Signed up for $214 for mouse trap placement. Guy came out beginning of July, was not friendly, but set up traps. Said he would be back to check. Never called or reached out except for today when they called wanted to charge another $75 to come back to check the traps. Said the additional price was because the "warranty" was only for 30 days. Sorry Michelle, but until you've dealt with the intermittent scritching of rats over where you sleep, not 10 feet from where the person you hired did something (useless), you can't understand the frustration that I'm feeling here at 2:15 AM (as I write the review after hearing that noise). It's been constant, every 3 or 4 days. Your "professional" was extremely unhelpful. I don't trust your company. So unless your going to give a refund so that I can get someone who is actually willing to do something that will help.... All your guy did was come out and look at the bait traps and say, "nope they haven't taken the bait yet" and move on to the next house without any helpful suggestions about next steps for us. I had previously written a less than nice review about Budget Pest Control, but now I must reveal my complete change of opinion. I had a large swarm of yellow jackets harvesting my holly bush that is located between my front door and garage door. I could not use the front door as I was extremely concerned that the yellow jackets would attack me and my dogs! The yellow jackets were there at the holly for weeks with no sign of ever wanting to leave! I tried calling various "Bee Guys" , to no avail! One Bee guy told me to "just deal with it" since I could not determine where the nest was! Called Budget Pest, Eric came out same day, eradicated the yellow jackets! Thank goodness for Budget Pest Control! BTW- Eric said there were at least 150 yellow jackets in the holly right beside my front door. read more

Budget Pest Control has been servicing our house bi-monthly now for almost 3 years. They're always on time, professional, and have great Covid-19 protocol-- the techs always have their masks on. They always take the time to thoroughly answer and questions I have, their pricing is very affordable, and most importantly their product works... we've significantly seen a reduction in creepy crawlers at our house and we live in a semi-wooded area. I had a problem with raccoons in my house and they did a good job catching two raccoons and then told me to wait to seal opening in house after making sure there weren't more. I had another problem and they were extremely rude and told me I would have to pay another initial fee- although I had called every day they told me I didn't and I would not recommend as their communication is poor and have poor customer service. I am surprised at the bad reviews for this business so I decided to write another! These guys were hired by the guy who owns the house next door to mine in E. McKeesport; the tiny yellow jackets(small but FIERCE!)were on his property but directly across from my backdoor. I got badly stung after pulling a weed & out they came in full force! Mad as...well...hornets! They were relentless in chasing me & stinging me, they followed me all the way thru my house, out the front door & into the neighbor's house, stinging all the while, hundreds of them! She heard me & then when she saw all the little nasty bees all over me & flying around & in my hair etc....she screamed & ran into her bathroom slamming the door shut! LOL! She came back out with a wet towel & managed to swat the bees off. It was awful & I was in pain for 2 weeks! I tried calling other places, using sprays, killed thousands but they just kept coming out of that nest & would cover my lights at night by the thousands! Finally the landlord of neighbor called Budget, & the bees are history! They came out right away, the guy in full bee suit dug that huge nest up, I believe MILLIONS of them came out of that nest! Even he was shocked at the size if it & the plethora of QUEENS! He got rid of every speck. He surveyed both whole yards for more but he found none. He was professional, informative, knowledgeable & friendly. I was very impressed & I would never use any other company! read more

I've been with budget pest for 6 years and always pay my bill. I'm extremely busy and don't pay attention to due dates, I just sit down when I can and send in all my bills. But god forbid I sent in their lousy $90 bill a week late, they suspend my account and harass me non stop. They are so irritating that it makes me not want to pay the bill on time! I'm switching companies because a courtesy call about my bill would go a lot further than treating me like a criminal. And their actual service is so so. read more

While the tech was friendly enough, his casual approach to the bed bug issue in my home did not instill enough confidence in me to want to have him or anyone else from Budget Pest Control EVER come back - for $99 I can buy two little bottles of crossfire myself and thoroughly treat my home in 2 weeks or tomorrow for that matter, which I probably will!. It's unfortunate that while I expressed that the issue in my home has been ongoing since March/April (and I moved in June), the technician did not only NOT conduct a "thorough" investigation (unless you include a couple seconds cursory flashing of a flashlight at one corner of my daughter's bed frame thorough) of my home, but summarily dismissed me when I reiterated that I felt it would be prudent to treat not only the perimeters of every room (which I moved all the furniture from as well as vacuumed per the instructions in the prep sheet) but EVERYWHERE HE COULD ACTUALLY SPRAY WHATEVER AMOUNT OF CROSSFIRE HE HAD AVAILABLE. His communication was not exact on whether he would do so (he seemed pretty set on doing whatever he deemed appropriate in his 6 years of experience) since I had to leave to go to work but yeah, not impressed, at all, for $426 and will not, absolutely, be paying any more for what I found today to be sub-par service for the price. read more

