I have been to this Buns location three times, and I really wish I could rate it higher. The concept is great, and the food is very good for what it is (burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, etc.). Ingredients are fresh and food is well-seasoned and flavorful. So why two stars? The service is awful, they seem to be perpetually very understaffed in the kitchen. Every time I have been here, we have ordered 2 burgers/sandwiches and one order of fries. And every time, it has taken 45+ minutes for our food to come out. This is supposed to be a "fast casual" place; people don't come here planning to spend over an hour, so the clientele is always cranky too. Every time I'm here, multiple customers go up to the cashier asking about their order because it's taking so long. The service at the similar concept MOD near Vassar is 100x better if you're looking for a fresh local burger place. read more

I loved my visit to Bun Burgers. I had the lamb burger with fries and their hibiscus ginger flavored beer...all was super YUM! The lamb burger had a twist of spice from their unique sauce, the fries were garlicky and wonderfully seasoned. The beer was sweet but not too sweet and very refreshing. Seeing Buns Burgers open at the new location in Eastdale is a great addition to the mid-lower Hudson Valley. I was very happy to finally give it a try, with other reviews and photos I've seen at different locations. The interior of the food establishment is pretty small and kind of cramped, which may be intimidating to some. Improving it would be beneficial in the long run. Just make sure to leave enough room, especially while ordering. There are a couple of tables in the middle and also window bar stools. For alternatives, they also offer takeout. The menu has quite a variety when it comes to burgers, offering single and double patties for each category. Also, for variety, they provide sandwiches, containing grilled chicken, crispy fried chicken, and finally hot dogs. Let me tell you, the Orginal Bun I ordered was extremely tasty, along with the fries. The milkshake, made from Boice's Milk House and Adirondack Creamery is on the A-game, so tasty even without the whipped cream, which by the way isn't offered. I'll be honest, pricing was a bit of an eye-sore, but worth it anyway, keeping that in mind. Take advantage of the lunch combo that's offered. Customer service was wonderful and everything was taken care of, and any questions were answered. They had enough staff to keep things running smoothly. My husband and I went to Buns Burgers for lunch. Fortunately, they had one veggie burger option. The staff were sweet and friendly. Service was quick. They had milkshakes and some side options. Just not what you'd expect from a burger joint. The burger has decent flavor but the meat was so dry. That's the thing you want to experience when eating a burger. Chicken nuggets are even dry and lack flavor. Only writing for restaurants benefit. Has potential just not there yet read more

I hate to say it because I love a good burger and this place is very close to me, but Buns Burgers is a fairly terrible burger. Been there twice and I can now say I'm done. Their other sandwiches (the ones I have tried) and fries are unexceptional, too. The beef patty is extremely thin and tasteless. It's cooked unevenly with one half pink and the other well done. The toppings are a limp mess and even the cheddar is tasteless. As far as the dirty chicken sandwich, the chicken is beyond dry and the toppings are also a soggy, flavorless mess. It makes chic-fillet seem like haute cuisine. The coleslaw on the sandwich is nearly puréed. The fries are simultaneously limp and overcooked. The first time I went, they were over-salted; the second time, under-salted. Again, no flavor. This place is clearly using the lowest quality foodservice frozen meat and ingredients. They also have a minuscule grill, so the minute a line forms, you know your order will take a while. I have to preface this is an unbiased opinion and merely preference. Service was great Food was a bit below expectations. Fries tasted like oily chips and were very salty so if you have a cholesterol issue beware. Cheeseburger was very dry and the Dirty Bird had coleslaw that was more of a puree rather than crunchy which would have added texture. Well they might have gotten a better review but as we were almost done the incredibly loud smoke alarm went off. It was so loud even with my hands over my ears it was ridiculously loud. Could hear it blocks away as we drove off. Another patron said only the Fire Department could shut it off but they were not seen in the area by us. God forbid there was actually a fire! That on top of the horrible acoustics was NOT a pleasant experience. Every time something was thrown into the sink the sound was so loud, plus due to the horrible acoustics it echoed badly! Teach the fry girl to stop throwing metal bowls into the metal sink. Food was just ok. Burgers were quite small in size. Shoestring fries were greasy and none were full size - they were all little pieces of fries. I saw they were cooked fresh. Due to the small size they were cold almost immediately. The buns sauce was ok nothing special. Metal chairs were uncomfortable I wouldn't imagine sitting at the counter on metal bar stools with no backs. The man at the register saying "I'm sorry" was really insufficient in comparison to the screeching loud fire alarm system. Teach your cook how not to burn your buns and set off the smoke alarm!!!! The gentleman at the register was nice when taking our order and money. Seemed to think the fire alarm was amusing. Noise canceling headphones should be provided to the staff. Restaurant should have immediately been evacuated of patrons and staff. The volume of the fire alarm system has to be addressed by the owners. This can't be in compliance with OSHA rules. I ordered a well done burger and received a raw burger. I'm pregnant and need to eat cooked meat. Thank God I looked after taking a bite while driving because I was starving. Of course when I went back they were closed but I ordered my burger well before closing time and plenty of time for the 1/4 pound patty to be cooked fully. This is unacceptable. Happy to see Buns is open. It was fairly crowded for a Saturday night. The fries were amazing! Crispy and hot with just enough salt. My lamb burger was ok. They put too much sauce on it so I could not taste the burger at all. My husband had a double burger but again way too much sauce. Neither of us could taste the meat. So we will have to try it again in the future to see if the burgers are made better so we can get a good taste. For now, just average at best. The milk shakes were delicious though. It would have been nice to have a bit bigger seating area. read more

I went in Saturday night and the line didn't move for 10 minutes. server was making mistakes on delivering food to tables, probably 15 people waiting for there takeout. I left.
