Excellent Ice Cream--Excellent Service!!!! Nice to see locally owned business!!! Hope to visit it again!!

Ice cream is top of the line. A great place to cool off on your summer vacay.

With the tons of choices of ice cream on the Cape you may miss a place like this. This spot sits in downtown Chatham and is near the end of the town. The ice cream is creamy and they have tons of flavors and waffle cones. The staff is friendly and it hits the spot, however the prices are a bit extreme for Cape Cod and surprisingly high. Overall though great flavors and great tasting. read more

Advertised as Chatham's only home-made ice cream made me have to go in for an afternoon pick-me-up. So many wonderful flavors! It was difficult to choose just one.... so I had two. My Mint Oreo and Coffee Heath were met with no regrets. They were equally creamy, dreamy, delicious. read more

Buffy's Ice Cream - So Many Flavors! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Chatham, Massachusetts

Best ice cream in Chatham. Family owned. Homemade flavors. Expensive but worth it. read more

Better selections than most ice cream parlors and huge portions. Definitely a hit with the crowd seeing how long the line was to order. And, a hit with me! read more

My first time ever in Chatham. A definite awww provoking little town, and no fewer than 4 different ice cream parlors along Main Street, by my count. Buffy's ended up being the lucky recipient of my patronage and $4.25 out of my wallet (!?!) for a one scoop. Normally I like smoother, lighter ice cream. This was a thick, rich substance that you had to dig for. But once in your mouth, it was really good flavor (butter pecan). Mm. Probably 20 different flavors at this place, also does shakes and stuff like that. No sorbets/sherbets from what I saw. I know that the Cape is a tourist haven, but I still wasn't expecting ice cream here to be more expensive than Boston. But yes it was. I left feeling a little bit ripped off, but then I went to the ice cream place one block up and they were at $4.75 for a one scoop, so. Yikes. read more

It ain''t cheap, but is worth the wait in line and cost. Bring cash. Ice cream is excellent, not your Baskin Robbins. My favorite Cookie Dough was perfect, chunky. Better get on the treadmill after your devilish treat. Its worth the price.... read more

I can only talk about the raspberry lime rickeys, at least for now. I grew up in MA and definitely took my ability to find a great, is even decent raspberry lime rickey for granted. Visiting the cape for the weekend, I knew I had to enjoy one while I could. Buffy's gave me one of the best raspberry lime rickey's I have ever had. The secret is, that instead of just cutting up a lime and throwing it in the cup, they actually have a juicer that put all that amazing fresh squeezed lime juice right into the cup. Now, I do like my rickey's a little on the sour side, so this was perfect for me - just a head's up for those sweet toothes out there. Yes, they are a little pricey. But for satisfying my intense craving, they get 5 stars in my book. read more

We stopped in for their fresh squeezed lemonade and it was fantastic!! Not too sweet and perfectly tart. Perfect! We didn't try their ice cream but the menu looked great. Love the old staff pictures lining the walls. Cute place in Chatham. read more

Vegan ice cream that was excellent!! I thought I had the best vegan ice cream yesterday in P-Town, Buffy's pulled trump and then some!! I had their chocolate and strawberry vegan ice cream, they were both made with coconut milk. Both were quite delish!! All of their ice cream is handmade daily from what it sounds. In summary when I have an amazing vegan ice cream experience I have to give 5 stars. read more

We always love coming to Buffy's. I clearly must be rolling in money that I don't know about, bcs the prices just don't seem that bad to me. I don't know. Maybe my Starbucks habit has made me oblivious to price. Service is great. Sometimes it can get confusing with the line, because there's not enough room for people to stand to the side. So you get someone who seems to be in line, until you realize that they're still deciding. But the staff is really good about noticing and calling for the next people in line. You will probably have to wait, but the line moves pretty fast. Ice cream is also great. I mean, it's hard to screw up ice cream, right? But it's all homemade and they have lots of good, fun flavors as well as classics. Coffee oreo FTW! One thing that's kind of weird. I asked for butterscotch, and the guy gave me a ladle from a bucket labeled "caramel." He saw me looking at it sideways, and said, "oh it's actually butterscotch. it just says caramel." So I asked what they do if someone wants caramel, and he said, "We tell them it's butterscotch." I mean, I'll eat either with a spoon, but I know some people don't care for butterscotch. If the price bugs you, I would definitely suggest you check out any of the other zillions of ice cream places. But I always stop at Buffy's at least once, and I would recommend you at least try it once no matter what! read more

