I delivered my third son with BundleBorn at home. My first was cesarean, second was a HBAC. I remember leaving the hospital after my cesarean and thinking, "I'm so thankful we were taken care of". My second birth, I felt the same. After some time, I learned a lot of the not so great things that happened to me with both first and second births were extremely avoidable. A lot of resentment followed those births for quite some time. All that to say, with my third birth, as time has passed, I have grown more and more infatuated with the whole experience. Teri and Teree are truly a match made in heaven. They balance each other out so well. Teri is extremely detailed and informative. My postpartum was night and day compared to previous births and I truly owe that to this team. I had a complete second degree tear and partial third and Teri went to work!! You are in great, if not the best, hands if you do tear under her care. I'm still so amazes at her craftmanship. Teree, gosh I just want to be best friends with her. We laughed, prayed, and connected. She brought an immense amount of peace and joy to my birth. She is a true servant, and equipped with so much knowledge. I would most definitely recommend BundleBorn and would use again if not moving. I love these women. Thank you for delivery our son! Dr Teri is very sweet. She can be a little biased with certain things. However, I'm a pretty neutral person and it doesn't bother me. Overall I do appreciate everything that Dr. Teri has done and getting our son delivered. I really don't remember much of the labor but the feedback from my family wasn't the best in regards to her being clean with her tool etc. I am a first time mom and I truly enjoyed the homebirth. I would never want to have a hospital birth. I highly recommend having a home birth. I am very happy to have my beautiful son and I couldn't have done that without Teri, my amazing doula and family by my side. read more

I feel like this is a unique review because I am actually leaving a review as a neonatal ICU/ L&D nurse with 9+ years experience who received more than one transfer from Teri for things that even the most skilled pediatrician could have missed leading to potential serious harm. I was absolutely blown away at her skill for not only for mom in the delivery side of things, but also with baby and the post delivery side of things. I have even heard a pediatric surgeon tell one mom that had Teri not caught a certain small but serious sign/ symptoms from a baby It could have been very bad and again that even the most skilled pediatrician could have missed what she caught. She is an incredible and SAFE alternative to a using a standard OB and hospital birth if you are having fears about what home birth could look like. This company is very sales pitchy when they don't have your best interest at heart. This birth center or whatever you call it a roofer going door to door. I bought and paid for her services in full. Wouldn't use again. Decent delivery of child. Just not as clean as I would like. And she tried to charge me for assistant after she didn't show up to 2 week appointment before. And didn't show up to birth. Not only that she went on vacation week before due date. Also if she very bias towards other people in her feild. And if a parent wants to get their baby circumcised be nice to not have her talk you out of it. We want it we are going to get it. stop trying to tell me what I want. also after you pay in full there will be a lot of other fees and a fee at the end. read more

Midwife Teri is not only incredibly skilled clinically, but she's also the most caring, loving provider I've ever encountered, and I've encountered more than my fair share. With something as personal, vulnerable, and sacred as pregnancy and childbirth, we deserve to surround ourselves with exactly the type of care that she provides. I had some complications toward the end of my pregnancy and she was able to monitor these symptoms closely and provide recommendations for diet and rest that avoided a full blown emergency and allowed me to carry to 39+3 and go into labor naturally when my baby and body were ready. In conventional OB care I'm sure I would have had had an induction weeks sooner and potentially a C-section. Instead thanks to Teri's careful, comprehensive, preventative approach, I had the home birth of my dreams as a first-time mom. I felt so loved and cared for during each visit, during my birth, and afterward. She also used her skills as an IBCLC to support our nursing difficulties in the first few weeks due to tongue and lip ties, and my daughter went on to be exclusively breastfed and still loves nursing 15 months later. Aside from my close family and friends there's no one I trust more. When I look at my daughter and think of the beautiful way she entered the world, I'll inevitably think of Teri, and I'll be grateful for her care for the rest of my life. read more

I was diagnosed with severe polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid). I was measuring at 47 weeks. If you ask any OB/GYN or midwife, you would know that this put me and Everett at high risk and we should have been in the hospital to avoid complications. At 36 weeks 6 days is when Dr Teri Mitchell (my midwife) decided to place a foley bulb to start inducing for the home birth, with the OK from Dr Erin Koster (High risk fetal medicine). While placing the bulb, Dr Teri Mitchell ruptured my water. The labor portion was amazing. I felt in control and I wasn't giving in to the contractions. I held my own and for that I will always be proud. 8 hours in, I was dilated to 7cm. We all thought Everett would be earth-side soon, so it made it more the pain bearable. We went for a couple more hours and then Dr Teri Mitchell gave me Tylenol and Benadryl to try and get me to rest, so I'd have the energy to push. It was about 7am when I was getting the urge to start back up.. Dr Teri Mitchell had me in position and she checked me. During this point, she did not tell anyone (my doula, Laken, her birthing assistant) that I had not progressed at all... I was still 7cm dilated. I had not gone thru the final stage of labor. Everett's head was not engaged with my cervix. This is when Dr Teri Mitchell started showing signs of frustration and became aggressive. She self dilated me with one hand, while reaching inside me with her other. She gripped her hand around the base of Everett's head and ripped him out (resulting in the stretch of his cervical spine, causing his phrenic nerve and brachial plexus injuries). It's also important to note that she broke his clavicle bone and left finger print bruises on the right side of his ribs when she finished pulling him out. At 9:18AM Everett was born. He was blue, not crying. I saw him bagged and the EMT's where there in no time. He immediately was taken to the NICU in McKinney, then later transferred to Children's Hospital. It's important to note that during this entire time, neither Everett or I were in distress. Our heart rates never dropped or raised. Dr Teri Mitchell and Dr Erin Koster went against the standards of care. They are the reason we spent 6 months in the NICU. They are the reason Everett had to have 3 surgeries. I am still not okay. I am still having nightmares. I am still trying to work thru this, even over 2 years later. read more

Teri has been an absolute pleasure to work with and helped me achieve my goal of having a home birth safely with a healthy baby boy. I wanted to edit my review now that we've also been seeing Jenny Caswell with BundleBorn Pediatrics. I am so thankful to have finally found someone who listens to my thoughts, answers my questions straight forward and honestly, and has genuine interest in my children! I've never had a ped that actually follows up with me to check on my children while they are getting over a sickness. And not to mention how welcoming the office is! My 2.5yo can play and I don't have anxiety about keeping him from running out doors or down doctor office hallways. It's almost like this place was made specifically for me. We love that it's our "home!" ~~~~~~ I don't even think I have the right words to describe how I feel about Teri and her team at Bundleborn.
