I love their vinegars and oils. If you cannot visit the store, delivery is great! You should visit their store.

So expensive but what a great selection of infused oils and vinegar. The white balsamic with watermelon/rose was our teen's favorite and pairs well over fresh summer salads and crumbled feta. I was partial to the dark balsamic infused with maple or Amarena cherries. Drizzle that over fresh fruit. Yum. The base olive oil was ok, but too high priced. That said, the gremolata infusion was very clever. Nice over lamb, oxtail and/Or pappardelle. read more

We thought we would catch the leaves changing in the East and had never been to the "Cape". Well it is everything I envisioned. We like the quaint little towns .We found Chatham,Ma. Following our standard approach we drove through town first to survey the landscape. We ,then, walked it . At one end of Main Street we found Gustare. They are an olive oil and balsamic vinegar store that markets their products with tastings.They must have at least 30 variations of products.We had no idea that you could buy so many different flavors. We asked how to use their products and were astonished by all of the ways we could enhance our food.They call it pairings like wines. My wife chatted with the lady in charge,Catherine, and was given a lot of great ideas. The next thing I knew we were buying some bottles . We were about to leave and I asked if it was possible to ship some bottles as holiday gifts. Voila, we shortened our list of gifts to buy by 7 people. We got home and tried the Porcini infused olive oil as a substitute for butter in our scrambled eggs. It was over the top. I highly recommend this place as a don't miss if you are on the Cape. read more

We love this shop. We visit every year and when we go back to New York we order from them regularly. The customer service and care are above and beyond. The products are gourmet and the best quality. There are som many varieties. These really are specialty products that you won't find elsewhere. When we order online, the shipping is amazingly fast. We have our items in two or three days. This place is AWESOME!! We bought a bunch of their flavored balsamic vinegars and each one is better than the last. The fig and the dark chocolate balsamic vinegars are the stand out best. The espresso, strawberry, pomegranate and lemon balsamic vinegars are also delicious. They will taste amazing in a salad, over sharp, firm cheese or ice cream. They also have a tremendous assortment of flavored olive oils. The hubby, being Italian, is an olive oil purist and wouldn't partake in the flavored olive oil. That being said, I am sure they are delicious. We did have the balsamic pesto sauce which was outrageously good! The staff is friendly and not overbearing. During our short stay in the Cape, we came here twice! read more

Really cool spot if you're looking for Olive Oil or Balsamic Vinegar. I found the staff to be very positive and love the fact you can taste the oils and vinegars prior to purchasing. I also bought a bag of Truffle Chips for $10.50 but can't say they're worth the price as they're no more tasty than a regular bag of chips. read more

Such a cool olive oil and vinegar shop. I buy many family and friends Christmas and birthday presents here. They make their gift bags look gorgeous! Try cool combos such as orange or lemon olive oils with cranberry, apricot, maple or strawberry vinegars. Last week they had a crock pot of beans and Italian sausages flavored with four of their vinegars/oils. So good I went back to get the recipe and ingredients. Will make it this holiday season. Favorite olive oil: Tuscany. Favorite vinegar: can't decide. I find all their fruity vinegars so good and able to transform many salads. Tasting cups so you can sample anything. read more

My boyfriend and I were attended on by one of the owners, David, the two days (in a row!) that we visited Gustare. He's super nice and knowledgeable about the oils and vinegars he sells, and also really helpful. The shop itself is also really nice and clean-- there are mini vats set up filled with different infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars with tiny cups so you can try whatever strikes your fancy. The labels are also helpful, with suggestions about how to use the oil or vinegar. Their website also has recipes, too. Both times we went in, we did not walk out empty-handed, and the hardest part was deciding what to buy. there's so much to choose from! Most oils cost about $15, and the vinegars about $12-14- a great price, imo, especially given the knowledge and love that go into the products! read more

I've been a customer at Gustare for years and I guess business must be doing very well if they are turning away customers at the door because they don't have a mask. They seem to be the only shop in town that still requires being masked, I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere. read more

Incredibly unfriendly owner - I went for the first time and the owner couldn't even muster a "hello" or "welcome" and kept scowling at us - can't figure out why (my race? my toddler?). The worker who helped us was very nice and helpful but the owner, from behind the register, made us feel so unwelcome. Would not recommend and will not return. Editing to respond to owner's comment: we were actually the only ones in the store. One woman came in after us but it was by no means "extraordinarily busy". This is what made it unacceptable. read more

They lost my business today. Went in with my son and girlfriend. Let us know to pour any tasting for my son and perfectly acceptable. Anther woman was oblivious to her bag and knocked two bottles off the shelf and knocked another one on. My son being good natured helped pick them up when an employee came up and gave him what I consider a dirty look for doing something wrong. He wasn't even in front of the shelves where the oil that got knocked over. I stopped tasting and decided not to buy anything due to that and won't buy things in the future if that's how they're going to be. Children aren't the only ones who knock things over. So for that I give this a 1 star. read more

