The driving instructor I had, Hyra was rude and had a huge ego. I've been taking driving lessons with a family friend for a while now. I mainly took this lesson to supplement for when my current instructor can't take me for lessons, is busy, etc. The Elegant driving school instructor, Hyra was unreceptive to any form of driving that isn't the way he does it. He explicitly told me hand over hand is unacceptable, EVEN while turning which is completely untrue. In fact, it's the preferred method according to many driving experts. 100% recommend this school for CDL class A trainings. I originally signed up with a very popular school in Astoria but I failed my first road test. Was referred to Elegant driving school and I have to say my trainings with Francisco prepared both my boyfriend and I so well we passed our CDLs in April of 2022. student from the place, i paid everything full. a taking two classes they started interest me in manual, so now I have 3 classes left I want to continue with manual? oh no cuz you have to pay extra $250 I didn't even get to take my test because they told me I have to pay $350 to rent out the truck which is included in my package but the dmv Instructor get to give me a free reschedule because i couldn't found my physical license but I had the pdf and my Lerner permit . The receptionist asked me if I wanted it with the same instructor before setting up the first appointment just for my second appointment to be with someone else. HORRIBLE !! School. ALL WOMEN PLEASE STOP AND READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING WITH THIS SCHOOL FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY!!! The teacher that I was paired up with named FRANK screamed at the top of his lungs at every and any given moment, the disrespect displayed is on another level. Takes a picture of your permit on his personal phone which is weird and unusual, I wish I would've stopped him. He takes it to check your DMV score as if he's in charge. They have conversations with the instructors before the test and afterwards which I believe is to fail you on purpose to get more money off of you. Inappropriate touching and kisses your hand, asked me to take off my mask to see my face, for what reason ? Creepy creepy energy. Do not listen to the high reviews because it's baffling that they are rated a 4.7 with this bad behavior. Please read into all the negative reviews they all say the same. He asked me to let him take me on road test lessons on his own without the schools notice. ALL WOMEN PLEASE PLEASE STAY FAR FAR AWAY !! Had to tell him to drop me off my friends house due to him insisting to personally drive me home. This is unacceptable disgusting behavior and should not be still going on after many reviews complaining about the same instructor. This is a sexual harassment case waiting to happen!! DO NOT take your test in the Bronx, go to Long Island or Kissena in Queens, it's a long trip there but they treat you with respect and genuinely help you get your license the right way! I had a great experience using this school for my driving lessons , I went with barely any driving experience took three class and passed my road test all in one week. The driving instructor Luis was great to work with he was very patient , attentive , knowledgeable and really helped make the whole experience more comfortable. I was super anxious about learning to drive but he really encourages you highlights what are you doing well and helps you with any areas of improvement. I'll be coming back for highway lessons ! I HIGHLY recommend this driving school. I signed up for the 10 lesson package. This includes the 5-hour class, the car for the test, and they set up everything for you for the Road test appointment. I took the 10 lesson package and passed today, my first time. Rafael was my instructor, he is also the owner of the company. He was very patient and encouraging. He took the time to explain everything to me so that I would remember all the steps for safe driving. The staff works with you to schedule the lessons at a time that is convenient for you and email you in advance to remind you. What I really liked about this school it's a small organization. The receptionist is very easy to communicate with and remembers you and your situation. I took the test and passed on my first try! Elegant Driving school was recommended by one of my former associates, she told me she took 15 lessons with them years ago and pass her road test the first time with Rafael. I trusted her and went to schedule lessons and my road test back in September 2021. This was my experience with the school....... I didn't receive Rafael as my instructor, they lost my 5-hour certificate, which I paid for in the previous school I attended and it took them 4 months to schedule my lessons and road test after I explain to them that I was pregnant with twins and I didn't want to take the exam so close to my due date. Nevertheless, December approaches, and I got scheduled with 4 different instructors, none with Rafael. Two of them were smoking outside the car prior to me taking my lesson. I made a complaint to the receptionist and they put me with an instructor who I felt was very harsh throughout my lesson. When teaching someone how to drive you to have to be very patient so that students can build his/her confidence. I paid $275 to get the right training from the instructors but they were all unprofessional and very unorganized at the office. Criticize each other and spoke about their experience working at the school and how unhappy they were. In my opinion, if I'm paying for a lesson, I don't want to hear negative feedback about the school, I want to receive the right proper training because that is what I am paying for. In all my scheduled lessons none of my instructors were on time. In one of my lessons, an instructor told me that they don't give the students too much help or show them tactics on how to pass the exam so that the student fails the road test and comes back to pay for more lessons, in other words, they set you up to fail. I wanted to tell the manager who is Rafael, but he was on vacation. On the day of my road test, I had my last lesson and again a waste of time. My instructor was yelling at me in the car and I felt discouraged. I had another instructor take me to the road test, and was speeding on our way over there and back . I was afraid for my life on the highway. The car they gave me to take the exam in, was dirty and it was hard to look at the mirrors to park the car, also the breaks made a weird sound. My experience with them has been the worst I have ever encountered in any driving school. Disappointed by their customer service and professionalism. I will never recommend anyone to attend this school. Save your time and money!!! read more

So i tried the C.D.L class A training with this school and i had the worst experience ever! I paid for 10 lessons for $1,175.00 and they only give you 45 to 90 mins of training. You're only getting 20 hours of training which is a joke, because it's only 5 days of training and its not enough to be ready for the road test. The only thing we did was drive around Hunts point for my first lesson and thats it. We did the in cab inspection and 2 straight back parking which is not enough to prepare you for the road test and i had 2 lessons left. For my last 2 lessons they asked me if i wanted to finish the training in a manual truck instead which is very unprofessional because i paid for the automatic truck. I was so upset that I asked for a refund and canceled the road test because like i said its not enough training for that amount of money and i was no where near ready. So they refunded me $475.00 and the same day i went to a new school for 120 hrs of training UNLIMITED ROAD TEST!!! and they guarantee you to get your C.D.L It is called Driving Academy Road To FREEDOM and they do life time job placement. So if you're planning to get your C.D.L. I highly recommend them and its worth the money. i don't recommend Elegant driving school to anyone. Don't waist your time! read more

I started out with doubts about this driving school as I was taking a chance. The price is definitely the best out there plus you receive a discount for students. The customer service is remarkable and the staff accommodates your schedule. The owner went as far as to schedule a 5 hour driving class on a Saturday to accommodate my daughter which was definitely more than most would do. She started her lessons at 16 y.o. but today, I am glad to say that my daughter passed her driving exam at the age of 17 y.o. on her first try! Big THANKS to George and Raphael! I've been to a couple other previous driving schools in Staten island that were more professional I feel. I had my first lesson in the Bronx with elegant driving school. My instructor arrived 10 minutes late. I'm happy this wasn't my first lesson driving ever, as I knew the basics. My instructor actually had me driving first right off the bat. I noticed I never was asked to see my permit, which is worrisome. Other schools won't let you into the front seat without this check. I'll be trying another local Bronx driving school later. I probably wouldn't go with this school ever again. Instructors have to be more social and make you feel comfortable so driving becomes fun. read more
