Adam is an amazing trainer. He is knowledgable and compassionate with any injuries you have, but will push you right to the edge of your comfort zone. Then he'll ask you to step outside that comfort zone. No two workouts are ever the same, and in the summer he'll even take the workouts outside. He uses a lot of body weight training with TRX straps, but also kettlebells, medicine ball, bosu ball and yoga. First, let me start by saying Adam is not one of your run of the mill trainers. He tailors each workout to your specific goals and needs. He focuses on your body and it's functional movement. I've worked with a few trainers over the years, and have heard the words "functional movement" thrown around often. Adam is the only trainer that has actually understood what those words mean. He has a thorough understanding of the anatomy and knows how to adjust each workout to challenge you, but not injure or hurt you. We as a society so often think, that if we are hurting than it must have been a great workout. Unfortunately, that is the furthest thing from the truth...I know this firsthand. For years I was doing crossfit type workouts with personal trainers, and constantly getting hurt. Not hurt, like a pulled muscle or soreness...but hurt, like dislocated SI joints, lumbar dislocations, and a fractured clavicle. I continued on this workout frenzy, until my body couldn't handle it, and shut down. I was sidelined for months, going to physical therapy 3x a week, and extremely frustrated. I was at my wit's end, until I found Adam. My consultation with him, was like none I've experienced before. He listened to me, he observed my movements and limitations, he didn't push me through my pain, but showed me ways around it. Fortunately for me, Adam was experienced in dealing with a lower back issue. Unfortunately for him, it was because he had been going through a very similar injury. For the next 4 months, I worked with Adam 3 days a week. My doctor's couldn't believe my progress, and I started feeling better overall. My body started changing, my pain began to lessen, and I developed more confidence overall. He never did the same workout twice, he always made it interesting, and when the weather was nice we took the workouts outdoors.
