Low Quality, Low Integrity, High Pressure to Sign final Contract BEFORE final plans were approved,…read moreHigh Markup. Terrible experience with Brown Haven from the beginning. - I took the final plans to an outside architect before signing off. She showed me that there was a deck that was too small to be usable, too small even to stand on. She showed me the poor quality of trusses used which would make it cheaper to build but also make it impossible to ever use my attic space in the future, she showed me unsightly retaining walls and pillars that were the cheap way to manage water runoff and not industry standard. (Low Quality) - Eventhough my outside architect discovered several critical problems with the plans, Brown Haven wanted me to sign the final contract before these problems were fixed. They told me that this was their process and they "wouldn't change the process for me". Then threatened not to honor the very high land improvement estimate if I didn't sign off on the project before we had agreed on the final plans. (Low Integrity, High Pressure) - Home plans are not professionally designed (obviously). Brown Haven also does not have professionals to help you design the interior (bathroom and kitchen). They suggested that their sales person could design my bathroom! They rushed the design process several times because Brown Haven doesn't care about building the house you want, they just want to start building. (Low Quality) - Refused to participate in site evaluation for the build unless I had purchased the land- this makes no sense. Anyone looking to build is going to want to go through an extensive process of evaluating each potential lot and understanding the land improvement costs for each option. Brown Haven refused. (Low Integrity) - Then, Brown Haven underestimated the site improvement cost for the lot I did buy by over 100K! (Low Integrity) - Added an additional 30K fuel surcharge?? (Low Integrity) - Project manager hit on me for several months. Turns out that he's married. I suggested couples therapy, they seem to be doing better now. (Low Integrity) -Location manager lost interest in the project after stating that he had just built the same floor plan but with fewer additions and mine was going to be "better". I offered to share my home plan with him and encouraged him to build the exact same house for himself, if he wanted. That didn't help. My story: He didn't like a single woman building a "better" house than his! -Low Quality you can feel! I visited several of Brown Haven's build sites that were under construction to get a feel for their work. The homes felt like doll houses with thin walls and cheap materials. I'm not a contractor but the cheap, flimsy construction of these homes was obvious to me. Ultimately, Brown Haven does not care about you or your investment. They want to build the next cheap house at a huge mark up to you and they will pressure you to sign on the dotted line, even if they know there are huge problems with their construction plans.

Heart to Home (H2H) did an outstanding job on a studs-out guest bathroom remodel (Fall 2023) We…read morehighly recommend them! We were impressed with H2H at every stage of the project and thrilled with the results. They nailed every measure of success. They listened to what we wanted and clearly reflected our priorities and constraints in their proposal, detailed design and estimate. They exemplified professionalism, attention to detail, quality of work, clear communication and delivered on schedule and on budget. The few changes were mostly due to our requests. Any variations from the original plan/estimate were transparently discussed, approved by us, and tracked, so there were no surprises in the final invoice. We did our homework. We got 2 other proposals from well-established companies and 2 independent general contractors, in addition to H2H, before selecting H2H as the best value for the money. Their costs were more in line with our expectations and the owner, Tim Magee, was excellent to work with. He inspired great confidence that they could and would do this right and the project leads and crews delivered as promised!! Based on the stellar results, Heart to Home just started remodeling our primary bathroom!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! EVER... FOR ANYTHING!…read more I hired "Quality Concrete" to install a new concrete driveway. 15ft x 83ft. I don't know where to start. Start to finish was a disaster. I (stupidly) gave them a 50% deposit to start. They started 7 days after the scheduled start date, which would not have been a problem but they would text every day and say they would be here tomorrow. They were very sloppy, left tools, trash, food wrappers, boots, and shirts strewn about the property. I even had to loan them tools.(which were left outside in the rain). I could have dealt with all of that if the final product was decent. This is the worst concrete job I have ever seen! I am embarrassed for anyone to see it. They did not do what they were contracted to do. They were supposed to even out where the garage met the driveway by cutting a straight line with their concrete saw...when it was time to pour they said their saw was broken. They had issues with the concrete company and held us hostage when the last concrete truck came... they said the driver would not pour the concrete unless we paid him 1800.00. We felt we had to pay otherwise we would have a 10'x15' area without concrete. Once the final truck off loaded the concrete, Malaki (the owner) said they just had a little clean up to do and they would return the following day to clean up and cut the expansion lines. He wanted another payment of 6500.00 to pay his grandfather and uncle and his partner Gray. I gave him the 6500.00 since he said the wet concrete would level out and they would return the next day. I never saw him again. I texted and called him on numerous occasions... once again nothing but lies. They never returned. I had to pay someone to finish what they could not, which was removing the form boards, piles of concrete in the yard and around the driveway and the metal posts that held the boards in place and lots of trash. I gave them ample opportunities to make this right. They chose not to. The driveway is cracking, has large ridges, bumps all over, in lots of areas you can see stones, divots, and tool marks. Water puddles in many places. Worse job I have ever seen. At this point the entire driveway has to be torn up and redone based on an engineers report. If they made the effort to try and fix their mistakes by using a grinder to smooth out the many many perfections and cut the necessary expansion joints I would have thought at least they tried to remedy the situation. They installed a drain and never hooked it up which means the water is draining under the driveway. Please reach out or direct message me if you would like to see the driveway or photos. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
