I live in a nearby building and the movers decided to block the street and the side walk. I witnessed and old lady force to walk around the truck because these guys were too lazy to park in the loading zone 10 meters away. I confro Ted the security and the drivers to move and as I di I saw a child and their dad have to navigate around the truck I myself and in a wheelchair and lost both legs in Afghanistan and the trucker was rude to me and the security... it's all on camera on the condos videos. I contacted to police and parking authority and emailed the company and fully expect nothing to be done. The only path I have left is to post a review over your people and the job they do. I moved cross-country from California to Texas with Buhler's Moving and Storage, and the entire process went very well. The process was thoroughly explained by their customer service representatives, who also gave a comprehensive quotation that included packing, loading, transportation, and short-term storage. The movers packed up the entire house, including breakables like electronics and glassware, quickly after arriving on schedule and armed with all the packing supplies they needed. To make things even easier, they also provided assistance for disassembling and reassembling major furniture. The transfer was of exceptional quality. I got what I paid for? They packed and moved (almost) all our things from Calgary to Vancouver and they did it for the quoted price. I'm grateful there were no surprises like others seem to have experienced - pricing was as quoted. That's the reason I bumped it up to two stars. The movers were mostly friendly and they worked really hard. The truck was late for pick up but they still got everything done within the quoted timeline. They were a little rushed on the drop off and less careful but nothing more than some scuffs on a few items. Two pieces of art were left on the truck and wound up being unloaded with their next move in Surrey. The day I reported the missing items (a day or two after the move) they immediately located them and spoke to the lady who accidentally wound up with them. They provided an estimated timeline of 3 weeks to have a truck out to correct the issue but after those three weeks passed, Sue stopped following up with me unless I emailed her first. Every email I sent (roughly every 2 or 3 weeks) to inquire about a new timeline, was met with frustration and followed by the insistence that they cannot get in touch with the other lady so it's not their fault. The contract doesn't provide much in terms of insurance; only $0.60/lb of the items that didn't make it and since that's only two framed art pieces it'll be maybe a few dollars despite the work having cost hundreds of dollars in material and hours of my time making them. Once it hit the 5 month mark, I gave up waiting for the items to be returned and just requested they complete the "reimbursement". It's been nearly two more months and Sue has stopped responding to my periodic emails so I'm sure I won't be seeing the reimbursement either. read more

We just completed a move with Bueller Moving out of Calgary. It involved packing various pieces of furniture in Calgary and delivering them to our home 4 hours north. Craig showed up on time, he had 3 other people to load, which was plenty for what were moving. They put down runners to protect the floor, everyone was friendly and very competent. We have nice furniture and a grandfather clock which they wrapped and taped in blankets. Craig arrived up north as agreed and he and his partner delivered and unpacked everything with competence and care. The furniture was reassembled and placed where we requested with no damage to anything. Our experience with Bueller Moving was fantastic. Prices were reasonable, they have excellent people and everything went smoothly during a hectic and stressful time for us. We would highly recommend them for both local and long-distance moves. Absolutely horrible moving company. My friend hired them to move all of her belongings and they agreed on (and paid) a flat rate for everything in their apartment. The day of the move came and they made the excuse that they couldn't fit everything in their moving truck because half the truck contained someone else's positions from a previous job) They came back later with a different truck and then charged my friend a bunch of extra storage and moving fees. They kept my friend's belongings for weeks, accruing storage fees everyday, and refused to bring them their stuff unless they paid another $1700 because it was a "new job". I have moved a lot - about 20 times in 30 years. I have had short moves (within the same building or city) and long moves east coast to west coast). During those moves, I've had a lot of opportunity to watch movers work and I'm a pretty good judge of quality. I hired Buhler's to move across Calgary. The movers showed up 15 minutes early, put down carpet to protect my floor, wrapped my furniture in furniture pads and didn't dawdle getting to my new place. They worked very well as a team. They were also $10 cheaper an hour than the going rate. That ads up! AND - this is the best part - one of them reassembled my bed for me. That's a first for me and was greatly appreciated. read more

