I calmly asked, "Can you wipe the table down?" Her response: "It is." I replied, "It is not there are spots on the table." She then pointed at the table and said, "These are imperfections." I know the difference between imperfections in a surface and spots that can be wiped clean. The table clearly had residue on it. Rather than simply wiping it down, she chose to argue. At that point, I told my husband, "Let's just leave." The entire interaction felt dismissive, defensive, and rude. When I asked to speak to a manager, she claimed she was the manager. I let her know directly that her tone and behavior were inappropriate, and we left. Customer service is about making guests feel welcome. This felt the exact opposite.
