Cremation Green - Austin Funeral Home

Cremation Green - Austin Funeral Home

We are beyond words in expressing our gratitude to the entire Cremation.Green team. When our…read morebeautiful13-year-old daughter passed from Ewing Sarcoma at MDA in Houston, we were initially transferred to another facility for cremation -- a rushed process that left us uneasy because the facility was so cold and nothing like what we expected for our sweet girl. Late that evening, while searching for a place that would truly honor her, we found Cremation.Green. We called close to 9 p.m., and Laci answered with such compassion and understanding. She immediately helped us make arrangements, and by the next morning, they sent a vehicle and our daughter was lovingly brought to their farm. The experience was beyond what we could have hoped for. We were able to watch the entire cremation and send her off ourselves -- something that brought immense peace and closure. The facility was modern, serene, and absolutely beautiful, with a viewing room designed in the warmest, most comforting way imaginable. When we walked out with her ashes, the wind was softly blowing, and the trees and windmill seemed to wave us on. In that moment, we felt a deep sense of calm and gratitude. We are forever thankful to Cremation.Green for creating such a sacred, dignified, and loving space for our little birdie's farewell.

What makes Austin a great city is its community and when I was faced with finding a funeral home to…read moretake my husband's body it was traumatizing. Luckily the city has support services that help you in the process and the counselor they sent did a google search and found this place because I wanted to deal with a place that was close to home. They had a list of funeral homes and cost for cremation from traditional funeral homes was exorbitant just for the cremation not including transport, storage, fees, etc. So we found this place and the counselor called this place on my behalf. It took about an hour for them to get the body and later that afternoon I was able to talk with them on what services I needed. Pricing is very transparent and they handle almost all of the paperwork online. I was able to select the urn, extra death certificates, and get it expedited. they handle all of the paperwork and filing and you even get an obituary page with unlimited words. There was a slight hiccup with the Dr delaying the signature in the death certificate but it was resolved quickly and it took less than a month to receive my husband's ashes. On top of that it's carbon neutral and they use the cleanest technologies. They offer other services like green burials or water cremation as well. I didn't opt for a viewing but they also provided services around that too. Since I live central my pick up was off 290 but they also have a couple other locations further north or south. If you're looking for an alternative that is environmentally friendly and won't break the bank I can say this is a good option.

I first used Austin Peel and Son for their direct cremation service for my dad's passing in 2003…read moreand the service was great then. Our friend passed away unexpectedly Feb 18, 2021 during the COVID locked down and the services they provided this time was truly extraordinary - especially Victoria. It was a very difficult situation as the next of kin and the family live in Hong Kong. From the first conversation we had with Victoria in Feb.... She provided detail explanation of the whole process, the direct cremation service, interaction with medical examiner office, timeline, expectation, and then the actual cremation event. The most extraordinary service Victoria provided was her willingness to go over and beyond to pack the remain per USPS and international shipping specs. Miraculously the package arrived in Hong Kong the day of the Zoom memorial service! The family and all of us were truly touched. Victoria was there every step of the way and communicated effectively and timely even after office hours due to the time difference in Hong Kong. This week we finally had closure with Victoria receiving and mailing to Hong Kong and I the official death certificate. I will highly recommend Austin Peel and Son and Victoria without any reservation.

The video was well put together too, TV's all over the funeral home were showing my uncle. They definitely showed empathy. definitely went above and beyond for me and my family.

However, Ms. Minh Anh (funeral coordinator)…read moreand the funeral director at Cook-Walden ensured that both my aunt and uncle (unrelated) had a beautiful and respectful service. Ms. Minh Anh was incredibly knowledgeable about Buddhist funeral customs and fluent in English and Vietnamese, which was comforting for both older Vietnamese speaking relatives and younger English speaking relatives. My mom was grateful that Ms. Minh Anh walked her through everything step by step and was reliable, communicative, and accessible from beginning to end whenever there were concerns. She also assisted with preparing decor and furniture for the Buddhist funeral. Since our family had to leave to go to the temple after the casket lowering, we could not see the grave being covered with soil/grass turf. For this reason, we were super touched that Ms. Minh Anh sent us a photo afterward of the covered grave site to our family members so that they were updated and reassured. Ms. Minh Anh shared that she wanted to help other families with the funeral process after her dad passed. This was evident in the thought and care she put into the funeral service, and we are forever grateful for her, the funeral director, and Cook-Walden.

My mother has been there 3 weeks and I have no idea what's going on, They don't answer the phones,…read morethey don't return the calls left at their answering service,. and I have various entities chastising me for the want of a death certificate, which they haven't even transmitted to the Office of Vital Records yet. It must have been a miracle that I even got through to this company on the first try to book and pay the full fees up front for this total lack of service. There's absolutely no way I can wait another 3-5 weeks for them to generate the physical death certificates which I also paid for up front and now I have to go down to Vital Records and pay for them again. When and IF this company ever submits the records to them. And I have no way of knowing that until I go down there in person and fill out the forms and pay the non-refundable fee even if the record still isn't on file file yet. Today their phones don't even kick over to the answering service. Which is is the third time in two weeks that I can't even leave a message for a callback (which they would of course have ignored again). If I don't speak with somebody there today, I'm back-charging with the bank and having her rescued and taken to another service provider.
