To make the process as easy as possible for myself, I hired Bed Bug Laundry NYC to take care of my laundry for me. At first glance I thought it possibly was a scam, but I read reviews on yelp and knew it was a legit company. I was just taken aback by the website and scheduling process. When you call or text the phone number on the website you are met with Chris. He handles all the scheduling. Chris was able to help me schedule my clothing pick up and delivery. They have a process of picking up your clothes, but there is a detailed instructions packet to can answer any of your questions. The great thing about this service is that they will store your clothes for 60 days free of charge which is so helpful during the treatment process. Really glad that I chose Bed Bug Laundry to help me with this process. I definitely recommend! My only issue is that I feel like there should be a little bit more of a formal process, for example a confirmation text about your scheduled pickup/delivery. I just had to call Chris, which is fine, but he's busy and gets so many call everyday, so it's easy for things to slip sometimes. Regardless so thankful for them!

Being 8 months pregnant I wanted to be sure to take all preventative measures. This company rescheduled my pickup 3 different times, which was starting to defeat the purpose as I wanted my luggage treated asap to avoid bringing anything into my home. Finally they came to pick up but I was at work. The luggage( hard shell) was outside the house in contractor bags, under the siding of my house. I just received all my belongings back and there is a bunch of clothes completely ruined with black and blue smudges on it. When contacting the company, they are saying it must be from when I left them outside because it was raining, there was no water on the bags, and I guess when the person treated these items, no one saw any of these stains ? I spent 288 dollars for a service that essentially just ruined my items. I'm highly disappointed.

That was annoying, but what really got to me was that the same person has multiple websites with multiple business names, and multiple phone numbers, all of which lead to him - so I wasted my time researching websites and calling not just once, but three times to different numbers only to go through to the same unpleasant man who could not help me. Seems sketchy to me. So, to save others time, this is the same business as NYC K9 Services Packtite Rentals (www.nyck9services.com) and Cerebrus Environmental Services Packtite Rentals (www.newyorkbedbugremoval.com). On the third call, he tells me he's "the only person in town who rents Packtites" so I was out of luck. I can tell you he is NOT the only person who rents Packtites, and the person I ended up going with was pleasant, helpful, and was able to deliver to the Rockaways.

He explained to me that since they don't offer extermination services, only inspection, they didn't have a conflict of interest in the inspection. This alleviated some anxiety for me and I felt I could trust them. The K9 inspector came out and the dog sniffed around and sure enough caught the scent. Both the dog handler and Jon offered me great advice and helpful links to help make the fumigation prep as efficient as possible. Would absolutely recommend them. It's worth noting that they do offer a discount for Yelp reviews, but on my honor, I would have given them the same 5 star rating and written my review exactly the same.

Once payment was received, that changed. It was impossible to get a response on scheduling the second visit. The customer service representative answers every question with "100%," when in fact, there was 0% service, responsiveness, or resolution. I spent THREE MONTHS! calling, texting, emailing - when I threatened legal action I was told I would be reimbursed for the full amount of my payment - then promptly ghosted again. In the same email, they stated they would not contest if I chose to dispute through my bank. I was informed by my bank two months later that they had, in fact, denied my claim based on the merchants information. The amount of time and energy I have invested into this is so deeply unacceptable. This company should never be used, and should not be allowed to process payments or transactions of any kind. A gross mishandling of money, time, trust, and customer service. I would give 0 stars if Yelp allowed, truly horrific experience.

Their finding: no sign of bed bug presence. Their fee: $125. There may be something to a canine inspection, if they are well-trained, but if you get a report of bed bug presence, take a deep breath and get a second opinion. There seems to be an inherent conflict between a company doing only a canine inspection and then proceeding to exterminate. They likely should give a caveat that such inspections are not fool-proof and suggest you get an independependent analysis. Orkin is most professional and clearly their inspectors are well-trained. I don't get the same feeling about this establishment. Our home was in panic mode after the first inspection. That all ended when Orkin came out.

They then took their time checking and treating areas throughout the rest of my apartment to make sure there weren't any other potential issues.
