First time coming in. I was greeted by a thin Asian lady who had worn a mask. I told her this is our first time, and we're here to take a look. She said, ok. Go look around. So I took my client to check out the next room. I saw another person and asked if we were able to come in? He said, ya that's ok. So we walked in. Looking at all the animals. Being respectful, not touching anything. We barely walked in. And the lady came back saying we weren't allow to be in there. Then why don't you have a sign? She said, are you serious about buying? A wonderful place for rabbit hay, treats, and toys. Everything is easy to order on their website, and they have curbside pick up. My bunny loves the hay from here -- it's super fresh, and such a great deal. I'd rather drive further to come here than to those chain pet stores like Petco. They also help rescue rabbits and chinchillas, and offer services to care for your pets while you're away on vacation. Bunny bunch is a place that helps to rescue bunnies and sometimes chinchillas. They also have a store that helps to support them. They have some of the best prices around for rabbit food, as well as for other small animals that have diets to rabbits. They have two locations. Ever since I have been going there my bunnies will not eat hay from any other location. The hay is locally sourced and thoroughly gone through to make sure it is top quality for the bunnies and other animals. Plus you really can't beat their price on oxbow pellets. They have the best prices around, beating the largest and smallest box stores around. It was always worth my drive every other month into Montclair to pickup my bunnies supplies. When you call the store number you are more then likely going to be talking directly to the owner Caroline. She is fabulous she'll help you out with any question you have about your bunny. During the pandemic they stayed open. You would order your supplies online or place the order by phone. Then when you got to the store of your choosing you would call and they would place you order outside for you. They also ship to your house as well. Which has been great. Shipping is a little expensive but you can't beat when you have a little bunny that refuses to eat any other hay and you now live in another state. If you are looking to adopt a bunny they have some great bunnies up for adoption that are looking for a forever home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has bunnies or critters that have similar diets. They are the best. We surrendered our 3 bonded rabbits here. After getting married I found out my new husband was deathly allergic to them when he was hospitalized our first day in our new house. I bought a hutch outside lined it with hay for them and they could go inside of it and they had a section of yard to roam in for over a year. They dug tunnels to stay cool but had escaped a few times and it worried me sick. I wanted them to live indoors and never be separated and live like they used to before we moved. I didn't want to give them up but I knew they deserved better than living outside. I just wanted them to be happy. They were so tame and loving and were beautiful and highly adoptable. Giving them up was hard. My 9 year old daughter and I cried our eyes out for weeks but was promised updates on their adoption and life which made the process less traumatic. I never got any updates. When I would ask I felt like I was a burden and Just received one text saying "they are fine" and that was it. I searched their website, IG and Facebook for months (I still search) trying to see if they were adopted and they were never ever posted on the sites. I still don't know what happened to my babies and it's been 7 months and it still drives me crazy. I sit up at night wondering if they are ok and if they were separated. I didn't want them to ever be separated. She even posted bad about me online saying my bunnies were left out as coyote food while people bashed me in comments. It was disgusting and my daughter still cries and wonders what happened to them. It breaks my heart that we will never know. Now I see these reviews online about bunnies being crammed in a smelly warehouse in their own poo and I am just sick about it. Are my bunnies there?! We loved those bunnies so much and took amazing care of them despite them living outdoors. It was unfortunate circumstances but by no means we're we terrible people and owners as we were portrayed online. This situation was heartbreaking. Not what I expected. read more

I adopted a rabbit here from a couple months ago. Unfortunately she didn't work out for me, and they were extremely understanding in the process of my return. I can see how the vetting process prior to adoption can seem a bit extreme, but I have a well-taken care of rabbit at home already and passed the checks pretty easily. A lot of people get a rabbit and don't know how to properly care for it, and I appreciate that they care enough to make sure the bunnies go to good homes and don't have to live in tiny cages. The volunteers at the shelter are super nice and helpful. When I visited pre-COVID, it was clean inside and they were able to answer all my questions. I've seen some reviews criticizing the shelter setup and saying that they expect you to have a pen bigger than they have, which I don't understand because they're not supposed to live in the shelter forever. This is a no-kill shelter, it makes sense that they'd have to sacrifice some comfort for the rabbits in order to make room for as many as possible. Again, they just want to make sure the rabbits get adopted to a good home. There's also a nice selection of stuff in their store, their prices are pretty competitive. You can't shop in the store currently due to COVID but it's really easy to order things from the website and the curbside pickup is really quick. read more

