I came in here with my husband yesterday while we were out and about near downtown for some other things. We walked in and we're promptly ignored. Not a single greeting, question, nothing. Ok, so customer service is lacking, despite there being no shortage of employees. Selection is okay. Nothing that really fits my style. But the prices were pretty decent for being a thrift store. It didn't feel like they marked used items close to new prices the way GoodWill does. So that's a plus. The store was clean, spacious, and organized. Would I return? Nope. There was nothing egregiously wrong with my experience here. But I was bored. There was nothing memorable about it, and nothing to bring me back. I just visit their new location on Willamette Street and I think it is such a better location for them. It's a bigger space so there is plenty of room to move around the racks and go through the items. They did a really good job at decorating the space. I love the different wallpapers used in the dressing area. The dressing rooms are bigger and I appreciate the flattering lighting. I also appreciate the friendly service. My size is not consistent across brands. I could be a medium in one and then an extra large in another. So I have to try on a large selection of options to see what exactly works. This was my first time shopping here, but I have brought clothing to sell to them. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and their knowledge of the process of dropping off merchandise for sale and in helping me with how to use the dressing rooms. I was able to find three new pairs of jeans, hardly worn, and at a good price. The store is attractive and vibrant, and there were many people shopping there. The racks were a bit close together for my personal taste, but it also meant more merchandise from which to choose. All in all a great experience! read more

Our first time in. My husband & I went in with 2 bags of clothes. I only took perfect items some never worn tho they were average brands to above & style, They did buy a few and I made $25-30. They bought a The north face jacket and a free people shirt so they want name brand for sure. I was very shocked they didn't like more because of how nice my clothes were but that up to who is looking at them. The girl who was helping the person in front of us in line was kind, engaging and really looking at the clothes and seemingly thinking about the item. So I felt confident about my experience to come. We walk up and she's was nice with her welcoming then seemingly all a sudden she's like I'm going on break so so-n-so will help you. We're like ok...our new helper wouldn't say much ,would pull things out of our bag only looked at the tag not the style no other look at the item, some times it was a literal fast glance and into the NO pile she would kinda look at the other teller girl like they were having a conversation we weren't included in, she was just looking around the store not paying attention to my clothes. It's one thing that.. yah don't except them, but could you look at them at least.? I felt like she didn't care I was there...because she wouldn't engage with us at all. She was quick with saying the total to the cashier so I was confused by what was actually happening bc she wasn't talking to us? I felt horrible when I left by how she treats us. Came in to shop last week and i was extremely disappointed. This new location is so small and every time i come in to shop everything is very unorganized, messy, and out of place. The selection and pricing is to be honest terrible, very curious what happened in the last few months to make this store go downhill so quickly. There are so many new exciting vintage and thrift stores in Eugene definitely skip this one next time you want some good finds- you will find NOTHING HERE and only be ignored or talked badly about by the snotty employees. My mom, my daughters, and I were hanging out in Eugene for the day. My oldest daughter wanted to go to the Nike store after Buffalo Exchange because she was looking for Jordan's. My daughter ended up finding Jordan's for $60 at Buffalo Exchange! Also $300 worth of goodies that would of been a lot more if we bought from a big box store. We chatted with a employee, I didn't get her name but she's from CA and we were talking about certain parts of CA that we miss. She talked to an older gentleman that I assumed was a regular. This is a fun location for a Buffalo Exchange! I spotted it from where I was having breakfast down the street and suggested it to a friend that had never been in a BE. We walked over after our meal and were greeted by friendly store associates upon arrival. There were several people already perusing the racks for a Saturday morning, and inventory was pretty well stocked. I imagine they stock up on product going into the holiday season. We didn't end up finding anything we needed that day but didn't feel pressured by the store associates, either. I will remember to drop by again the next time I'm in the area! read more