3 stars for the fact that they had vegan ice cream. It was the smallest ice cream scoops I've ever seen. It cost $15 INSANE. Not worth the $. So many other great ice cream shops like Katie's in Hyannis. read more

OK, the price is a bit outrageous (even by NYC standards where I live). But this is delicious ice cream.... creamy, rich, flavorful. Definitely a favorite on the cape (and might even be better than sundae school in my book). Coffee oreo really stands out here, but they have so many flavors to choose from. read more

$5 for a single scoop seems outrageous, however... - it's the only hand-made ice cream in Chatham, and you can tell - super thick, creamy, and generous scoop - Coffee Oreo is to die for Worth it! read more

More expensive than most ice cream spots on the Cape. Found that they have more delicious coffee ice cream than these other places. Nice spot to sit outside at picnic tables. Cones are wrapped in paper and service was good. read more

Homemade, in the back, daily, the staff is super always very nice, they say it's expensive but the town's expensive I know in Boston it cost more than this. read more

Went here on a bustling hot summer day. Line was out the door, so definitely be prepared to wait. They have a $10 credit card minimum, but this isn't quite a problem given the price of the ice-cream. Homemade, this ice cream goes for $6.50 for a "one scoop" size (fairly generous), and $7.50 for a "two scoop size". If you're with more than one person, you'll have no problem with the credit card minimum. I got the coffee heath bar flavor, which didn't have as much "heath bar" as I was expecting. My mom got the raspberry chip flavor which was filled with large rectangles of chocolate. Overall very good ice-cream, fast service, and local shop. read more

Banana chocolate chip for the win. I love all things banana, especially when paired with chocolate. This wasn't fake banana flavor - it was natural and sooooo good. Probably a bit overpriced, but it was a generous scoop and it's summer on the Cape so overpriced ice cream is par for the course. Also a plus, the staff seemed thrilled with my overly energetic 2.5 year old. I'm a fan of any place that not only tolerates his craziness but thinks it's cute. read more

The ice cream is soooooooo good. All of the ice cream is home made. There's a long line on a summer night, but the girls behind the counter did a nice job handling the volume. I only detract a star due to the price. A bit pricey for ice cream, but it is the Cape, and it is Chatham. Free jimmies are a great addition! read more

Although Buffy's ice cream parlor is an adorable spot to grab a scoop, our service tonight was absolutely appalling. The young blonde woman who took our order was vile. I asked to try two flavors and before I finished she asked me to order. I asked for a milkshake and the wrong one was made so I asked for the one I wanted. While she was making the correct order she complained about the mistake to two other coworkers which I could hear. She then put a bunch of water and milk in the milkshake making it extremely thin. Once she gave it to me she slammed the cash register when she took payment and was very rude during the cashing out process. I was very excited to try this spot, but after this experience I would not go back. The experience ruined the ice cream for me and I hope that no one else experiences the rude blond girl at the front desk. The other two workers seemed very nice. read more

(I started this review last summer and apparently forgot to click post...) A lot of reviews on here are talking about how this is some of them best ice cream on the Cape, so we were in Chatham and figured we'd give it a shot. My family tried three different flavors of "hard" ice cream that were quite soft...perhaps this is why the cost is so high. Keeping the ice cream colder allows for more air in each scoop, subsequently increasing the life of a container of ice cream (Shout out to Marcus Lemonis for that little tid bit!). The flavor was okay, but certainly not worth the hype or the price. The service left something to be desired too, I felt like I was bothering the guys working there from the moment we walked in the door. Perhaps it was just an "off" day, but the negatives compounded pretty quickly for me. read more