Not sure how so many people can give such bad reviews about this place. More than half of them are about the problems they have with giving away the animal they CHOSE at one point as an owner to make their familly. They do what they can to provide the service we want. I went in for my rabbit oats and was greeted by Caroline herself. She gave me SOOO much knowledge about my bunny that I didn't receive online. This conversation lasted about 25 minute in between answering calls, checking people out, and grooming bunnies. This place is a volunteer based community. They thrive on donations. If you feel the service is so bad consider volunteering so you can understand what really goes into it and why they may not get to your text or give an immediate greeting. The fact that you're attempting to bash a community that strives so hard to ensure animals get the best care they can is insane. I can understand if the founder was sitting in her mansion taking calls from her couch but she is up every day working hard to ensure the business is running and the bunnies are taken care of. Not sure what more you can expect. My experience was great and I hope people don't allow the negativity to weigh their decision. Stop in and form your own opinion. I've been looking for a place to bring my bun to get his nails trimmed (bc he's very stubborn) and so I brought my bunny here for the first time last month. My sister always brought her rabbit here for grooming, boarding, etc. They have a full grooming service and my bunny always looks so good after and his nails are perfectly trimmed! So far, I've brought him here twice and he looks so happy after. The staff is always so welcoming and kind, and they let us walk around the store to look around. They still enforce masks, which I love because it's always good to be safe. I used to go to petsmart to look for things for my rabbit but I'll be coming here from now on. They have so many cute and unique things for rabbits specifically, and I'm excited to purchase more from them. Overall, I love this place! I rescued recently our Male Holland Lop from Bunny Bunch. Didn't know rabbits need to be bonded first. Caroline did FaceTime bonding sessions with me, showing me exactly how to bond our buns. They were both quite stubborn. Our female was use to having run of the house. It took a few weeks but now they are completely bonded! They run and play together and it definitely brings a smile to our face every time we see them binking around. It is a process adopting them, you can't just go in and buy a bunny. They need to make sure you have the space, send in pictures, no allergies and a phone interview ect...but they want to be sure the buns are going to be well loved and taken care when they leave bunny bunch. It's just like if you were adopting a child. The buns will be your children and when I was reading the comments on how people are offended by that blows my mind. Pet stores don't care of how you'll take care of your animal and then it lands up at a shelter. They want to make sure the buns don't have to go back. Think of how the buns would feel if they're going from foster home, to bunny bunch, to a home and then back to bunny bunch and then get adopted again. That stresses them out. Caroline is the owner and very knowledgeable but I'll have you know she loves those buns and has had FaceTimes with me at 7:30 at night to help me bond my babies. You can't look at this place like a pet store...you're adopting and you shouldn't get hurt if they're trying to educate you. Is adopting a baby easy, nope but you'll do what you have to if you want to rescue a bunny from them because they really care. I don't know if those people are talking about poop all over the floor know that rabbits poop all over the floor everyday. Even if they are litter box trained poop with still show up on you carpet or floors. Some rabbits that are there might not be neutered yet and spray everywhere and yes it smells. They neuter their rabbits before they come to you and you don't know where they are in the process. So you can read all these negative ratings but as for our family we appreciate all the work Bunny Bunch does on protecting these buns and making sure the go to forever loving homes. read more

I hate to leave a negative review for any animal rescue but I had such a negative experience here. I have owned rabbits since I was a little girl, and I also organize events working with non profits to help them bring in funds and increase awareness. I spoke with the owner on the phone and explained how we do our events and she confirmed with me verbally and told me to drive down Friday for the paperwork. I drove down there which was not a short drive for me, and was told that she would be with me in 10 minutes. We waited about 45 minutes. The facility was a windowless warehouse and honestly it seemed very disorganized and unkempt. I was getting a bad feeling about working with this organization but I don't like to back out of an agreement. Well when we finally met with the owner she literally acted like we had never had this conversation on the phone, and was extremely rude and belittling. I was so upset that I didn't even finish the conversation. I just left. The vibe from the facility, and the owner were just not something that I felt comfortable partnering with. read more

Very rude. Went in to look at Guinea pigs and was not acknowledged or greeted which wasn't the issue at first. My fiancé then asked an employee if we were able to see the Guinea pigs and in a very annoyed voice they said " no but you can let me know when you're ready to check out" with out even turning to talk to her. As we looked at the only animals in the front of the counter the cashier again didn't acknowledge us instead he stared and then finally said " were you gonna get anything?". Really wanted to adopt but i won't be retuning and other buyers should beware they're only taking appointments which they never told us they told it the next person who walked in to see the animals and it was just us three there with no one else so i don't see what the harm was in letting people who were willing to adopt go check them out but their attitudes were enough for me. read more

