    Pistachio crossaint
    Lilian Z.

Came based on the recommendation from several friends and the area and am so glad I tried it out. It is a very casual bakery with limited seating indoors and outdoors so space can be a bit tight during peak times. I had the pistachio crossaint and it was amazing! The filling with rich without being too sweet and the pastry itself was perfectly flaky. I will definitely be back soon to try more flavors !

This was our first stop in Copenhagen from the airport and it set an incredible tone for the rest of our day! It was cold and rainy so this was the perfect place to relax before heading out to explore. It's warm and cozy inside and staff are all very friendly. There was a long line but it moved quickly and seemed like a great sign. We got a pistachio croissant, a hot coffee with oat milk, and an iced chai latte. The coffee was absolutely delicious! But the chai was a little less strong than we wanted. It was similar to a Starbucks chai (maybe even a little lighter) for reference. The star here is the pistachio croissant - perfectly flaky on shell, light airy pistachio cream that's so full of flavor, and topped with pistachio bits for added crunch! the pistachio flavor really came through which is exactly what we were looking for. I dipped mine in my hot coffee and loved this whole experience. I'd say Buka is a MUST VISIT bakery in Copenhagen.

Small quaint little bakery. Good amount of options, especially if you're interested in breakfast! Went with three options: --Nutella croissant: this had a LOT of Nutella. If you scrape some off it's actually a quite nice croissant. But definitely too much Nutella. -- Cinnamon orange croissant: a bit sticky and difficulty to eat. - Cheese/butter on a simple everything roll: the highlight for me. Also grabbed some iced and hot coffee. If you can grab a table inside, it's a cool place to eat breakfast. We were staying in a hotel nearby or probably wouldn't have happened upon this place and would've missed out on trying it. The vibes are worth the try.

Very good bakery in Copenhagen! The staff is beyond nice, and I love their pastries. They were fairly unique. My friend got a lemon poppyseed bun and it was really good. I didn't see this at any other place. Danish pastry was good and super flakey and crispy. I wish there was more custard but overall it was great. Cinnamon roll was good too. I loved how sticky it was. I just know it would taste incredible warm but that's not how they do it here. Cheese and ham croissant is a must. So unique and each bite had a crispy texture.

Chain bakery located in multiple locations around Copenhagen. Beautiful aesthetics. Usually place is packed because how great it is. Staff keeps the lines moving. The croissants were worth the hype! Lots of options to choose from.

The hype about this bakery is absolutely true - I visited multiple times during my trip to Denmark because their pastries are just THAT good. Highly recommend their pastry with the berries & cream, it's so light and refreshing with just a bit of tartness, such a treat.

Really wish that we got to try the pistachio croissant here, but they were sold out by 3 pm. We got the Nutella one instead and it was delightfully stuffed with Nutella (and quite messy). The Nutella was quite overpowering, but the croissant was still light and flaky. Chai latte was sweet and refreshing. Super cute seating outside and a few seats inside as well. Inside is quite dark though. Also got a chicken baguette sandwich to go. This was underwhelming - it was massive but mostly just bread. There was the thinnest layer of sliced chicken and a slathering of pesto sauce. So would skip this and stick to their pastries.

Never in my life have I seen a more beautiful croissant. In short, Buka is absolutely worth the hype and a must-try! I was visiting Copenhagen in September and had heard a lot of good things about Buka, so I planned out a mid day visit and saved my appetite all morning, knowing I'd probably want to indulge in more than just one pastry. When we arrived, everything was on display so beautifully in the case and frankly, I wanted to try one of everything. My spouse ended up ordering the chocolate and berries croissant and I ordered the pistachio croissant, and we decided to split a cardamom bun. The pistachio croissant was the most heavenly treat I have ever tasted in my life. The filling was so light and airy and complimented the flaky, buttery croissant so well. I tried some of the chocolate and berry croissant and the cardamom bun as well, and while they were both delicious, the pistachio croissant was the clear winner. I'll be longing for a croissant that one day compares to the one I had while here. Thank you to everyone at Buka for such a lovely experience.

