These folks used to be good, when the owner actually cared, but I can no longer recommend them. I would suggest avoiding them at all costs. I asked them to my home to remove a wasp nest from inside a 2nd floor ceiling. It was clear by the shape and color of the large wet/oozing spot on the ceiling that there was a hive there. The gentleman who arrived, 2 hours late, while friendly enough, seemed untrained and not competent to do the work needed. He said he'd never seen anything like that (he's an exterminator and has never seen a nest behind drywall?) and at one point he said the nest was probably not even there, saying maybe it was water damage. This despite the oozing mess being clearly the shape of a hive, and bees having entered the room from a hole in it. This is when I should have asked him to leave. He lacked the tools (ladders, flashlight) and knowledge needed to investigate the problem and continually asked me what I thought we should do about it, to which my only reply was "I called you as the expert, you tell me!" After telling me he's "not allowed" to cut holes in walls or ceilings to remove nests (huh???), he told me that I can cut my own hole in the ceiling if I want. Baffled, I agreed and got out my tools. I had to do the work of opening the ceiling and cleaning up the mess as he stood by in his protective gear using a borrowed vacuum to capture the dust. He expressed actual surprise that there was a hive present in the ceiling. Baffling... I also asked the gentleman to enter my attic crawlspace to look around for other nests. After telling me "I can't breath asbestos, that sh*t will kill me" I told him it's not asbestos, it's fiberglass insulation, and asked if he had a respirator. He said he did, and at my instruction, he put it on and entered the attic. He came down several minutes later and said he saw no nests. Unbeknownst to me, while he was up there, he nearly fell through the ceiling in two rooms causing severe damage to two ceilings. I'm sure he knows this too, though he said nothing. I didn't notice this until the next day as the house was vacant at the time and I left the house when he did. I reached out to the company the very next morning with photos and a polite email asking to discuss. Rather than calling me for a civil discussion, the owner had his secretary call and immediately jump down my throat accusing me of lying, saying there's no way I can prove it was him and asking how it's possible I didn't notice cracked ceilings until the next day. My simple answer was that the house is vacant and I left when he did. I suppose it was my mistake that I didn't walk through all the empty bedrooms before leaving. I do have other contractors who were present during and after his visit who were witness to all of this. I was promised the owner would call me back. He didn't. Several emails and calls from me later, the owner still can't muster up the common decency to call me and discuss the issue like a grown man. BugMan purports to be a "family oriented business" where "the customer is always right", but this man has proven that he's nothing more than an unscrupulous business owner who doesn't give a damn about anything but his own bottom line. I ended up having to pay a contractor $800 to repair and re-paint the damage he did (not including the repair of the hole where the nest was, where I planned to have to pay for that) and while I'm not going to waste my time with small claims court, I will go out of my way to tell this story to everybody I know, online and in person to make sure people know that BugMan is basically hiring unskilled labor off the street and sending them into situations they are clearly not qualified to handle, and on top of that they are unwilling to accept responsibility for the mistakes they make. I suppose for preventative, exterior spraying to keep bugs away their service might be legit but for anything beyond that you are best choosing an actual professional. read more

We hired this company for a mouse problem. We saw droppings in the garage and heard them in the attic. The first guy was super nice and looked the house over, including the roof and attic space as well as the foundation. He put poison around. THEY DO NOT TRAP THE MICE WHICH IS A HUGE PROBLEM. This same guy was out 4 more times. In the spring, summer we didn't hear them. Here comes fall, another $300 and a different guy came out. He was so large, he couldn't fit in the attic opening and he replaced the poision in one bait box, threw more poison in the attic space, told me to call the town and report an infestation. What ???!!! when I called 2 weeks later b/c I could still hear them, they planned to send the second large man again and I said "no, no no". The woman on the phone was super defensive, said her guys don't go into attic spaces. Really? If they are up there?? OMG Next two visits were from a different guy. Again, he was nice but not nearly as thorough as the very first guy. He only put more poison out. Total paid out $1k over 1.5 years of trying to rid ourselves of mice! We finally hired a contractor. He fixed holes he found in the garage floor where we had seen droppings and went around outside of house - dug the soil back to check the foundation, checked the roof. we hoped that was it and that was how they got in. Nope 2 weeks later still there. BAck out with the Bug Man with more poison put out. Ugh. Another call to contractor who went up in attic space, did not see any holes but mice were still being heard. What he did find was about 100 blocks, baggies of poison and none of them had chew marks. He set traps and we are waiting to see what we catch. Bottom line, if you have a rodent problem, hire someone that will trap and not just poison! read more

Stay away from this company! We hired The Bug Man to come and spray for bees at our home in May of 2012 and they ended up damaging the outside of the house. When we called to try to come to some sort of resolution the owner, Don, was completely unprofessional (to the point of swearing at my husband and insulting our home). What was interesting about that is that he'd never seen our home or anything of the damage; It was just his default reaction. To add to the problem the bee spray itself didn't work. So we've now had to pay for a failed service as well as for a contractor to come and repair our home. For such a simple task it has been a nightmare experience and we're now realizing that they aren't associated with the Better Business Bureau. I had an "emergency pest issue"... I saw a snake in my basement! I called BUGMAN, and they connected me to their emergency, after hours line immediately! A technician called me back within 10 minutes, and was at my house within 20 minutes, a 30 minute window on a Sunday night... I couldn't believe it! Matthew, our technician, was so kind and helpful. Not only was the one snake, three snakes coiled together, but he looked in every nook in cranny in my basement. He took care of everything, and answered all of my questions. He even gave me traps and recommended ways to take care pests in the future. The response time was AMAZING and Matthew was so helpful, I couldn't recommend them enough! read more

I received this company's flyer in my mailbox and called right away as we were having an issue with bats in the attic. The woman who answered my call was very friendly. I conveyed how troubled I was about the situation and she scheduled Andrew to come to our home within hours. He was extremely knowledgeable and educated us on bat behavior and patterns. He did not try to oversell us and gave us his suggestion on how to proceed. His honesty was greatly appreciated and something scared-out-of-their minds customers with a bat problem (me) didn't expect. I would confidently recommend this company to anyone looking for help with bugs, critters, etc. They are wonderful, honest people! read more

We dealt with chris who came out on an emergency bee situation. They were in our walls and the wall eventually crumbled. We were terrified, but isolated the room with a towel under the door. Bug man came out quickly and removed the nest safely. The nest was massive so big that bug man had to carry it out on a tarpe....they were hornets that had carved their way through out walls for over a year. We thought they were mice but it turns out they weren't. 4 stars for quick service and helping us clean up the next. Fair prices. read more

We have used Bugman for many years. The last 5 years "Ernest" has been the representative. I even ask for Ernest. He is very thorough, he remembers the few areas that tend to have more ants around our pool / stone landscape. Great job.
