After we walked in one of the waitresses informed us that we can sit wherever we want. I instantly felt like I was inconveniencing her with my presence by the way she said it. Didn't take it personal just yet. What appeared to be the hostess came over a few minutes after we sat down and handed us menus that were very dirty. I looked at my husband and said I am ready to walk out of this place bc I am starving and it looks like they are too short staffed right now which is understandably out of a businesses control sometimes. But wait, instead of the waitress coming to our table to bring water or ask us if we would like a drink, she went to another table with a man and a child that she obviously knew well, and started eating their french fries and talking. That's when we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. So unprofessional. That couldn't wait? I hate to leave a review like this, but if I was the owner of this business, I would not want someone like that working for me, representing what seems to be a great place.

As someone who had been craving vegan bao buns for quite some time, I was thrilled to see them on the menu. The Korean Grill Tofu Buns absolutely delivered and were one of the highlights of the meal. My Wife and I have both had Farmers and Chefs bookmarked in Yelp for quite some time, so finally heading over was so exciting. It was a beautiful day so we headed to the patio. Love the indoor/outdoor bar area. I ordered a dirty martini. Made perfectly. We shared the Farmer's Wings, oysters on a half shell and a mixed green salad with Goat Cheese, soooooo good. My Wife also went with the Salmon & garlic mash served with green beans. Hella Good. Everything was so fresh and tasty. Our server, a very kind gentleman, who's name a cannot remember made our experience even more incredible by going above and beyond to direct the umbrellas just so that the sun wasn't in my Wife's eyes and our view of the walkway wasn't blocked. My friend ordered what she always gets; sirloin with grilled asparagus and a salad. You would think that after the fifth time, in a row, she would would change her order. Considering they never get the steak medium rare until the third or 4th try. The waitresses are always very apologetic, she always tells them "you didn't cook the steak". All the servers know us already, we have been coming here for years. We tip on the pre-BOGO check. The waitstaff still does the same amount of work, even though we're only paying for one meal.

The weather had been pretty mediocre throughout the day but that clearly hadn't stopped the tourists from invading the downtown area - the place was teeming with people when I came in around 3pmish. I didn't do a ton of research on potential eating spots (a lot of SE Asian eateries, which seemed kind of random?) but picked Lola's because it was a block or two from where I parked, and I immediately imprinted on the Short Rib Grilled Cheese when I saw it on the online menu. Decision made. Since it was starting to get a little nicer out, I would have liked a spot outside in the front patio. But the girl at the check-in (I feel like there's a much better term for that) asked me to go inside, which for sure was a bias against the fact that I was a solo diner. I get it in theory, but it's not fun to get treated like a second-class citizen because you don't have a posse with you in a tourist trap. Regardless, the interior was fine; looked like it had been redone within the last year or so; what it lacked in personality it made up for in terms of overall spiffiness (and the area where the personality DID come through was in the bathroom area, with tongue-in-check "Whatever" gender signs on the doors and edgy art by the sinks. Tell me you're a college town without telling me you're a college town.). The set-up in here is more casual than I assumed; I was told that my table was #10 (the numbers were clearly marked on each table, reminiscent of Smashburger), and that once I decided what I wanted, I needed to go up to the counter to order. Someone WOULD serve the food, but a big chunk of the experience is DIY. I ordered the aforementioned Short Rib Grilled Cheese w/ Fries, along with a Diet Pepsi, and waited. I thought this was pretty inefficient, as there were plenty of employees nearby who easily could have just taken my order at the table instead of having me sit down, then stand up and walk across the restaurant to order, and then sit back down. The wait was a little longer than I would have guessed, just given the straightforward order and casual, almost fast-food style to the business model; it took close to 20 minutes to get my sandwich, I'd guess. Not egregious, and there WERE a number of other customers on the premises as well. The Grilled Cheese was just okay - I tend to grade on a curve after a hike, but I thought it was really drippy/greasy, and I wasn't crazy about the tomato compote it came with (which is a personal palate preference and something that WAS specifically referenced on the menu and I didn't request its exclusion; easy to remove, regardless). The short ribs aspect was unsurprisingly the best part. The fries were decent; a little pale but cooked through. There was a pickle hidden underneath them that was a little emotionally upsetting but it is what it is. This was fine and could have been worse, but the next time I'm in town I'm going to keep walking down the street and trying one of the many other options nearby. The target demo for this feels a little more 2am college student than hungry hiker in the afternoon.

They have a vegan version with pea protein and almond milk which was awesome! I happily took this to go but this Vitality Bowls location is a complete vibe to come hang out and do some work or stop in for a quick lunch break. Love their fire place and cute neon sign. I'm a sucker for neon signs hehe. The window tints keep this place nice and cool and you can sit by the window and people/car watch. Plus it's so conveniently located and great as a post grocery run if you go to Aldi. Overall, great spot for a healthy treat. They have $6 wellness Wednesday smoothies!

Probably won't come here again given the LONG wait and steep prices.