The prices vary and sometimes feel too much for what there worth but they're reliable in terms of cute clothes, everytime I go in I find something. While you're sitting there looking at other clothes you start to Notice all of the clothes that they have out in there are dirty and goodwill quality. Did a fun experiment where I went in without my hair dyed dressed in casual clothes without my hair dyed for a few months (look very young except when I don't dye my hair) and sent a college student friend of mine to go in with the same clothes. I bet you can guess what the outcome was....maybe. I was offered 1/4 of what she was offered for the same clothes. This place is a scam. Don't sell to them or buy from them. This was my first time at buffalo exchange and it was a very pleasant experience. I was able to sell my shoes for a fair price and buy some dress pants for work with the store credit. I was a little surprised they didn't take any of my clothes but I didn't mind as I just donated them afterwards. The staff was kind and explained the process well. When I checked out I had a remaining balance of credit and the cashier was kind enough to give it to me in coins, it was a small balance, so I could use it on parking meters. She also explained that instead of bags each person gets a coin to put towards a donation box of their choosing, and I loved that sentiment. I was in yesterday selling clothes, and it was the most unpleasant experience I've ever had. There were a two people in front of me with smaller bags and i was there 45min-1 hour. Why? Because the buyers wanted to to talk about the parties they went to over the weekend and guys that they met up with. It was disgusting. They hardly acknowledged any of us other than rudely saying hi. They were fully in their own conversation I almost got up and left. This is not the great feeling i used to feel walking into this store. I have been going to buffalo exchange for a very long time and it is one of my absolute fav places to shop because they have a lot of trendy clothes and crazy jewelry. I'm definitely the kind of person that likes to stand out but does not have to pay a TON of money to get that. Buffalo Exchange is the way to go. You can also sell there! I've been a few times to sell and they literally didn't buy anything from me, and it's not like I was trying to bring in a ton of beat-up clothes, but I guess for me it's more for just shopping. Buffalo Exchange Eugene... So many things can be said about this business. But I think I will start with: LEAST INCLUSIVE BUSINESS IN EUGENE. I have been going to this store since 2012 and I have always remained hopeful they will remedy their issues. Namely: not hiring plus size staff, and not treating plus size clothing the same respect and value as the (literal) hundreds of size two items they have littering their shelves. In 2019 I have been there 5 times and every.single.time I have to search high and low, and all through every rack. Forget clothes not being my style! I can't find my size! Then when bigger sizes are found, the clothing is flat out ugly. Yet another sign they aren't including plus size women in the conversation. The average size of American women is now 16 to 18, so why is that I can never find my size? Update: I had a somewhat helpful conversation with a manager. Bumped my review up one star. read more

All they took was an ugly square shaped jay crew dress and some toms. I'd been to a location in Portland so I thought I'd give this one a try and I'm happy with my experience. I think I prefer this location to the one in Portland, mostly because it seems like claustrophobic with big windows and high ceilings. The prices seem a little high but mostly because I've recently found really good deals with goodwill prices elsewhere. I think they're actually fairly reasonable. The staff was super friendly! A couple of them were being a little silly with the new merchandise, but I'd rather have that than soulless robots. Its not the most amazing concept in the world but for poor students who have an excess of clothes, it can be a money maker and a clothing saver all at the same time. Its a locally owned franchise, where folks can essentially trade in their second hand clothes for in store credit or for straight up cash. The sales associates / managers essentially make the call on if your clothing item is in season and whether or not it fits the bill for anything worthy of cash value. Often times one will see lines of people with boxes and boxes of stuff that is better off given to Value Village and Goodwill for free. Speaking of charity organizations, Goodwill style clothing this place is not. They only accept the most fashionably usable items society may deem worthy of payment. Beware however, as some of the items are near retail pricing. I'm sure the barely worn pair of shoes, is not worth purchasing even if its only $5-10 off from normal pricing. For that amount, I would suggest one go with something brand new, instead of something second hand new. Bring plenty of clothes worthy of the season and make sure its valuable not to deem charitable. read more