Stay away unless you like to watch some of your items and your property get damaged, pay for it, then get ignored when trying to get compensated. Showed up late (1hr. 20min) and no call, did not move everything as originally agreed to, one employee was first and last day caused a lot of damage. Office staff ignores and/or hangs up on you including owner. Some of the guys were good. Overall experience was one of the worst I've ever had. I booked through MiniMove/OOmovers who contract their movers. I ended up with Buhler's Moving & Storage for my move from Edmonton to Vancouver. They had a nice truck but based on online reviews I would never think to use them. The crew who came to pick up my stuff was pretty good. Unfortunately they were a couple hours late but other than that they were friendly, efficient and were cracking jokes. The crew who did the drop off was different. They were also late by a couple hours but were a little less friendly and didn't seem as happy to be there. However, they got the job done and were efficient as well. Other than not being on time for pick up and drop off, my other complaint would be that a lot of our boxes did not seem to be handled with care. They would put the light boxes on the bottom and the heavier ones on top of that. There was even one box with a huge dent in the corner, which I think was obviously dropped. Luckily no damage. Moving long distance is a headache with so many companies and horror stories out there. You probably get what you pay for. If I had a lot more furniture and more expensive items, I might not have booked through MiniMove/OOmovers and went with one of the larger companies out there so I wouldn't have to count on luck for who my mover would be. But for the price, expectations weren't the highest and things turned out satisfactory. read more

Ron is sleazy and unethical. I had him come in and give me a quote and when he quoted me, he was the highest quote from all of the quotes that I had. He came at the same time that another quote was coming and I asked him not to talk to the other person to ensure that there was no collusion going on. The first thing he does when he gets outside is go talk to the other person. I wasn't happy with that. Anyways, he calls me a week later or so and I tell him that I won't be using him. Thought that would be the last I hear from Ron, but then I get a call last week and someone (he made it sound like he wasn't Ron and someone else in the industry) is asking about my quotes and said that he heard that a couple places quoted me at 12,000 lbs and 7,000 lbs (which is what they both came in at). I was confused as why he knew those numbers, but at any rate I explained that those numbers might change as we were getting rid of a lot of things. I told him that I was out of town, but I already selected my mover and that the mover I selected was coming on a Thursday to give me a new estimate based on everything I was getting rid of. Next thing you know, I'm getting a call from my wife saying that someone came to my house (being very persistent and aggressive) telling her that I told them to come for a new estimate. I spoke to him on the phone and told him that we had selected our mover already and that this wasn't acceptable. When we got off the phone, my wife told me he was upset and saying "I don't know what his problem is, why doesn't he want to save some money?!" Anyways, dirty tactics, and super shady. I would give a zero if I could! DO NOT USE Buhler moving and storage! FACTS: -Ron (owner) contacted me with a FLAT RATE, NO WEIGHT deal for a 2 bedroom home. -Ron requested & took payment while his movers were still unloading (red flag!) then informed us that ¼ of our belongings were not even with him. There are 2 of us but he only delivered 1 bed, 1 set of dressers & approx 1/2 of our belongings. He then told us the rest would be delivered in 14 days & when I requested a new contract stating same, he refused. He did not deliver the rest of our belongings in the new 14 day time frame he quoted. After many unanswered texts from us & 29 anxious days, he gave us 17 hours notice that he would be arriving with the rest of our things. - When he arrived the 2nd time he had a new contract with a weight on it despite our original NO WEIGHT agreement & wanted us to pay more for his trouble. I told him I would be placing complaints with the Canadian Movers Association, the BBB, & Consumer Alberta/ B.C & then I told him to get out of my house! He then text stating if I placed complaints he would take me to court. - Upon examining our belongings after delivery, our 60" flat screen was taken out of the moving box we had specifically purchased & was sitting face up on boxes before being unloaded, a shelving until was scratched beyond repair & a few things in boxes were broken (including dishes) despite our very careful packing, & 1 dresser leg was broken beyond repair. - In reading the other reviews on Google, all of this is consistent with how RON BUHLER does business. DO NOT hire this company. I made that mistake in June 2014 because it seemed like a nice family-run local business. Mr. Buhler was initially pleasant on the phone and assured me that all of my belongings would be well taken care of on the long journey to Halifax. I provided my deposit and signed a contract with Buhler's Moving and Storage, assured that insurance was included. Unfortunately, that's where the helpfulness and any signs that this is an honest business came to an abrupt