Amidst lies in…read moretheir reply to my Google review (proven via the text and call logs attached) they have accused me of being "angry" because they couldn't get to my PC fast enough. The only reason I was "angry" is because he spoke to me like I was an idiot, claimed he did nothing wrong, claimed 60 degrees celsius was normal, and generally avoided accountability. He has also failed to communicate properly, saying he'd get back to me and never texting back, then becoming passive aggressive when I checked in. Additionally, he searched for my new CPU on Amazon, rather than using Newegg or any other dedicated parts search, and ordered a CPU that would be completely incompatible with my system AND the motherboard he had ordered. If I hadn't caught the incompatibility, I might still be without my PC. Again, I had no issue with the fact that a mistake occurred. In fact I would have been gracious had accountability been taken. It was his communication over the phone on Sunday that led me to take matters into my own hands. No matter who discovered the issue, Compucare Technical Services was blatantly unprofessional and frankly frustrating to deal with on multiple occasions. Additionally, he tried to offer me $100 cash when I said I would be changing my review this morning. And the agreement referenced in his reply states that I must allow them opportunity to rectify the issue before issuing a *credit card chargeback,* which has not happened. CTS has yet again contacted me, despite me specifically asking him not to, and continued to berate me as a result of my review of my bad experience. Then he actually looked up options online for me the fit my needs and even sent me a link to one that he recommended. A substantial amount of money! Very recently our security cameras went off-line with no explanation. There were no storms or loss of electricity to our home. We contacted the store to request assistance. We explained our situation and was transferred to Tyler, their technology employee. We sent him photographs of the equipment in question. He did a few troubleshooting issues with us, giving us a temporary solution. Not wanting any of the cameras to go out again while we were on vacation, we agreed, per Tyler's suggestion, to have their mobile rep come out and replace a Whattz box and a battery back up device that could have malfunctioned to cause our outage. At no point, and here is our issue, did the in-house technology (Tyler) rep suggest I should simply press a reset button. Nick, the mobile technician arrived at our home and within 10 minutes diagnosed that a reset button needed to be pushed to restart the system. He actually put a sticker on the Whattz box for future reference on where to press the reset button. We paid $170 ( house call) for Nick to press a reset button. I can't hate him on that but the business is strictly on-line for the most part. PC Parts was/is a warehouse like parts facility for those of us who tinker, rebuild, or want a reasonable used PC. Now many of the staff know very little about computers. Ironic you say? This may have changed since 2003 but they went from a full service company to a global EBay enterprise. To be honest, they do have some of the best prices on used equipment. But you better know what you want and have a credit card because you cant just drop by and browse the "store". Most of the business transactions are done via the web or phone/fax. Many times you'll be better off bidding on their stuff on eBay and picking it up at the Paxton St location. Otherwise go to one of the computer shows that they are at and save $$$. But you have to know what you want.
