Wyoming Veterans Memorial Park is incredible…read more Located off Hwy 14 on the corner of 26th St, this park has memorials to Wyoming military from both World War I and II, and from the Korean, Vietnam and Operation Enduring Freedom wars. There's even a recently added K9 memorial -- one of only about four in the US. It is unlike any other Veterans Park in the scope of its displays. Each war has its own memorial and some monument specific to that conflict or to that branch of the military. There are engraved stones, benches, monuments and a nice walking path taking you from one to the other. It is not a quick-visit park and having the separate memorials almost implores you to take time to read through the information and appreciate the magnitude of what each represents. The different sections are far enough apart to give time to reflect and that's not a bad thing. To say it is an impressive park, is a gross understatement. It's more than that. We had spent the day in Yellowstone, and we were headed to Cody for our hotel. I had read about the…read moredam online and wanted to make a stop. When you pull into the parking lot, they have a volunteer that picks you up in a golf cart to shuttle you to the front door. The day that we were there, a storm was moving in, and the winds were gusting something fierce! We really appreciated the ride to the center. Once inside, there is a very informative video that you can watch that explains all the trials and tribulations that they went through to build this dam. It's a very incredible story and worth the watch. You can then walk out on the top of the dam and look over both sides. As I said, the day we were there, it was super windy, so we were half afraid we were going to be blown over the top! But it was a very cool stop, and I'm glad we did it. Definitely make the stop if you're in the area!

When we pulled up it looked really small, but when we got up to it, we saw that it was much bigger. Overall it was a great experience. At Old Trail Town, you will find artifacts from the Old West as well as grave sites of several notable Western figures. You will also find original cabins used by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid as well as a Wyoming saloon frequented by Cassidy's "Hole-in-the-Wall Gang". Some of my favorites were the log cabin home of "Curley" a Crow Indian army scout who helped guide Lt Col. George A. Custer and the U.S. 7th Cavalry to the battle of the Little Big Horn in 1876, and the old schoolhouse.

This visit was the end on June, 52° at 2pm at the summit, & 91° at our startup. It was breezy and traffic was lighter than usual. Cloudy skies made for more interesting pics & I do wish we'd had more time to spend playing with the cameras today. We may make a trip out next week for that, or perhaps wait out fall... gotta be careful tho, snow closes the pass unpredictably!

The week we were in town, every day was in the mid 90s temperature wise. Beartooth has a significant change in elevation, so as you drive, the temperature continues to drop. When we hit the Summit, it was actually quite chilly! This drive is amazing - there is something new to see around every bend! You can definitely see why they close it during the winter, as it can be very nerve-racking at times, but it was worth every minute of the drive. Absolutely make sure you do it at least once in your lifetime!

They sell maps to help you get around, and the staff is ready to answer questions about any of the merch. They've got a hiking shoe selection that's hard to beat, and lots of the coolest latest gadgets that'll help you get over the river and through the woods. There's a second story to this place, I don't think there's an elevator available. One of my favorite things about this store are the displays- in the window and on the sales floor, they have little camping scenes set up, where they're highlighting their gear or clothing. This is a great outfitters to get outfitted in before going on that grand journey through the Great Outdoors.

The visitor center has a relief map of Bighorn Canyon and the surrounding areas which is cool to look at. There's also some geological, historical and photo exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the area. There's even a sign about "What's that smell?" in the area, which I definitely had wondered about driving through the town. The smell in question was the sugar beet processing! I had seen trucks of what I now know are sugar beets and the kind of sweet, earthy aroma in the air. We hiked the Sullivan's Knob Trail which was a quick easy hike, while the Upper Layout Creek Trail was tough! You can technically drive a bit on the dirt road for the latter, but you definitely need a high clearance vehicle because there are deep ruts. We also saw some of the wild Pryor Mountain Wild Horses on the side of the rod while driving, so drive slowly!

We booked Monster Lake Ranch for my daughter's wedding. Despite having over four months notice they…read moreweren't ready for us. We weren't able to set up for the wedding until a few hours before and that was because they didn't have anything ready. We had to clean the place before setting up because nothing had been cleaned. They had my deposit for over four months and I paid the entire balance 30 days before the wedding and yet they still did NOT have the place ready even though I was assured it would be. Because we had to do all of the cleaning and then the setting up I missed out on being present while my daughter got ready. I didn't get to help her into her dress. I didn't get to make memories or take pictures. I was robbed out of many things that day. Also, family stayed on the property and paid full price despite dirty rooms that were t even ready to be checked into until late evening and no hot water the next day. The website promises available breakfast and yet there was no breakfast and the restaurant was closed. They were told it was seasonal; the website says NOTHING about being seasonal. For the first 3 months after booking the ranch for the wedding, I could NOT get anyone to communicate with me. Many emails went unanswered as well as voicemails. When the one and I guess only staff member did finally communicate with me it was to tell me that an entire crew was getting the event center ready. Well that turned out to be one of many lies to come!!!! Nothing was ever done to get the place ready until we did it ourselves, the day of the wedding!!!! Also, we booked the "event center " sight unseen and was promised pictures on many occasions. Never once got any pictures. Then when we finally get there and are taken to the "event center," it turns out to be a huge garage, with no heat or running water. The bathroom facilities were several yards away and if turns out they were dirty and didn't have any towels to wipe hands on. We were out and out lied to many times and I will NEVER recommend this place, at least not with the current staff!!!!!!!

The Ranch looked absolutely amazing and we were thrilled when we arrived only to be turned away at…read morethe door. Their policy stated a no pet policy; however, our animals were licensed service animals. We did call before hand and left several voice-mails to verify that the ranch excepted service animals but never got a call back. The ADA policy about accommodating service animals for indviduals with disability, we felt confident without any confirmation from the ranch that they would honor our reservation. Upon arrival we didn't even get a hello, but an aggressive "Nope! I seen you have dogs and we don't allow pets!" I response was that we have service animals and I even have handicap plates as I'm a Disabled Veteran and traveling with my parents, my mother suffers from panic attacks and she holds on to her dog for comfort. After leaving a review and looking into our refund since we were turned away. They didnt refund our money and they responsed that we were trying to hide the dogs because my mom had her service dog wrapped in a jacket, because it was literally snowing. Only good thing I can say is they helped send us to Yellowstone Valley Inn that actually abides by the ADA and I suggest everyone stop at Yellowstone Valley Inn it was more welcoming and understanding.