end. The first warning sign became clear when his staff members showed up to pick up my belongings in Calgary a day later than what was scheduled (June 3 as opposed to June 2, 2014). Mistakes happen -- but I did have to take time off work in order to wait all day, only for them not to show up, and then take another full day off when they did arrive. I boarded my plane to Halifax with one suitcase, still confident that everything else in the world that I owned would arrive safely within a couple of weeks' time, on either June 11 or June 12, 2014, as promised. But the movers did not show up on the dates proposed. They did not show up the next day, either. Or the day after that. I didn't hear from Mr. Buhler during those first few days, even after attempting several phone calls and emails, desperate for any update. It wasn't until June 14 that I received an email from Mr. Buhler, in which he told me to touch base with the Nova Scotia moving company that was supposed to take over the haul en route cross-country. Mr. Buhler himself referred to the situation as "a gong show." He was was referring to the fact that everything in the world that I owned had been placed by his movers on a semi-tractor trailer that also happened to be hauling drugs ranging from marijuana to hashish to heroin. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and RCMP searched the truck, seized the drugs and arrested two of the movers June 4 at Edmonton International Airport. In total, police discovered about $9 million in street drugs, believed to be connected to a large organized crime group. Instead of an apology from Mr. Buhler, or any assistance, I received angry denials of our contract. I started making calls in an attempt to track down my belongings. I called the CBSA, ALERT, RCMP and several moving companies until I was finally able to locate my belongings at a Toronto-area warehouse. I had to hire two more companies in order to get my stuff to Halifax. My belongings finally arrived at my new apartment on July 10, 2014. However, much of what I owned was visibly damaged. Some of my furniture was riddled with holes, electronics were torn apart and anything breakable had broken. Unpacking was heart break after heart break, as I picked up the broken pieces and tried to start over. I also won appeals in both Nova Scotia and Alberta. Most recently, on Oct. 25, 2018, my lawyers renewed the judgment against Mr. Buhler and his company because I have yet to receive anything -- not a single cent in compensation, let alone an apology. As of Oct. 15 of this year, a Mr. Buhler and his company legally owe me $6,430.12, with interest accruing. Mr. Buhler continues not to respond to legal correspondence, or at all, so I will continue to keep this debt against him registered. I hope that he will come forward to negotiate. In the meantime, I urge anyone who plans to hire a moving company to check BBB, read reviews, and avoid Buhler's Moving - it may end up costing you much more to move than you think. We hired Buhlers moving to move us from the west coast to Airdrie. We discussed price for the move and agreed on the price to move or belonging, store them for 2 months, then move them to our new property.. Sue at Buhlers said to call her to give them 2 weeks notice to move our belongings from storage to the new home which I did.... All of the move and storage was paid for in advance prior the move from the west coast ($5400 + the storage )The movers moved all of or belongings into the new home..... once completed they tried to charge us an additional $1680, which was not in the contact. I believe they tried to charge my credit card that was on file, but I had changed credit cards so it didn't go through. We refused to pay this outrageous addition fee. When I spoke to Sue at Buhlers she was rude and said I was naive not to think there would be addition hidden fees that weren't in the agreed contract. When I told her there were many items damaged ( broken glass on pictures, chipped wood on the furniture, and parts of our king bed missing where it is unusable ) she told me that was not their problem and that I had to go through my own house insurance. In the end we refused to pay the $1680 that is clearly not in the contract ( Sue even told my husband it wasn't part of our contract) and now she is threatening to take us to court ....... On a side note friends moved at the same time and the morning of the move in Calgary they charged them $300 cash only to remove snow, then weeks after the move the discovered a $500 charge on their credit card by Buhlers that they did not approve .... This is a very shady business that try's to charge you outrageous frees that were never in the agreed contract, and don't care when they damage and lose your property!!!!! Dropped my new bed frame and new 70" OLED TV off the truck in front of me (luckily it was wrapped in multiple cushions) and then one of the guys came apologizing saying they smoked a whole pile of weed prior to showing up. I only gave Buhler Moving 1 Star because Google doesn't allow to give zero. I used Buhler moving for a long distance move from Manitoba to Alberta. I had set all the info with the estimated weight (12,000lbs) and Ron Buhler gave me a pretty good price, was able to meet my move date and sounded like a nice guy on the phone. The nightmare started a on moving day, which was a day late