Even as a child I didn't really understand the appeal of stuffing your own teddy bear (or, these days, bunny, football player, or wookiee, among other things). As a slightly twisted human I found the bin of limp, unstuffed bunny skins kind of hilarious with their embroidered eyes staring up at me, but that's not something the average person is going to head to the store for.
I will admit the 2/$35 deal isn't unreasonable if you have kids that are old enough not to be terrified by insides-less animals yet young enough to still want a stuffed little buddy, but beware that your adventure may spiral out of control quickly. Most models we saw for the animals themselves were $25-35. Everywhere you turn there are tiny shirts, skirts, and accessories for your newly-built bears - a simple t-shirt goes for $7. A $35 critter and a top, bottom, and accessory will easily put you over $50.
