AVOID! My coat was ruined by a table next to a radiator. After initial apologies, they backpedaled and even sent a rude lawyer email. While walking around the waterfront area in Oslo, we came across Bunsburger bar. What a wonderful place to sit and watch the traffic go by, the sunset slowly, and enjoy a brew and burger. The location is ideal, right next to downtown opera house in the short walk from anywhere else in Oslo. The burgers were delicious, the staff were excellent, what a wonderful place to bump into. There isn't much out here in sørenga yet but buns burger bar is definitely worth a visit here and even better if you are local to the area. I've been here a couple times. I've never considered myself to be a burger person, but recently it have dawned on me that a burger can be so much more than a burger. Bun's Burger brings this into it's full glory. Both me and my company ordered The Cowboy and Parmesan/truffle fries. As have been mentioned before, the bun is simply amazing - super fluffy. I did not regret doing a side step from my usual bread free diet. The meat was juicy and very tasty, and the topping of horseradish mayo, mushrooms and blue cheese is perfect. The fries are maybe the best I've tasted - very crispy! And with a hint of garlic in the oil. We went here on a Tuesday evening, on one of the first days of autumn. There was plenty of space under the infrared lights on the outdoors seating, and the Oslo fjord gives a perfect backdrop to the dinner, together with the crisp autumn air and cozy warm seating. We also had a very friendly Swede as our waiter - service minded and genuinely nice. All in all, our dinner was a very pleasant experience. I certainly will return. read more

Was there on 31st May 2023 evening. The service is very poor and food not at all tasty. We waited for more than an hour and then ultimately got pathetic food. The Server had informed tha they are busy so it will take time but he will try to get order for our starters and french fries faster. So we waited patiently but all food was brought together and that too only after we decided to leave as we could see other customers who came later were being served faster. When we asked the waiter ,he said coz we have ordered Mexican and burger both type of food. This made no sense as some of these customers were getting burgers quickly and some Mexican dishes . So his argument made no sense. The worst part was the Mexican food was completely useless. I had ordered Tacos and it is clear their cook does not know how to prepare tacos at all. They were half cooked without any taste. French Fries were ok but completely cold. We has also ordered cheese nachos as starters, They came after the main dishes and were too average. Burger was OK . The food was certainly not worth the wait of more than an hour . The only advantage they have is the location and wonderful views. So if you decide to go ,go when you have lots of time , can stay hungry for good amount of time, and NEVER order their Mexican dishes. We were so disappointed that I am writing the review immediately coming from there. Our first evening as a Tourist to Oslo turned out so discouraging -thanks to them. read more

Bun's Burger Bar gets lots of thumbs up for good food, ambiance and view from the outdoor seating area. Is it my favorite spot, no, will I be back absolutely!!! Personally I feel like Bun's Burger is a little bit out of the way "downtown" Oslo, but I believe it has the potential to become an very attractive place once all the construction finishes at Sørengkaia. That being said, I absolutely love the view of Barcode (Oslo's newly developed skyline) and the Oslo fjord! Our group of 5 arrived at separate times and two of our party ended up ordering after the rest of us but still received their food pretty quickly. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming with playful names and mouthwatering taste combinations. I ordered the Beriusconi, while the rest of our group tasted Ahi Tuna, Dirty Hipster, Widowmaker and The Cowboy. We all loved our burgers. Personally I am no fries lover, but it tasted ok. Crispy on the outside, soft but not saggy but a little bit to salty for my taste. My only and big annoyance is that even when I requested water, I had to ask again half way through my meal before actually getting a pitcher of tap water for our table. Our waiter (English speaker) seemed distant minded and it took a while for us to get a hold of him after we had our food. He also was not capable of recommend two of the dishes we were interested in because, and I am paraphrasing " I don't like spicy food so I didn't care to try it" and "I don't care for veggie burgers either". I remember being very startled by his negativity towards the two burgers (Widowmaker and Dirty Hipster so I got scared and ordered something else. Afterwords I regretted it! Bun's Burger Bar provided a taste of home but just like any other restaurant in Oslo, it came with a heavy price tag! I thought the burgers were alright. The truffle parm fries were pretty good too. Service is alright as well. What makes this place amazing is the HUGE patio and the amazing view. We got to watch the sunset over the waterfront with the Oslo Opera House in the background. Location and view of this restaurant get top score but as for the burger, its mediocre at best. However, during the summer, I will not complain as this and the handful of restaurants in Sørenga are seriously one of the best spot in Oslo to hangout and have a nice evening with dinner! That said, its gonna be a wait but you got all the time you need in the summer, the sun sets after 22:30 anyway... While waiting, you can just grab a beer and people watching! Stop by here last summer (2015), first we spent few hours on the beach and did some swimming. Then got to the restaurant around 19:00 and waited for 30mins, no biggie. Was lucky to get a sit outside and thus, the lovely evening began... Ordered just the regular cheeseburger 149kr, it was nothing special. The patty was relatively good size but somehow lack flavor and seasoning. In fact, I had the feeling that they share the same ingredients and recipe with Munchie coz the patty tasted alike... Service was attentive and friendly. Now why haven't I been here before?! Bun`s burger bar is a relatively small and cozy place located at Sørengkaia with a picturesque view towards Barcode (Oslo`s "Skyline"). They have comfy chairs and nice atmosphere. We were a company of 5 people and the waiter supplied us with a extra chair/table without us even asking for it. The service was good in general and the staff was friendly! I ordered a burger called "The widow maker" which was labeled as "hot" on the menu and classic fries with garlic-mayo dip. The food came relatively quick and tasted fresh and awesome. The burger that were labeled as "hot" weren't but besides from that I have nothing bad to say about it. In fact I recommend it, just tell the waiter to actually make it "hot"! The fries were cooked just perfect and were crispy, not soggy nor rockhard. The garlic-mayo dip was also excellent and tasty. I also tasted the banana split and brownie from the dessert menu. They were both very good and highly recommendable. So if you are a sucker for burger places like I am, then go an indulge yourself! read more

This restaurant/bar was a great place to hang out and eat with friend and lay's on a very nice location in Oslo. They had alot of great music playing in the background, nice vibes and people in all ages there. The food was nice, and I liked that they only had a few meal's - but they nailed them all! This burger restaurant will do well (for the interum!!) primarily because it is the only one of its kind in the new seafront development of Sørenga. It´s in a great location. Has seemingly friendly staff. The burgers are tasty. And there is creative assortment to select from. BUT where this eatery disappoints (as do all the other `gourmet´burger joints in Oslo and Norway for that matter), is in the small burgers, AND in the fact that you have to order fries on the side at an extra cost of NOK 40. Now that´s a bit steep when you´re expected to pay upward of NOK130 for the burger alone. In most decent eateries in Great Britain, America and Australia, you would be expected to provide fries and coleslaw as a complimentary side. Stop being greedy and cash focused. And focus more on higher turnover and giving more value for people´s hard earned money. Then you might do well! read more

I have tried most burger bars in Oslo and this is one of the better imo. Tasty juicy meat and soft fresh bun. I find it strange that some people here call the burgers smalI. Ordered the Bypass burger with sweet potato fries. Both were delicious! Sweet potato fries were so sweet and crispy with a hint of cinnamon, delicious! Burger was very flavorful and juicy.
