So instead of losing money paying for service that didn't work, but I'm not going to lose a days pay because they watered down the chemicals. So I cancelled the contract and will find a retable company that can service our home.

And I have generally been satisfied. Their folks come on time -- or offer to come early if they're ahead of schedule -- and are always pleasant and efficient. BUT they do one thing that drives me crazy: Instead of contacting the customer to schedule an appointment at a convenient time, their automated scheduler simply informs you that they're coming at X date and time. Because my schedule varies, that almost never works, and I have to waste my time contacting them to reschedule. When I complained about this once, they said, roughly, that they have to do it this way. No they don't. I've never encountered another business that operates this way and it's a constant source of frustration.

I property manage a house in Kapalua which has a quarterly spray by Terminix. Jason, our tech, is always on time, polite, really helpful with any problems we are experiencing (we set rat traps and caught the wee beastie straight away), is knowledgeable and just a really nice guy who does a great job! We have problems with centipedes (like most people on Maui, including my own home) and they are always dead when I find them which is a relief. After a spray there might be a few more dead insects about, but that means it is working :) I would recommend Jason, he is friendly and a professional.

If you have this plan and see damage from termites, remember that they will have to find a "live" termite for the warranty to go in effect. Unless the "live" termite surfaces, the inspector will dig into the wood with a screwdriver or sharp tool to look for it. Terminex will not fix the damage they cause. Better to have your home inspected every 5 years or so or when droppings occur.