because the moving crew was doing another job. This messed up my schedule because I planned on having everything moved out and had a maid service coming to do the cleaning the next day. Also I was flying out. So this all had to be rescheduled. The 3 guys who finally did show up at the house to load the moving truck, reeked of pot when they showed up and even took a couple breaks to have another toke. They caused some drywall damage to my house when moving some of the items out. The moves missed some item and decided to keep some for themselves (neon beer sign, dolly hand cart, booster cables, etc.) Thing that we noticed when unpacking. Half way through the day, they figured out that they had took small of a truck and were not able to do it in one load. So what remained behind was supposed to show up and couple days later. (this ended taking over 3 month... YES over 3 months) wait, this gets better. When the first truck should up, Buhler Moving wanted and addition $1800.00 over and what he had given me in a written quote. They just said, didn't matter what was quoted, they ran into some additional charges. They would not unload my stuff until I paid them. I tried call Ron Buhler, but hid didn't answer his cell of work phones. I asked the moving guys if they usually have a mask and gun when they move people, to which they only laughed. So I paid them.... I talked to Ron the next day who couldn't tell me what the charges were and made up some mumbo Jumbo. He then told me that the rest of my stuff would be about a week now. Ok, I wait a week and nothing. I call Ron a few times again before getting ahold of him. At this point he told me a couple more weeks . This BS and stories went on for months with him. So after 3 months my stuff was finally in Calgary. Only one problem. It was delivered to their compound instead if my address and could I come get it. I Said, "No way, you guys bring it to my house like was written in my contract. So when the rest of my stuff did make it to my door (except for what was stolen). They wanted to charge me another $2000.00 or they movers were not taking it off the truck. So I paid it and am done. Moral of the story.... Don't use Buhler Moving. I hired Buhler's for a local move within Calgary that included storing my belongings for a few weeks between pick-up and delivery dates. This required loading and unloading into storage as well as my initial pickup and then the final delivery. The crew was mainly the same between pickup and delivery and did a good job. They were careful to wrap my furniture and managed to negotiate a pretty cramped stairwell without incident. They were pleasant and worked hard although a few boxes clearly marked "This side up" were delivered upside-down, a few boxes weren't delivered to the rooms indicated on them, and sometimes a stack of boxes included larger, heavier ones stacked on top of smaller, lighter ones but nothing was broken when I unpacked. I loved that they brought two trucks so they could load/unload the house and the garage from the alley separately. Brilliant! It was unfortunate that they were a day late in delivering my belongings, but it all worked out okay in the end. As is common in moves where things are loaded and unloaded multiple times a couple of items were a bit worse for wear once they arrived, however what's important in mentioning that is that Buhler's made it right, and I very much appreciated that they followed through.Although I think there was some room for improvement, I found them easy to deal with, competitively priced, with good customer service. I confirmed with Ron Buhler that we will hire his company to move our belongings from Ontario to Alberta. He agreed by phone that he will have his company protect and load our items on Thursday, July 28th, 2011 and that his company will move our items into our Calgary condo first and then to a storage rental at no additional cost. In addition, Ron said that he will store our items until our condo closing date of August 27th. His quote was a reduced rate because they were making a trip out east anyway. The mover informed us that they would be completed by 2pm but b/c they didn't have enough room in the truck we secured a uhaul truck and at 4:30pm they finished loading the last box just as the new home owners were moving it. On August 23rd, I called the company as I had not heard from them regarding our moving date on Saturday, August 28th and the receptionist said that she was trying to contact me as they wouldn't be able to deliver our belongings on Saturday because they are busy. We agreed to the delivery the next day. When I confirmed that the movers will also be going to a storage unit after, Kristine was unsure of this and I could hear her talking to Ron in the background about this. Ron got on the phone and said that he couldn't recall the conversation but would agree to having the storage unit as a second stop. I called him back the following day and informed him that if he was able to match the price then we would save his company the trip and get storage through him. He agreed to this for one year. On Sunday, August 28th, 2011 the movers arrived and informed us that there was 1000lbs in storage in Ontario. I signed off on the document and paid $105 for one month of storage with a cheque. I received a call from the receptionist stating that she tried to process the credit