Lots of flies which seems like par for Deadwood. The BLT was pathetic and the service was pretty much the same when they did show up.

Casino - 3 star: Casino wasn't bad, friendly waiter and a few slot machines. Restaurant - 1 star: long wait for no reason, and when we finally got called, our table was taken right in front of us. So this is the restaurant portion inside the saloon. Unfortunately there aren't many reviews for this place. My family went on a Wednesday night right before close at about 8:30pm. There were maybe 2 or 3 other parties eating. We were sitted right away and brought waters. Our waitress was efficient, not super friendly but good at her job. We didn't get any appetizers or dessert. Our food was good and brought out in a good amount of time. My husband got the steak tips. He said they were good and it was a large portion. My mother got the Western burger with fries. She also didn't have any complaints about the food. I got the mushroom burger. It was delicious and hot. The fries were good too. I provide ratings of my experience to help travelers & seldom need to provide bad ones. This review isn't rating the food as much as it is about the Greeter/Seater, Alex. This guy is better off working by himself somewhere not related to hospitality. Upon our arrival he took our names, gave us a pager, said our wait time is 30 - 40 minutes, and he would activate the pager when our table was ready. An hour later my friend noticed others waiting after us being called for seating. She went to Alex and saw approximately 10 other names seated after ours on the list. He said we didn't respond to our pager, which never went off and he proceeded to seat others. When told he never activated our pager he's said "you can leave". Three times he told her to leave before Pierce, Manager overheard and seated us. Said he would talk to Alex as he was aware our pager was never activated. Again cheesy and just silly fun for the family. Has a local cowboy single no country, food was decent and price wasn't bad. It is more of an atmosphere type of place. read more

My family had lunch here at 2pm on Saturday, June 21st, there was 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 children. It was a beautiful day, the guitarist was very talented, but there were maybe 10 -12 tables filled at this hour. After waiting a 45 minutes for our food we asked the waitress when we could expect our food, we were told the chef (which we found out later was also the General Manager) stated "we would get it when we get it". Ultimately, we waited over an HOUR for our food and after tracking down the manager was given a 10% discount off of the food. The food was OK - typical bar food. No exceptional food or talent in the kitchen. When I asked to speak with the general manager, the manager threatened to call the cops on me. I calmly spoke to the GM explaining the situation and only asked him to consider his customer and our long wait. He got very confrontational (to the point I had to step back and asked him to calm down), he claimed he didn't care about his customers or the service they receive and walked away. I would strongly encourage you to stay away from this establishment. They clearly do not care about their customers, the food is average at best. Please support the other wonderful establishments in Deadwood, that pride themselves on making a family vacation memorable. read more

Don't waste your time! Service was sub-par at best. It took 20+ minutes to get beers. I ordered the chicken strips, which came out completely raw (same thing happened at an adjacent table). The one positive I can say is that the pot roast was good - the waitresses suggestion when I said I no longer wanted chicken. We stopped in during the middle of the week and were seated soon as the place was mostly empty. My party of 5 sat on the inside stage which was kinda cool. The live music was good. The kids reported that buffalo burger was ok but not great. The wrap sandwhich was above average and the homemade chicken strips were excellent along with good reviews about the fries. My girl and I each had the chicken dinner and were surprised with the 2 large breasts it came with. They were cooked perfect with a nice sear on the outside keeping the moisture inside. We both loved it. I had to take a star off because of the service. The hostess and the others at the stand seemed to not care about anything and we felt they didn't want our business and seemed upset that we were there at all. One of the kids went to get change from the hostess stand to put in the crane game in the corner and his remark back to me was "wow, that lady gave me a strange look and seemed to be mad." When I asked him how it went. Our server only checked once for drink refills and left the empty salad containers on the table throughout the meal. Just lazy service. read more

Horrible experience at this casino! I was treated extremely rudely by "Ken" the bar tender. I ordered a drink and I gave him a $50 and I realized after I walked away that he didn't give me the correct change, $8 less than what I was owed as he didn't count back my change. I turned around and let him know, his reaction was shocking, he said, "don't accuse me of shorting you, I said I'm not, I'm just letting you know I am owed 8 more dollars, then he said, you need to get the hell out of here! I said, excuse me, no you owe me $8, you're out of line here. He kept yelling at me and appeared very threatening and came around the bar at me and that startled me and I turned around quickly and lost my balance and my drink spilled and he followed me out the door as he made me leave. I should've called the authorities, but I hate confrontation, there was no reasoning with this very rude employee so I left in tears. I will never ever go back there. I don't recommend this casino at all especially if you're by yourself! read more

Good food and quick service. I was a bit worried when the meal started with a watery salad. But our $17.99 sirloins were cooked to our specifications and very tender. My baked potato came without butter as I had asked. The garlic bread was a good touch. read more
