So we had to pay $500 for bedroom and $300 for living room Bed Bug treatment…read more Two sessions required, first for overall coverage and 2 weeks thereafter, another treatment. Stripped the two rooms, bagged up everything and began process of laundering all clothing, bedding etc. Had to protect food areas, dishes, utensils etc since tment is harmful according to directions. Have to stay out of the house four hours after tment. Sooo I found the spray they use on line for under $100 Given the work involved, it's a rip off by a wealthy privately owned National company. Treatment person was here under 45 mins spraying, will be same with next visit. Certainly it's not the employees fault re pricing but we'll do our own bed bug abatement from here on. Find locally owned providers, get references and consider doing work yourself. I'll keep treating all rooms prophylactically every 5-6 weeks from here on in! Bed bugs are a dirty little secret and one wants it treated and adults and nymphs gone ASAP but $800 PLUS tax is rediculous. My own fault, I signed the contract and our holidays were ruined. Response from Orkin was very good, O had to call to be certain they'd come as advertised. In that context, it was great. Anyway, think about alternatives. I didn't, should have, wasted Christmas money etc. No Senior discounts when I asked. Military only Employee technician is very nice but without knowing exactly what was performed by my own observation, it's just not settling by emotional reaction to the $800 plus tax.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY…read more I hired Orkin for a comprehensive wasp treatment for a nest located near my chimney--directly above my newborn's bedroom. When I called to schedule the service, I was told it would not be an issue. I paid $415 expecting professional, effective removal. What followed was a frustrating, ineffective, and misleading experience: The first technician walked around my house but did not spray the actual nest. The nest continued to grow. I requested a follow-up, specifically noting the need for a ladder to reach the nest near the roof's peak. Two weeks later, a tech returned--without a ladder. Still, I insisted he spray again and watched him do it. Wasps returned again shortly afterward. I informed Orkin that the underlying issue--a gap in the masonry--needed to be sealed to prevent the wasps from coming back. At first, they said this would not be a problem. Then, they quoted me an extra $1,500 for a scissor lift rental, despite initially promising comprehensive service. When I questioned the added cost, I was told it was because the nest was "too high." This height limitation was never mentioned during scheduling or on their website. After nearly 1.5 months, I still have an active wasp nest above my child's room. If you want transparency, follow-through, and actual pest resolution, look elsewhere. Orkin failed on every level. ADDITION: Orkin did provide me with a full refund after creating this post, and we agreed to sever our services with each other.

This is such a creepy subject, I fain to write a review, but I am in hopes that someone else is…read moreencouraged by my experience. Perhaps you may have heard that their is a current bed bug epidemic in the western world. As an international traveler, frequent visiter to New York City, and hostess to friends from the Big Apple, I was well aware of the infestation. Regardless of my due diligence to prevent their appearance, (deep breath, deep breath), those nasty buggers found their way into my home. As can be expected, I went bizzurko! Clearing clutter, vacuuming, spraying over-the-counter pesticide, purchasing mattress and pillow protectors, sprinkling Diatomaceous Earth in every crack and crevice, tossing out unnecessary stuff...you name a home remedy, I probably tried it. I devoured everything I could find on the Internet to be rid of this nuisance and hours and hours of my time was consumed with annihilating it from my home. You can't underestimate the amount of anxiety and lost sleep this pestilence pestilence creates in your life. I battled it for nearly a year and half, with brief periods of reprieve, whenI finally thought I'd overcome. Finally, I acquiesced to the fact: professional help was needed. I called four companies that specialize in bed bug treatment. Out of the four, Rochester Exterminating was by far the most informed. The employee I spoke with, Patty, was thoroughly knowledgeable on the subject, spending more than 20 minutes with me on the telephone, competently answering all of my questions. Rochester Exterminating was the only company that offered both the conventional treatment (sprays and powders), and the heat treatment, (special heaters brought to the house to bring the interior temperature to a point that "cooks" the bugs). The heat treatment was extremely interesting to me, since I have pets and was very concerned about the impact of strong pesticides in the house. An appointment with Ray was scheduled for the following day. The meeting with Ray was surprisingly pleasant. He was good-natured, EXTREMELY knowledgeable, and truly sympathized with my situation. He spent more than an hour and half at my house looking at my mattress, box springs and other furniture. As life would have it, he could not see any evidence of bed bugs (chalk that up to my obsessive at-home treatments). Possibly I eradicated them, possibly they have just learned to become very good hiders, possibly the irritation on my skin could be from some other home invader. Ray was genuinely interested in my plight and was not flippant about the financial investment required for extermination. Regardless of my panicky response of: "maybe we should treat the house, just to be safe," Ray set-up little sticky boxes around the house to "catch" evidence. I am to call him next week and report what I found. In the meantime, he said, relax, live life, and understand that this problem will go away. "We have studied bugs for years and years. Eliminating them is a science that we understand." So, while in truth, Rochester Exterminating has not done any exterminating for me, yet. I know this is a trustworthy company. If, and when I do need an exterminator, they will be the ones I call. Are they the cheapest? No. Are they the most honest and competent? Absolutely!

We called John at Wildlife Resolutions, Inc. when we heard rustling in our walls and discovered…read morewhat looked like chipmunk nests in our insulation. From the start, we were reassured by John's professionalism and obvious expertise. At every stage of the process, he let us know what he was finding and what our options were for dealing with it. He made recommendations (which we took) but left all decisions about modifications to our house and the fate of the animals he trapped up to us. He performed a thorough assessment of our property: inside and out, roof to foundation. He identified evidence of chipmunks, mice, and flying squirrels, and found their points of entry. He developed a plan, in consultation with us, for trapping the animals who were making their nests within our walls while leaving the innocents in the yard alone. John set several live traps, and over the course of about a week, caught a few chipmunks and determined that the flying squirrels had long since left their nests. He gradually closed up all their points of entry, found the exit trails of the mice, and closed those up, too. John guarantees his work for a year, but he's left us confident that our house is clear of all unwanted critters, and will remain so. John has been a pleasure to work with: friendly, informative, humane, patient, and responsive. We absolutely recommend Wildlife Resolutions, Inc.
