I am a retired counselor/psychotherapist who strongly believes in the benefits of therapy for personal growth. Whenever I have a "sticky" personal issue, I search for the type of therapist I think can best help me get "un-stuck" and begin moving forward with my goals and development process. This time around, my "issue" was creating a good deal of anxiety for me. Logic and intuition told me that hypno-therapy could be the answer. I researched different hypno-therapists in my area (as you are doing now), and was pretty impressed by the positive reviews for Clarice Barkhordarian. Too good to be true? Even with high expectations based on the reviews, I have been "blown away" by Clarice's skill, and the efficiency of the hypnotherapy method! I walked away from the first session feeling significantly calmer, and started sleeping better that first night. After 5 sessions, I am managing the situations and interactions that that had felt so paralyzing only weeks before. I am able to access essentially all of my intuition and interpersonal skills to cope what life (and family) is throwing my way. Needless to say, "your results may vary." Like I said, I've been working on personal growth my whole adult life. Your situation may require more time. I recently had a life changing event that left me really depressed, elevated levels of anxiety and fear and other issues and know that I need help. My world crashed and I'm broken in pieces. I am seeing a therapist but I feel like I needed something more and I need it NOW. I did my research about hypnotherapy (which made me scared but excited) and found Clarice on yelp. Mrs Clarice Barkhordarian helped me very much in my life. I came to realization that every negative feelings that I was going through, was a snap shot of my childhood emotions. I was not able to feel the emotions because it was very painful to feel the negative emotions. With her kindness and her expertise, I was able to go deep through my emotions and clear main false perceptions and expectations of myself as well as others. Being a health care professional and knowing and understanding about the medication and anatomy and physiology of brain and body as a whole, I now know that everyone needs hypnotherapy sessions because whatever we go through on a daily basis are due to our sub conscious mind. Being able to recognize our feelings and able to feel whatever we feel puts me in a better position mentally and physically. I can not thank enough her to teach me the importance of emotions. I have to confess that before my first sessions I had a little bit understanding of sub conscious mind but I didn't know that our life depends on our subconscious mind. I don't usually write reviews but I want more people to seek her help and guidance. She's the real deal! And this is coming from someone who is very skeptical about hypnotherapy, or therapy in general. I had tried hypnotherapy in the past and never really felt any significant change nor do I believe I was ever in a hypnotic state. But this time it was different! Feeling like it was time to get serious about quitting smoking, a friend gave me Clarice's information. I made the call and was received right away. Within the next month a new me was born. Long before I met Clarice, a friend of mine told me she had used hypnosis to quit smoking. I was skeptical. So, when I was finally ready to quit, I spent a couple of years trying all kinds of approaches, which never stuck. Thankfully, a friend introduced me to Clarice! I had intended to see her purely for smoking, but in our first session, she immediately perceived that I actually needed some work on a few other issues first, so it was a few sessions before we started the cigarette work. But I felt immediate relief in other areas, and began the work I'm continuing with Clarice to this day. As soon as I completed the first non-smoking session, I was done with cigarettes. And Clarice was fantastic in the early stages - calling to check on me, adding extra sessions if I was having a difficult time, helping me consciously (and subconsciously!) to change my habits. I have now been a non-smoker for more than 2 years - something many of my friends didn't think would ever be possible. Clarice is a Godsend and I don't believe in God! I visited her to help me quite smoking and I can say that I haven't picked up a cigarette since then (It's been approx 1 1/2 weeks). I know that isn't a long time BUT, it has been so incredibly easy that I know I will succeed permanently. I went to Clarice because I wanted stop my alcoholic dependency. My drinking over the years had gotten worse and I wanted to know why and to break the vicious cycle. Clarice is a great therapist because she uses her knowledge, experience and in my opinion her ability to narrow down the root of the problem and focusing on how to overcoming your negative condition by positive reinforcement. I was refered to Clarice by a good friend of mine and like anything new, I had my doubts of this even working, especially since I been dealing with anxiety disorder for most of my life. When I first started we talked about what issues I was dealing with it and what may have caused it. Her insight and her positvie reinforcement not only helped me with different perspectives that I had never thought about, but the courage to over come the fear and/or anxiety I was dealing with. I notice this when I first attempted the advice she gave me after our first session and I did something that usually caused me to have anxiety (elevators). I was surprised on how calm I was when I was in the elevator and when the doors opened to my floor, I deceide to not off the elevator and ride it again down. I not only surprise my self but also my wife who was there to encourage and support me. This is one of the experiences that she has helped me with to over come my disorder.