I always leave extremely frustrated and angry. I don't understand their logic when it comes to buying clothes. Plus they don't explain why they are not purchasing things, unless they tell you its too worn. But really they are looking for luxury brands, and then fast fashion brands like H&M. The amount of times I browse and find a BoY London shirt (EXample) thats extremely worn, when they wouldn't take a worn once great condition banana republic polo from me... Some of the workers barley look through your items they just pour them out on the table and fling them back into a bag. Unless its a name brand they know. Plus they resell worn fast fashion items for the same price as the retailers.. I rarely find clothes I want in there. The men's section is gross and littered with musty way too worn tshirts. Its been hitting 90 and they barely had any shorts. I think they really underestimate the fact that they are handling people's clothing, which usually is ver personal for people, and they don't do a great job at being aware of that. If you want to sell clothes here. Wash and iron them, then make sure they are perfect. Oh they also have to be fast fashion, or high end. read more

This is the best buffalo exchange that I've been to. Anytime that I am in Oregon (I'm from CA), this is a must visit. I always find something I want and prices vary from 10-20 typically. I've gotten a North Face jacket here, they carry Patagonia, Michael Kors, Madewell, etc etc. There are always great finds here. read more

Bring in a bunch of apparel in a garbage bag to trade in; leave with a giant garbage bag full of your clothes, embarrassed that according to Buffalo's standards you have no fashion sense. Then bring those same clothes back six months later and trade them all in! Suckas! Conclusion: The Eugene hipster staff is semi cute, polite, and generally into their jobs. When I'd like to refresh a portion of my wardrobe for a reasonable price, I block out two hours of my day and head to Buffalo Exchange. I have to dig through pretty much every single rack, but I do end up finding more than enough stuff to try on... though other reviewers apparently disagree, I think there's a good variety of items that could fit a variety of styles. I've lived in Eugene for 4 years and have been going to the store sporadically the entire time. The employees are so-so in customer service, no one has ever been super friendly or outgoing, and sometimes the dressing room station is completely unmanned and a line of shoppers will just stand there, waiting. And, yes, the pricing is a bit weird. I was checking out bags and a Mossimo (Target) brand one was going for something like $20... really?? Ended up finding a different one for $12. Also, I've sold there a couple times - I've been that jerk who dragged 3 garbage bags to a buyer and taken up an hour, and experienced that particular brand of "2 uncool" rejection so unique to Buffalo - and the buyers will inevitably tell me that items I have literally NEVER worn, that just sat neglected in my closet for a year after a regretful purchase, have "too much wear." That's some BS. Even items I bought there in the past don't make the cut. Yet, I'll be looking through the store and find things that are clearly missing buttons or sequins/other embellishments, or that have holes... or, worse, I won't find out about these things until I get home. The shoe shelves are probably the most blatant slap in the face, because many of the shoes CLEARLY have wear, like a noticeable amount of dirt or scuffs. Yet one thread sticks out in a shirt I bring in and they're too good for that. And once, the manager came by and told my buyer that she needed to un-purchase some things she'd agreed to purchase from me. Seems like bad business to call out your employees like that, and to go back on your word to the customer. But, the whole reason I'm writing this review is because of the jewelry. A couple times I've bought some pieces, only to go home and have it break or already be broken. One time, a necklace's clasp was pretty obviously no longer attached to the necklace, and just clipped onto another part of it. Another time, I went to wrap a bracelet around my wrist and clasp it, when the clasp (along with a bunch of dangly accessory things that were attached to the same loop as the clasp) fell off completely. What?? Why wouldn't anyone have caught this? There is certainly some discrepancy between the uber selective aura of the ladies at the buyers' table and what is actually sold in the store. Been going here for years, some days I come in and I can't find a darn thing, but for the most part I have had great shopping experiences here. I have found some pretty unique items at times like my blouse that has elephants on it. Every time I wear it I get asked where it is from. During the summer I have found many adorable summer dresses with some cute necklaces to go with them. For spring I have found cute name brand Capri pants as well as name brand jeans. But my most prized purchases I would have to say would be my cheap name brand purses, Harley boots, frye boots, Ugg boots, Oakly sun glasses, and a very nice pair of Harley Davidson leather chaps! They were cheap here where they would be a small fortune at the HD store!! I have been wanting a pair of these so bad, and I was thinking I was going to have to get an off brand because of how expensive they are. I was so happy to have found the Harley brand here.