David & Catherine & their team have always been very friendly to us. Their store is a lot of fun, and they are helpful with providing suggestions for pairings. We live on the opposite coast but still buy oils & vinegars from them online and follow their blog with several great & fun recipes. I'm glad that all of the other reviewers enjoyed their time at Gustare. I was so looking forward to some pleasant olive oil tasting. An immediate turn-off that eventually drove me from the place was the suggestion that I was using my camera inappropriately to steal their good ideas. As an accomplished traveler, I have shopped for oils and vinegars around the world. I was excited to see a US store that had a similar setup to other fine food establishments such as Harrods and other similar stores in London where I've had the pleasure of tasting. Having been to Greece, Italy, and other Mediterranean destinations, I've had my fair share of Balsamics, including 60 year old varieties. After making a circuit through the store, I had come back to the front and one of the two clerks had come free. She suggested that I was using my camera to steal ideas. I had to admit, I was a little surprised. Chatham is a touristy area. I cannot be the only person carrying a camera on a beautiful summer day. Further, I never took a single frame in their store. Even if I had, its a facility open the public. I could definitely imagine myself wanting to take a picture to send to friends or make a blog posting of. Instead, I'm writing a negative review hoping that they will be a bit more flexible in their policies and treatment of their customers. In any case, I was driven from the store by the clerk's attitude and insinuation that I was there to steal their ideas. Its both of our losses -- I may have enjoyed tasting a buying some treats for both myself and for friends. Its a great idea, but definitely not unique -- and they lost a customer. Hopefully in the future the staff won't jump to conclusions, and will welcome all customers. read more

This is an absolutely fabulous store with an incredible selection of unique and delicious olive oils and vinegars. I'm thinking about eating a bowl of lettuce every meal for the next week topped with one of the 3 vinegars I bought (the new cranberry-pear is amazing!) The owners are wonderful people who are super knowledgeable not only about the product, but about cooking in general, which comes in handy when you're trying to narrow down which products to buy (you'll want them all!) Gustare is a gourmet's paradise with countless varieties of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. One of my favorites is the espresso balsamic which is so wonderful on sliced berries with yogurt! I use the garlic and lemon ev olive oils for dipping crusty bread, making salads and seafood. Also, a great go-to place for gifts. Why bring wine when balsamic lasts so much longer? read more

Pomegranate balsamic vinegar: hands down the absolute best vinegar I have ever tasted! Gustare has the most amazing selection of oils and vinegars that compliment any meal- and I should know... I have seven bottles in my kitchen! My Mom has given us a number of different oils and vinegars from Gustare over the years, and though we've really enjoyed them, we hadn't had the opportunity to check out the store until recently. It was a lot of fun, and I'm glad we stopped in. The store is small, and full of containers of different olive oils and flavored vinegars, which customers are free to sample. There are dozens to choose from, and it was neat to mix and match to come up with different flavor combinations. The lavender vinegar was particularly tasty, as was the oregano one. I do wish that they had made small pieces of bread available to sample the oil and vinegar with, because tasting those things straight-- even a drop at a time-- made me feel a little queasy after a while. This is my second time at the shop. I can't believe the number of infused vinegar they have at this shop. You can taste all of them and each container has a card with serving suggestions. Black cherry vinegar on vanilla ice cream? That's what we were told two years ago. We bought a bottle and wow, yes, it was good with vanilla ice cream. We bought the fig infused vinegar this time as it tastes like it would go well with almost any kind of salad. The small sampler set of four is a bit pricy, but seems like a good gift idea. read more

I love this place! There are so many different flavors of oil and vinegar, definitely something for everyone. I found that I really loved some of the sweeter vinegars, like pomegranate, and the owner suggested trying it on ice cream. Aaaand it's amazing. I also love the tuscan herb olive oil... What a wonderful place! Gustare Oils are definetely known by their quality of oil and the uniqueness of their flavors. The tasting room and shop is beautifully decorated with a warm and welcoming environment. The walls are covered with tasteful art of olives and Italian scenery, making this family owned shop very inviting to customers. The owners, Dave and Catherine, are very knowledgeable about their infused oils and vinegars, along with great recommendations of food parings and recipes to make with the particular oils/vinegars you buy. Dave and Catherine make it easy for you to taste all of the different types of oils/vinegars by providing little tasting cups to use with each different flavor you want to try. Personally, I bought the Sage and Wild Mushroom Oil and the Italian Herb oil which both I have found are Phenomena, not to mention affordable!! It was hard to decide on which ones to buy because the options are endless! I highly recommend this shop as a "must-see" when on the cape!! read more

Similar experience as Christopher H.. I usually ask before taking pictures. I made a mistake of not asking. They told me that they don't allow people to take picture especially if they don't ask. Ouch :-) . I got overly excited since my family is olive oil producer. We were warned about our kids right after we enter the store. They shouldn't touch this they shouldn't touch that etc. I am sorry for not asking before I take the pictures. I won't ever come to your store again. read more
