Heart to Home (H2H) did an outstanding job on a studs-out guest bathroom remodel (Fall 2023) We…read morehighly recommend them! We were impressed with H2H at every stage of the project and thrilled with the results. They nailed every measure of success. They listened to what we wanted and clearly reflected our priorities and constraints in their proposal, detailed design and estimate. They exemplified professionalism, attention to detail, quality of work, clear communication and delivered on schedule and on budget. The few changes were mostly due to our requests. Any variations from the original plan/estimate were transparently discussed, approved by us, and tracked, so there were no surprises in the final invoice. We did our homework. We got 2 other proposals from well-established companies and 2 independent general contractors, in addition to H2H, before selecting H2H as the best value for the money. Their costs were more in line with our expectations and the owner, Tim Magee, was excellent to work with. He inspired great confidence that they could and would do this right and the project leads and crews delivered as promised!! Based on the stellar results, Heart to Home just started remodeling our primary bathroom!

I first met Jonathan at an event in Asheville hosted by the amazing Olivette organization . . . But…read moresince that time I've gotten to know both he and his incredible partner Abby on both a personal and professional basis and cannot say enough good things about them. They're one of those rare couples who actually walk the talk . . . They practice what they preach in terms of good stewardship to our planet and healthy lifestyles that lead to healthy people who care about the "big picture" things like air quality and fresh fruits and vegetables and nutrition advice for everyone (regardless of their economic position.) If I were preparing to buy a lot and build a house in Asheville North Carolina this would be my absolute first phone call. Do yourself a favor and don't make any final decisions until talking to Jonathan at JL Builders.

However Ray was willing to do more than blow insulation in to make sure our home would be warm and efficient! He took out all the old insulation, sealed up all holes and cracks that air would blow through. He installed covers over the light and installed baffles to keep the house regulated and not sweating! The others were only willing to blow on top of the pre existing old insulation! Ray was in and out in a few days! I trusted him enough to leave him a key to the house if he needed anything. I was glad to give the business to a veteran as well as Ray! I will be using Ray and One Shot Contracting for projects in the future! I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

We only went…read morewith this company b/c they assured us there would be no subcontractors and would be held responsible for all work done. This was a lie. They hired three subcontractors to do minor electrical and plumbing work which they did not include in their quote. Second Marc Stewart called to discuss when they would be coming and when I told him he could not come on a certain day, he tried to call back and talk to my husband to get a different answer. Finally, after he was told three times NO, he was rude enough to send an electrician on that day anyway. The final quote, which was never given to us before the project started, ended up being much more than the quote they gave us originally. Several hundred dollars over what they had assured us would be the highest price, and they expected the money as they left without any indication of when that would be. About a month after we bought our home, they hit the ground running with a major kitchen remodel, brand new plumbing throughout the house, electric, light fixtures, flooring, painting, scraping the ceilings, HVAC and other cosmetic touch ups. A major bonus to hiring this company is the trust you feel with every single person on their crews and their clear communication. Living through a renovation isn't always easy, but Thomas and his team are always willing to talk and hear what you have to say. This meant a lot to us throughout the process. Without hesitation, we would recommend this company to anyone looking to have any house project(s) completed. Thank you Lobo Builders!

I called up Builders FirstSource desperate, thinking that they only supply to contractors, but to my joy, they sell to DIYers too. They had what I needed (6" flashing strip) and they sold the concrete anchors I needed individually which saved me from having to buy a box of 100 when I only needed a few. A major plus for me with anything like construction, car repair, etc is when I'm not treated like a delicate little lady who doesn't know what we're talking about. I've experienced more than my fair share of that treatment. Men who ask if my husband is around so he can make the decision. Builders FirstSource wasn't like that at all. They treated me like I knew what I was doing and helpfully answered any questions I had. I'll definitely be coming back when I need more materials for future projects.
