Oh my - not sure even where to start. Just started with Kellie, heard her talk about working with people with sugar addictions. Anyone that knows me, knows that addiction isn't a strong enough word when it comes to me and sugar - my breath could put a diabetic into a coma!! Having been able to give up sugar for short periods of time, hanging on by my fingernails - think of trying to put a big cat into a bathtub; never long term, and always a huge binge cycle afterwards. I had a fantastic time with Kellie at Burbank Hypnosis and would strongly recommend her to others. I initially sought her out to help deal specifically with a fear of flying and anxiety towards travel, but by the end of my sessions with her I was surprised at how much progress I made with general stress reduction in my life. I was immediately won over by her free consultation -- if you're skeptical of hypnosis for some reason, or worried about having to pay for sessions you might lose interest in, you should at least take advantage of the free first meeting. Kellie gives you her full attention, walks you through the process and expectations, and you'll quickly get a sense of her personality. I liked talking with her and felt confident in her style, so after the first consultation I went ahead and paid for a few weekly sessions in the lead-up to a vacation I was taking. I told her that I had the specific goal of being ready by the time I took the trip, and she helped arrange her sessions accordingly. You start by learning how to be hypnotized, practice being hypnotized by her, then move on to exercises in visualization, self-awareness, and then eventually self-hypnosis. She would send me specific tracks from self-hypnosis tapes that were relevant to what we had discussed, and a big part of the process was practicing at home. I really enjoyed feeling like a participant in my own improvement, and Kellie was very good at helping me be self-aware without an iota of criticism or judgment. It's also very encouraging that her explicit goal is to help you go home and continue the same practices long after you've finished with Burbank Hypnosis. It's very different and more goal oriented than seeing a therapist or someone you might develop a more open-ended relationship with. But I was most surprised by how well she addressed larger issues in my life. She saw that, beyond my fear of flying, I was extremely anxious and stressed because I was overcommitting myself, both professionally and personally. She very kindly helped me reflect on that and gave me permission to take care of myself and be a more confident person. This was an emotional and profound moment for me, and I think often on how much this insight made me a much happier and healthier person. In the end, the hypnosis worked exactly as advertised -- I was less stressed on my flight and vacation than I had been in years, to the delight of me and my wife. I also used what I'd learned to spend the beginning of 2018 focusing on myself and not my work, saying no to projects and people that I would've normally committed to without a second thought. I feel like I've finally tamed an anxiety that was threatening to overwhelm my life. And in a happy post-script, I just started making plans for a big international trip in a couple of months, and I couldn't be more excited - something I couldn't have imagined when I started working with her.
