The road that leads to the cemetery entrance is run down with some homeless encampments along it. There are about six parking spaces and you can actually drive into the cemetery itself. The one thing that I noticed that was conspicuously absent was a Texas historical sign which you would normally see at older graveyards like this. The cemetery would've been located on the outskirts of Austin in the 1800s, but is of course now surrounded by urban growth. There are quite a number of graves from the 1800s but there are recent burials as well. It is relatively well-maintained and there was even an information booth explaining who is buried where. This cemetery appears to be about 5 acres in size and has hundreds of graves. Many of the graves are from the turn of the 20th century or before, but there are a handful of newer ones. I did find a couple of graves from 2020. Despite looking pretty full, it appears there is still room for those who would like to be interred here. Plenty of pictures below with more information.

I spotted it on Google maps, so with this review, the photos should make it to Google maps. Unfortunately, it is completely overgrown and uncared for which makes it hard to spot from the road. There is a fence that surrounds the perimeter, but it too has seen better days. To add to the confusion, many of the graves are just randomly laid out and in a state of disrepair. Little to no effort has been made to restore the grounds. Most of the markers are cast in concrete, not granite, leading me to believe this may be an African-American graveyard. It appears some members of the public have set up a few benches at the fence perimeter, but no restoration has been attempted. If you come here in the summertime and the weeds are high, you may run across a snake. You will need jeans and boots to get through all the scrub and stickers. Apart from a Texas historical marker, there is no additional information that I could find other than in the photos below.

It was definitely established long before all this western expansion arrived. It is now surrounded on all sides by apartments, businesses and homes. However, the cemetery is not that old and there are no markers from the 1800s. Almost all of the headstones are recent or from a few decades back. It occupies about an acre full of weeds that are occasionally mowed. It is called the Brown cemetery, but the name Cooper pops up a lot here along with a few others. For the most part, this cemetery looks largely cobbled together with graves randomly laid out amongst the sprawling trees. There's a few graves that were hardly marked at all. There was a phone number on the gate, but no kiosk as to whom the deceased that lay here are. There is no Texas historical sign found here either. It is still an active cemetery with some space left, but it's unlikely to be open to the general public. As the photos and video below point out, this place is probably not worth visiting.

I've driven down Lamar Boulevard thousands of times and I never knew this graveyard sat just a few…read morehundred feet from the road. It sits directly behind the walnut creek Baptist church on top of a hill. There are graves that date as far back to the 1880s, but most are from the 20th century and newer. It is a well-maintained and manicured cemetery with a road that allows you to drive into it. The most notable names I saw in numbers here were Gault and Neans. To a lesser extent there was also Morrow and Sweet. I did not find a Texas historical marker nor did I see anywhere that had a full listing of those interred here. It's possible the church next to the graveyard may well have that information. The cemetery appears to have almost reached near capacity, but there's still a little space left for future residents. Most of the graves that sit within this 2 to 3 acre enclosure are primarily from the 20th century and later. There are a handful of stones from the 1800s. This is still a very active cemetery with many well adorned gravesites from the surviving family members. The cemetery looks relatively well-maintained although a handful of older headstones are lying on their sides. There is still some space for future interments, but it is mostly full. There are three entrances to the property with a single gravel lane winding through the property. For the most part the graves are laid out in neat rows and some family plot areas, but there is still a little bit of randomness in some of the graves as to how they fit in. I did spot three historical names here that are tied to Austin/Round Rock history. There were several graves dedicated to the name Gattis (Gattis School Rd) and Boatright and at least one to Bohls. The Boatright name seemed to be the most prominent name in the cemetery. Two other names that I found in number here are Templeton and Summers. There are some service members buried here along with 3 confederate soldiers, 2 of them are of the Boatright name. If you're looking for a forever home or just want to check out some names of history, this place is worth a visit.

The cemetery is surrounded by farm land on all sides which adds to its peaceful nature. The graves here span from the 1870s all the way to the present day. Despite being located way out in the country, it has been well taken care of over the years and the gravestones are in very good condition. This is still a very much active graveyard as there were several fresh graves from 2022 awaiting headstones. I found this cemetery to be very interesting and diverse. The cemetery is completely surrounded by the Searight Village development located on Slaughter road and it sits directly behind the neighborhood mailboxes. It is a very small cemetery with about four graves and it is surrounded by a 20 x 30' fence. The gate is padlocked and requires special permission to enter. The graves are from the late 1800s and some care has been taken to reconstruct their markers.