card payment that I had used for our moving bill in order to pay for our storage rental. I informed her that the mover has the $105 cheque. I asked her why didn't I receive a call previously informing us that 1000lbs of our belongings are still in Ontario. She replied by informing me that Ron was suppose to call us to inform us and I'm the 3rd customer today that Ron was suppose to call but didn't. Last week I called Ron as we wanted to get hockey sticks from the storage unit and he said that he wouldn't be available to be at the site on Sat, Sept 17th as he has a birthday party to attend but that there will be 2 of his movers there on Sunday, Sept 18th. I asked him when our items from Ontario will arrive and he said that they were already in the trailer with the rest of our items. I asked him when they will be delivered and he replied that the last time they moved our items into our condo that they had returned the majority of our items to storage. He suggested that we go there to go through the items so that they would only deliver what we need. We agreed to this. I mentioned that there will be some boxes to return to storage and he asked if we can just bring drive our items in our car to the storage rental. I informed him that we need to exchange the t.v. stand anyway b/c the one we want to use is still in Ontario. Ron agreed to transport the boxes back to storage after the remaining items are delivered. We realized that the items that we were waiting from Ontario, were not there. The mover made a call to Ron and Ron said that our items are in there. We verified that there was nothing in the truck from the 2nd load and the same man called Ron again. Ron asked him to call the person who went to Ontario to pick up our items. The man confirmed that he didn't pick up our items and that our belongings are still in Ontario. I called Ron today, Wednesday, Sept 21st, 2011 at 8:20am to ask what was going on and he said that he told the mover to pick up our items and that the mover didn't. There is a lack of communication with Ron and his staff which has led to many issues during this move. When I asked for some compensation he asked 'for what'. He asked me what we paid per pound and I asked him to look it up in the system as my paperwork was at home. I explained that we received a good deal and I asked him if budget supercedes customer service and he replied 'no'. I asked him if he can give us free storage and he sarcastically replied "how many years?" I asked if he can give us free storage until August 2012 and he shrugged it off stating that this time of the morning is busy because he's trying to get his men out by 8:30am and for me to call back at 9:30am when he is less busy and so he can digest this information. I told him to call me as he hasn't called me, except once before. He left a message at 9:30am stating that "he reviewed the documents and noticed that I got a 'heck of a deal' by paying $0.50/lb, one month of free storage and a free redelivery and that he was done with the word 'free'. 0 STARS- WHEN I TOLD RON (THE OWNER) THAT I AM ADVERTISING THIS THEY SAID THEY WILL GET MORE PEOPLE TO WRITE FAKE GOOD REVIEWS-BEWARE OF THEIR GOOD REVIEW - AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THERE WAS DAMAGE ON A CLIENTS PROPERTY EVEN WITH A GOOD REVIEW LOL - They are horrible AT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TAKING CARE OF CLIENTS PROPERTY DURING THE MOVE...If you don't purchase additional insurance with them, they will damage your property but if you purchase additional insurance they will take care. Ron basically said it himself. They will not replace anything that they damage even if its their fault and they drop it. They do not educate their clients but call themselves expert movers who take the time to review with their clients which was FALSE. They never reviewed the big items of the TV AND PRINTER when we sent all the info by email to get the quote. As a expert company should you not send a moving process when its your first time moving? . When the movers showed up they specifically said they wont take the printer because its not in a box (keep in mind this is a huge business printer that doesn't fit in a normal box) we packed that in the car and drove it down, asked them if the tv was okay , they wrapped it and said doesn't need to be in a box (THE EXPERTS TOLD US THIS -CHECK THEIR WEBSITE IT STATES THEY ARE EXPERTS), of course damaged the tv , not it was dropped as there was a crack on the corner and screen and then Ron said first it was air pressure that did that , then when I said it was his employee that did that he said that we don't care about our belongings because we didn't pack it properly. We asked his employees if the tv was okay and they personally wrapped the tv and said it didn't need to be in a box It will be fine (WE WOULD'VE MOVED THIS IN OUR CAR). Horrible moving company -I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT- THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR BELONGINGS BUT BLAME YOU IN THE END THAT ITS OUR FAULT WE DIDNT PURCHASE INSURANCE (WE HAVE INSURANCE SUBJECT TO A DEDUCTIBLE) AND THEY WONT COVER THE DEDUCTIBLE THAT IS THEIR FAULT. Also please note that If you call this company RON said he cannot give you a cost of how much and if they would actually cover your belongings because he is not licensed to sell insurance.