This is definitely a local favorite and can anticipate small lines to order throughout the morning. They sell fresh baked break & pastries. The pastries themselves were well baked and tasted fresh. We bought a Nutella stuffed croissant and it was so rich and the consistency of the bread was to die for. They have indoor and outdoor tables so if you have time take a seat but it is snug. They also serve coffee. The only negative here is that none of the pastries are labeled so you might have to point/guess what they are serving.

Had a long layover in Copenhagen while we were going to Athens and wife found this coffee shop in the city near the airport. Just a few metro stops away. Very small place with limited seating and after we ordered a line to order. We were lucky and bandage to order right away. Then they was a huge line to order. Everything was great and worth checking it out. We got a chocolate croissant, an almond croissant, a pistachio pastry and a cappuccino. Everything was amazing.

Went for coffee and a pastry with a fellow solo traveler and enjoyed my matcha and pastry. We were able to grab a seat outside and it was a beautiful day. Overall good food and drinks.

This rhubarb croissant was quite delicious! As well as my first time ever having a rhubarb pastry. The coffee was also good, not bitter and it didn't give me heart palpitations like the coffee back in the states does!

Long lines but for good reason! Delicious croissant with a jaw dropping pistachio filling. This was the first thing I had while exploring Copenhagen. We saw a long line and figured that was a good sign but it was, in fact, a great sign! The smell of baked goods in the air only added to every delicious bite. The chai latte was great but I wish I had ordered a hot coffee to dip the croissant in.

I have no idea what the white stuff inside it is, but it's fantastic. The ham and cheese panini type sandwich was also very good. The chocolate cinnamon roll slice wasn't my favorite, other bakeries did it better, but everything else was great. Staff was very friendly. You do have to pay for a larger bag if you need it. We purchased about $35 worth of pantries that came in a box plus 4 small bags so it was a bit silly a larger bag wasn't just included.

We were not disappointed with our initial visit and intend to visit several times more during our stay. What's so great? Fresh and expertly made baked goods in an attractive cafe, served by pleasant people. I made point to pace myself as I enjoyed pastry and latte, taking in the relaxing atmosphere. We were not alone in our experience. Many people, who appeared to be on their way to work, stopped in for baked goods at a regular pace. I cannot recall what I ate, but I'm certain that you will not be disappointed with anything. *Side note: don't attempt to use the free check in item. They say it's 3 years old and acted offended by my asking.

The seating is first come, first serve and you order at the bar like most cafes in Denmark. The ambiance was so cozy. We ordered a cafe latte and a mocha latte. Both were delicious and creamy and they came with little ginger cookies on the side. We also ordered the 3 mini veggie burgers and they were so yummy! And actually more the size of normal burgers in the US so I was pleasantly surprised. The burgers came with the softest and tastiest potatoes I've ever had. Whether you're looking for a romantic evening coffee with your special someone, a cozy catch up with a friend, or some R&R on your own - this cafe is a must go to if you're in Copenhagen !

The mushroom frittata (I think it was) was absolutely delish- no rubbery egg taste, lovely mushies. I was worried about the carrot salad because it looked like it was tossed in something creamy, but it was quite good. This also included a really rich and thick tomato soup, and a small toast w/ goat cheese and a rhubarb jam, and some sweet treat- I'm guessing made with mascarpone. Hubbies sandwiches were good, though I've never seen mushrooms in a chicken salad before (luckily they were big enough for him to pick out so I got those too). Only reason to dong them a Star was due to the chaotic way and wait to order. There was one queue downstairs and two people intermittently taken orders. But, the people taking the orders also were making fancy coffee drinks and doing other stuff, so it was very staccato. When we were next in line, both people ringing people up went missing for quite a few minutes and then a newcomer went straight over to the 2nd register to ask a question, as if the people in the longer queue weren't waiting, and because the guys behind the counter were so all over the place they couldn't keep track of that. Then it turns out if you want to sit upstairs, you have to order up there, so off we went to wait in another queue. After you order, you take a number to your table and we thought they forgot about us, and asked a bus boy to check in for us and he returned with our food. Oy! Also: They do have English menus on request, but not typically on the table. Excellent food and ambience!
