I have nothing but wonderful things to say about working with Bug Man Termite & Pest Control. Tori in the front office is professional, responsive, proactive, and kind in her communication. What more could you ask for?! I had a technician come and inspect one of our STR properties and I was able to get an appointment, inspection, and quote for recommended next steps promptly and at a reasonable cost. I have now scheduled the work with Tori and her team and will provide an update after the work has been completed. Given I was hesitant to reach out to them at first given their overall star rating, I read through a few of the reviews and was able to see that they were under new management. As someone who has worked with them under new management, I thought it was important to share my positive experience with the Yelp community. Huge mistake hiring them for our termites. They did nearly $5,000 worth of property damage. I have been calling them for a month to have the skylight replaced (they put their foot through it). We had rain and yes we now live with a pot in bathroom. They Kelly have completely blown me off to have the gutter repaired. We got it repaired yesterday $350 It wasn't just knocked off completly broken. When I called them and said it's our main gutter. When it rained we flooded $3500 in damage. Need new carpet So much more. Muddy boots on my stairs inside. They used a very valuable vase to prop open a window. read more

This company has the rudest office staff and tenting crew. Their booking department is always confused and miss bill for services. Only the technicians that do the spraying are great. The tenting crew were threatening and made racial comments. They destroyed and damaged many things purposely. And threatened to damage more. I would try any of the other companies over this one. Terrible customer service by Kelly in the office. Personal property missing (I don't think it was stolen, just accidentally wrapped up in tarp when leaving property). Kelly was completely dismissive and unwilling to look into the issue. I see she has been rude and dismissive to other customers on previous reviews. I wish I could give a negative star rating for my experience with Bug Man. Workers broke into our house instead of waiting a few minutes for us to arrive with keys. In the process of breaking in, they bent window screens, broke glass, and left muddy boot prints on our windowsills. When I complained to the manager Tim, he threatened to not do the job because I wanted him to sign a paper accepting liability for the damage and providing the names of the individuals who broke in. He said he wouldn't do the job because he thought I would "bend [him] over and FUCK [HIM] IN THE ASS no matter what [he] does!" That is how he spoke to me after his people broke into my house. Classy. When he finally agreed to do the job, his employees broke several planters around our property, killed hundreds of dollars worth of plants surrounding our house, broke a glass bottle and threw the bin it was in, broke a PVC pipe off our drainage system, broke a fence on the side of our house, stole a speaker and some copper pipes that were in the house, and even took a piss in the toilet and let it sit there with the seat up. That is just the damage we found so far. It seems like we keep finding new damage every day. This is an unprofessional and rude company. Their rates are cheaper than their competitors for a reason. It is worth spending a little extra money on a more reputable company. Bug Man deserves to go out of business. read more

If I could give a ZERO rating, I would. We scheduled a house tenting in Makawao for our home. We made a down payment of one-third of the charge. On the day of the tenting, the crew showed up in Surf Rental trucks and were extremely unprofessional. We have many cats on our property that had to be placed in kennels under a large tent set up in our yard. After walking around for several hours and basically doing nothing, their supervisor showed up and stated that the crew would not be able to place the tent on the house. It costs us over $700 to round up the cats and rent the kennels and tent. This didn't matter to them, they jumped in their vehicles and left, leaving me infuriated. Another fumigation company responded to give us a new estimate and found no reason that the tent couldn't be placed on the roof. We have a new metal roof on our home that is nice and solid. We were given multiple different excuses as to why the tent could not be placed on the home. Our animals were traumatized for no reason. This is not a fake review. Think twice before hiring these clowns. I would guess that this company is going to go out of business very shortly. I hope I get my down payment back before that happens. read more

My house was tented by the Bug Man for termite. The tenting was arranged by my realtor but still I was not given any information or precautions about the tenting or contacted by Bug Man. When I did contact them, my questions were brushed off. read more

After using the Bug Man service for termites we have experienced damage to the property after the Bug Man removed the tent from our home. They were contacted and photos were sent to them showing the damage.The owner responded to say that they were not responsible as their contract reads not responsible for damages. It seems like the Bug Man does not care about your property and can do damage without any recourse. I would stay away from this company if you have termite or bug problems. I am sure that there are more reputable companies out there that will do an excellent job without damaging your property. read more

I hope this review puts this company out of business, they left a huge hole in our tent and didn't tell us and tried denying it, they then came for another appointment and came the day before and denied that the messed up appointment was their fault. Avoid this company. They are unprofessional and their customer service is horrible. Not organized and ran by a woman that is truly rude when tou call with a problem. They get the dates and/ or the times always wrong. When they come, they rush and only do half the units. Everyone is having problems with roaches and ants and having this quaterly service is useless and in fact at this point it is a problem. Because when we call they argue with you and refuse to address the issues saying that the owners are lying. Unacceptable. We are going with Bowman, rated #1 in Maui. I used to live in Haleakala Gardens and we had Bowman, there was never any issues, ever. And nobody ever had a bug in their homes. Since I have lived in this new place, so many problems with Bugman, always pests inside the house, and a customer service that insults you when you call with an issue. Absolutely the worst pest control company. We are going thru a nightmare with them. First they missed the tenting appt that was confirmed by them the day before. An incredibly rude and abrasive customer service rep Kelly then lied about the missed appt then instead of rescheduling for the following day they made us wait another 5 days. When they finally did tent our cottage they had a big hole in the tent where gas escaped into the surrounding residents homes. The service rep denied it despite the fact that the crew came back later and pinched it off. The owner was dismissive rude and unapologetic. The tenting crew did not have adequate materials to seal the bottom of the tent and pulled out rocks from the walls and yard to "seal" the tent. The following day when they removed it they tossed chicken bones everywhere in the yard and broke sprinklers and washing machine drain pipes. They damaged our roof and used no fall protection. They wore rubber slippers on the roof when working! This is not the original Bugman from years ago. There are new owners. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !!! Use professionals. read more

I started with this company 16 years ago when the father ran the company. Service was excellent. Recently the father died and I'm told the family took over. It is a disaster. They NEVER arrive on time IF they arrive at all. They have not helped the foliage issue (infestation) despite many treatments. The supervisor arrives and says "I guess we need to try something different" after multiple failed treatments which is what I told them months ago. He said, "I'll have the office call to set up an appointment to give both topical and systemic treatments". Guess what? A week later no one has called. This is a chronic issue and has happened before. So I called and got an appt. lined up and guess what? They didn't show at all! So I called again and was rescheduled. Tomorrow is the appointment and today the office called and said the owner said I was too difficult to deal with and they won't be coming. The people running this company never learned anything from their father and would have been far ahead if they just sold the business when it was thriving. Thank you for "getting rid of me" before I got rid of you. Unfortunately for some of the employees who are nice and try their hardest, the owners and office are incompetent. If there are any good reviews on this company in the last year or so, it's a false reviewer most likely. read more
