I got a quick response for my inquiry re: hypnosis therapy. It has worked VERY WELL for me in past ( other business). They weee recommended by a psychiatrist too. BUT they do not BILL your insurance. After $500 ( forgot how many sessions), they will give you a SuperBill that you can send to your own insurance for whatever amount they allow. I'm very lucky that I have a good mental health coverage, but this kind of billing doesn't work for me. If it did, I would be glad to have used them.. read more

I picked up a pretty heavy smoking habit over the past year due to work related stress. I was a week into quitting smoking with the transdermal patch system and felt I needed some additional help to make sure I didn't relapse. Having tried twice (and failed) to quit with just the patch I realized that my problem involved more than just a chemical nicotine addiction. I found Julia through online research and Yelp and I am exceptionally pleased that I selected her for my first experience with Hypnotherapy. I'm sure a lot of people have gross misconceptions about what hypnotherapy is and isn't. Having practiced some meditation in my life I had some idea of what I might expect. I was very happy the process started with an initial phone conversation so that Julia could make an assessment and inform me about the Hypnotherapy process even more. My first session was probably the most profoundly relaxing experience I've ever had in my life. Far beyond any meditation I had practiced before. I left the office in an exceptionally peaceful state of mind. I really felt that my mind was "reset" towards a new direction and I had zero desire to smoke anymore. I even abandoned the need for the patch system I was using 24 hours later. I just felt I didn't need it anymore and dropped it with over a month left to go. The following 2 hypnotherapy sessions just solidified my mindset towards smoking. It's almost as if I feel astonished at even the idea that I even USED to smoke. I don't think Hypnotherapy is a magical cure all. However, I do believe it is an exceptionally powerful tool that can really help people. Just like one instinctively puts their foot on the brake when driving and seeing an obstacle, one's mind can instinctively put the break on going for a cigarette (as in my case) during stressful situations. The subconscious mind can develop bad habits and negativity over time just like it can develop driving reflexes. Using Hypnotherapy to help reset one's subconscious on the right track made perfect logical sense to me. And I am grateful for Julia's professionalism and expertise in helping me quit smoking. A couple of thoughts from my first time experience with Hypnotherapy: 1. You do not loose control of your free will and the therapist can't "play around with your mind" and manipulate you. Julia made me feel very safe and comfortable during my treatment sessions. However I was always aware of what she was saying to me and felt that I could "come out of it" on my own free will whenever I wanted to. 2. You must want to be hypnotized. I feel that you need to have a basic understanding of your subconscious/ conscious mind and trust the process, which can seem odd, and trust your Hypnotherapist. I feel that if I resisted entering my subconscious the treatment would not have been as effective. 3. Julia gave me links to audio Hypnotherapy tools and while I felt they worked well as maintenance, the actual sessions were twice as effective and powerful for me. 4. I feel my 3 Hypnotherapy sessions worked 100% in helping me quit smoking. I also feel that the results will last a very long time. However I also feel that the habit could develop again sometime in the future. Time and circumstances might force the bad habit back into my life (as could any other bad habit). I cannot tell you how much Julia has helped me in the 5 sessions I've attended. I've had a serious problem with lateness my entire life. (and I'm in my 7th decade on this planet). I was having episodes of blind, uncontrollable rage, especially when it came to my personal relationships. It was adversely affecting my partner, my work habits, and my own self-esteem. I tried traditional therapy; I took anger management classes; I read several books on anger, both secular and religious; I went to a few Rageaholics Anonymous meetings; I went on meditation retreats.
