing the issue long before that but did not have free time and was relying on the "guarantee" provided for the work. Clearly I am S*** out of luck with this garbage shop and will never be bringing my car here again. Best of luck to anyone dealing with these people. I will be calling the BBB in the morning. If I could give this company Negative Stars I would. My car was involved in an accident and needed to be towed . The tow truck was there before the police. I was told that they can tow my vehicle and I would not have to pay out of pocket. Got approval from insurance, there were NO PRICES ON THE TOW ORDER. After speaking to insurance the next day and deciding to take elsewhere as they were not guaranteed through my insurance . Come to find out they charged $750 and had the car less then 24 hours and the car was only towed 5 miles!!!!!! Beware !!!!! I was never told that if I change my mind that they will get $750. That should be illegal. I would be very cautious and would never recommend this company. Horrible experience , beware of "Chasers" !!!! How is it legal to charge $750 for a simple tow that should not of cost more than $150 then hold the car hostage. I am glad I removed my vehicle from there. read more
