The beef chow mein was also neutral and not here nor there. Beef and broccoli was mixed with garlic. Overall,. Not much to say, food was fresh but very neutral, didn't realise it was from a buffet when ordered. I'd say it was good for buffet standards but not great by a la carte standards. Probably makes more sense to eat there than order in.

You can find a few Fu Lam buffets in this province. We arrived at this one on opening dinner hour,…read moreon a Friday afternoon. The good: Food was just out and fresh. Lots and lots of sushi choices. Everything was hot. Service at table was nice and our plates were picked up on a regular basis. Restaurant was quite empty though, but it was quiet. The bad: Music choice was a hip radio station, felt odd eating food with Beastie Boys playing in the background. Soft drinks came in cans and not glasses (I hate those). Deserts tasted like "fridge", which means they were made in advance and been in the fridge for a while (cakes excluded). Pizza is super dry! Ceiling was dripping at the entrance, so you had a bucket surrounded by three chairs with a sign "Do not sit down" on them. If you get there at opening hours, you will have lots of choices, with everything fresh, in an empty and quiet restaurant. But avoid the deserts and the bucket at the entrance.

This place was recommended by a trusty friend who has lived and traveled extensively to Japan,…read moretherefore I believed them when they recommended Yami for good sushi. I'll preface this by saying that I am not a sushi connoisseur and just recently started trying out more sushi varieties outside of the fast food and supermarket genre. I've tried Yami on a couple occasions now for take out and really appreciate the simple menus with pictures, attentive service, generous portions and fair pricing. This is surprisingly a very busy place even during this time of year, when I went to get my food, the phones were always ringing off the hook and the restaurant was swarmed with delivery app drivers coming to get orders. I have enjoyed everything I tasted so far in terms of their sushi offerings and the other friends I shared food with had the same opinion. You can see the staff making the sushi for you, everything is fresh and made to order. I particularly loved the "dragon eye" sushis or those with a more "western" spin that contained chicken or beef, cream cheese and teriyaki or spicy sauces. These were total flavor bombs. There are all kinds of varieties and the website is well designed if you want to order in advance and get an idea along with photos of the food. Note that Yami also serves a range of Asian cuisine, popular Chinese dishes such as noodles, fried rice, veggies, general Tsao chicken, etc. We tried a noodle dish and it was very tasty but the portion was somewhat small and not meant for sharing. I'll be coming back for sushi because there are plenty more to try and I'm very excited for whenever restaurants are fully open again, this place has a buffet and judging by the quality of food so far, I'm confident the buffet will have some great choices.

Butter chicken, rice, tandoori chicken, salad and a vegetable portion. All were good. It was a good size and reasonably priced. I wanted to try the chicken Tikka Masal but I chose the Thali. It is a milk solid based sweet, traditionally made from curdled milk, soaked in a light sugary syrup flavoured with green cardamom and rose water. I am just addicted to this sweet. Who starts a review with desserts? Oops. I just did. This family run business does lunch buffet during weekdays. I dropped in on a Thursday lunch time, and it was busier than I had imagined. They serve chicken tikka, deep fried chicken, butter chicken, beef masala and a good variety of vegetable dishes like spinach, chicken peas, lentil soup, and of course naan bread, all mildly spiced to accommodate the local clientele. They also serve hot sauce, to bring the food at par with the traditional indian dishes. Good service and they take time to go over all the menu and to answer any of your questions. Of course, I have to finish off with the famous gulab Jamun. Sooo yummy good! Very well priced, and your wallet will thank you.