Adopted a pair of chinchillas here! What an incredibly educational and fun experience it has been! My daughter is the main caretaker and is loving every moment with her two boys! Caroline and Marisol were very helpful while we were getting the cage ready, they made sure we had everything we needed to keep the chinchillas safe, healthy and happy. We thought the adoption fee for the pair was reasonable and we were glad to support such a wonderful organization! We plan on using Bunny Bunch for boarding when we go on vacations. I was going to make the 45 minute drive (again) to bring my dogs up there to see if they would bond or attack, and I was even going to go get another cage (even tho I had one the exact same size as theirs at the facility in the back of my car, but they said it wasn't big enough) but the second that lady told me that I really needed to check with my husband..... girl, please. Bunny bunch is such an incredible rescue and resource! I love how responsible they are when it comes to teaching their potential adopters about how to truly care for a rabbit. We have adopted 2 bunnies and been a foster home for Bunny Bunch. Caroline, the founder & owner, is truly the rabbit queen. She has been so helpful to us and saved our bunnies' lives on more than one occasion. She knows her STUFF! People complaining on here honestly just don't realize how much work rabbits are and should be thanking Bunny Bunch for educating them or stopping them from making a massive mistake! I love this place, but I think they should have a dedicated person to answer emails/texts. At this point, I believe it's only Caroline who deals with all of them, but she's really busy and it can be difficult to hear back from them. I don't feel comfortable cutting my guinea pig's nails myself because he's so skittish, so I rely on them to do it every month. I've come to rely on them for grooming and boarding, so it can be a bit nerve-wracking when I don't hear back from them. Was scrolling down reading the reviews for this place as I have visited the Bunny Bunch for adoptions, nail clippings, and supplies for the past year and have never had a negative experience. In the one-star reviews I repeatedly see, the words that they felt stupid (while being educated about the bunny care), were not able to take them home immediately, and that they had to fill out an application with a "house check". If these measures were not in place the issue is the bunnies will likely be rehoused and end up back at the Bunny Bunch. If there was no was no need for education about the rabbits, the public would be informed enough and there would be no need for re-homing and rabbits rescued from poor living situations. The Bunny Bunch has seen a lot of very very bad situations that the rabbits were rescued from, so sometimes they have to be strong and prevent a rabbit getting homed in a situation where it may be obvious that they are not prepared to take on this new commitment. Also, I am not sure if anyone has ever tried to house 40-50 rabbits even with a volunteer cleaning and sweeping the cage area constantly. It does normally smell a little especially because it is in a confined, air-conditioned room. It has absolutely nothing to do with how they care for the animals. My buns and I are big fans of The Bunny Bunch! BB is my go-to for all my supply needs (hay, treats, pellets, toys, etc.) and for all my bunny grooming needs (brushing, nail trims, scent glad cleaning). Recently, we even adopted our third bunny (Aladdin) from Bunny Bunch (our third bunny overall but the first from BB). The adoption process was thorough but simple at the same time. We didn't have to jump through a million hoops and yet BB still ensured that we had the experience, supplies, and expectations needed to properly take care of the little guy. We also bring our buns here for their holiday photos. In fact, we fell in love with Aladdin while we were there simply for our other two bunnies' Halloween portraits! Everyone at Bunny Bunch is very nice and incredibly helpful. One area of improvement that I have seen is that it would be great for volunteers to be more knowledgeable of the going-ons and happenings. read more

Our home was having work done so we had to board our bun here for a few days. Food, a hide box and hay was provided with the cost of boarding. I left him with a tunnel to play in (just a simple pet tunnel). No major complaints about the care he received. They gave him some spinach one of the days, which he hates but that is him being a picky bun (he usually gets an abundance of greens so he has high standards). However, I've been trying to schedule an appointment to get my rabbits groomed and it's been such a pain. I text the number which I guess is the owner no reply. I get she's busy 100% not a problem but why not give another number so people can get a hold of the shelter for adoptions. You can't walk in to adopt, you can't adopt without her approval. You can't adopt without arranging play date- all great but not great when she's the only one managing two shelters and overwhelmed- unable to respond. They cry for people to adopt and foster and even after offering she still can't get it together. It is the most difficult shelter to adopt from. So I went to petco. read more

Back in 2002, I got my first bunny from a pet store, but I was introduced to Bunny Bunch by a friend that worked at Petsmart and she said they gave free nail trims and rabbit care advice at my friend's location. I learned more from them than I ever would have known to care for my beloved bunny companion. In 2003, I decided to adopt a friend for my 1st bun, Benjamin, through TBB, an adorable rex w/ personality. I now have Cotton whom I adopted from them last summer and he's a handsome, spunky little addition to the family. All of their rabbits are spayed or neutered upon adoption and litterbox trained. This place is still amazing! I have done their curbside pick up due to COVID. However, when I went in February (before the mass hysteria) the older lady that cut my buns nails was extremely rude. She talked to me like I was an idiot, for asking if she needed me to hold my bun for her. Then she rudely said "okay, you need to move out of the light...or I can't cut her nails, because your standing in my light." I understand that she was frustrated, but she could have just asked me. It's not like I could tell I was in her light, I was just trying to make sure she didn't need my help with MY RABBIT. This lady is RUDE, I don't understand how she expects to get many donations after being rude to all of her guests. I have seen her on multiple occasions, and each time she is RUDE. My mom went there for me to pick up an order and she said the lady was just as rude. read more