Ok so me and my friends were looking for a place to get ice cream when we were in Chatham and we decided on Buffy's. There was a small line but it went pretty quick. When looking at the menu, we realized that a small size is $6.50!!! $6.50 for a small is ridiculous!! I mean sure, it's Chatham and everything but like .....that's SO expensive! My friends agreed and we even contemplated leaving and going to another place, however we ultimately decided to stay. I got the small black raspberry chip with sprinkles in a cup. It ended up being $6.96 with tax. The ice cream was good, but not $6.96 good. Basically, if you're in Chatham and are looking for a good ice cream place, I would not recommend Buffy's unless you're willing to pay an insane amount for ice cream. read more

You will probably never find better ice cream than this place right here! My family always made it a point to make it to Buffy's when on the cape, even when staying 45 minutes away we would drive to town just for this joint!! Now that I'm older and come to the cape with friends rather than family, I always be sure to stop by and show my friends the best ice cream they'll have! read more

Sublime. Old Cape delicious. Red Rasberry Fudge was a dream and Mocha Chip a beautiful contrast. Nice job on the old fashioned New England ice cream soda. Went back with 8 people over three different nights. read more

Terrible service! I asked someone who was at the register to get something, she sighed twice in front of me Face to Face!!! I'll never going there again!! Price is also too expensive! Terrible, terrible service!! It's only I can explain about this store!! read more

Totally worth the price tag... Next time I will order a larger size too! Easily located on the strip in downtown Chatham.... The sundae my daughter had was amazzzing... Will be back. read more

Any flavor I have tried has been spectacular. Made on site, and so many flavors! Of course, as other reviewers have said, the price is high. Two single cones runs you 14 dollars. But when you're in Chatham, enjoying the summer, people watching on Main Street, what else would you expect? I say, I'm on vacation, treat yourself! The mint chocolate chip is to die, made with Ben and Jerry's quality chocolate chunks, but my money's for the black raspberry. Mmmm. read more

I went to "Buffy's" with high hopes and instead had to stand and watch little 8 year old jimmy remake my milkshake 4 times to still end up with a flavored milk drink. Ran me about $9 for that and another $9.50 for a brownie with a scoop of ice cream on it. Next time I'll stick with a Yoohoo for 1/32nd the price. read more

You can probably skip other ice cream places in town. A standout in a land of great ice cream joints; just fantastic ice cream and good service. They too seem to have a pretty high opinion of their ice cream: $8 for a double in a cone, ouch! But hey-- Homemade. Chatham. Main Street. Seasonal. Whaddya gonna do? Worth the money in my opinion. Go here. read more

Have been to this ice cream store in the past and enjoyed it the last times I was there. However this past weekend was a new adventure. The cookie dough ice cream had to have expired in 2019 as it was old, rock hard, with ice crystals in it and was totally lacking in taste. For a yo-yo, one scoop of ice cream in a dish and a two scoop ice cream dish for $25 is exorbitant. There are other places in town that I will go to before returning here. I like supporting local businesses, but there are other local businesses in Chatham Massachusetts that will see me before I return to Buffy's read more

Sooo good! Totally worth the long line, simply devoured in seconds:) Love the selection of flavors

Buffy's has great ice cream don't get me wrong but $12 dollars for a single scoop in a waffle cone is a bit steep.

Buffy's is our favorite ice cream in Chatham. Great texture, great flavor, and not too sweet. We try to go at least once a day :-) whenever we are in Chatham. Favorite flavors: oreo, coffee heath bar, coffee oreo. read more

Buffy's has lovely ice cream from what I tasted. Customer service was the biggest issue presuming the establishment only had one person serving and assisting people on the cashier. Line was enourmous around 3:00pm on a Thursday. Still amazing ice cream! The location is great as well. read more

Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely! Creamy, thick, homemade and deliciously delicious ice cream. I can't wait to go back again! read more

Holy over-priced. Ice cream was good but $18 for two small servings in waffle cones is insane.

I hear that their ice cream is terrific. But I can't say personally because over the past two years, every time I go there they are closed. Oh well, I'll try again in 2020. read more

A childhood tradition continued into my adulthood! Best in Chatham. Part of the Chatham experience.