Had Budget come out to spray for yellow jackets and flies. I think they got more on the windows than anywhere else. Second story windows that can't be cleaned from the inside, will now have to hire a window cleaner to clean up the mess Budget made. The manager said too bad, he did the best he could and it would cost more if they used a ladder and were cautious. Terrible company! read more

We reported rodents to Budget Pest Control on 8/25. They came and literally threw packets down and left. No results. We had to call another service -- Witt Pest Management. Witt came and set traps. Set baits. Assessed entry points and blocked them with steel wool in entry points. Witt did everything BUDGET was supposed to do for the SAME PRICE. Basically, we had to hire Witt to come do the job right. Witt offered incredible service and support and a follow-up visit just to check on their traps (which were full!). Budget was a WASTE OF TIME. I requested a refund because they literally wasted my time and money. If you need a bird's nest removed -- Call Budget. If you need help with rodents, call Witt!! Dan Martin, Budget's manager is incredibly insulting, rude and aggressive. Rather than acknowledging that my project details made it clear that I needed "Animal trapping and removal, Sealing of entry/exit points, Feces removal and cleanup" -- he chose to yell at me and gaslight me and tell me that Witt nor I know anything about rodent removal. He did not deliver on the engagement requested but charged me for services I did not want and refused to refund me for their failures. read more

We were moved into a house and got bedbugs from the moving truck. My husband and I were told we would get two treatments and the second was just to be extra sure the bed bugs were gone. We had to bag up every article of clothing/bedding/pillows, take every thing off the walls. I was so disgusted with the bugs that I cleaned everything, and we lived out of bags for a month to make sure we didn't mess anything up. The tech said we had a low infestation and did everything right. Now tell me why after the second treatment, of course just after the warrant ends we are STILL GETTING BIT. When we confronted the company they said they would do us a favor and give us a THIRD treatment for $100. I am so disappointed with this process. I do not like to put blame on others, but I do not think we should have to pay and do extra work when we paid $600 dollars for this treatment and followed all instructions. We can't sleep and wake up disturbingly itchy. You can't leave your bed or they will infest other parts of the house. I did not expect to be struggling with this for almost 2 months now. read more

My husband and I contracted with Budget Pest Control of Pittsburgh for a problem with moles in our yard/landscaping. The cost for a one-month plan was $500 plus tax with an additional $100 for each additional month. The first serviceman installed 4 mole traps in our yard. No moles were trapped; however, we subsequently observed activity in our mulch bed. The traps were then placed in the mulch bed by the same technician. Still no luck in catching the mole(s). More activity was observed now in the mulch bed, but the new technician explained that the traps do not work in mulch so he was inserting the Talpirid mole bait worms (by just poking his finger in the ground in a supposed tunnel and dropping the bait and covering it up). Today was our last visit under our one-month agreement. I will say that Budget Pest Control does respond to calls, especially Dan. However, on the other hand, I feel that their price was extremely high and their guarantee is weak, and they will indicate that it usually takes a couple of weeks for the worms to work or that the mole has moved. If anyone out there is having a similar problem with moles in their yard, I would shop around for another pest control company at a more economical price with hopefully better results. I will not recommend Budget Pest Control to our homeowner's association as a possible contractor for mole eradication. We will install the Talpirid worms ourselves, as our neighbor just told us that they had a mole problem a couple of years ago, and they inserted the worms and the situation was resolved. Bottom line, shop around for other companies who indicate that they handle this problem! read more

Worst service ever--charged $535.00 for one week of service and Alex would not even speak to me until I paid him--You do not know if they checked the monitors during the week and you can't call them for updates. After speaking to Dan, a manager, he sent out another service tech, Barry--It was funny that Alex said I had moles and Barry said I had voles--Barry just wanted out and started saying a chipmunk hole was a mole hole--Doesn't sound like they know much--Dan supports his workers and, like his techs, he got his money and doesn't want to hear anything else. read more

Had a bat problem in ridge vents 20 bats to be exact.Called budget they were quick to respond and exclude.i have way more knowledge of bats then I care for but everything was explained in detail to me and price was clear for service.Can not say enough good things about Barry and Sherri thank you for everything!Screen over the vents are not the best looking but can't say that bothers me as long as bats can not get it. read more

I heard a mouse scratching in my wall on a Sunday. I was so happy they have someone answering the phone on weekends. I was able to call and get an appointment for Tuesday to have a technician come to bait. They explained baiting was better than using traps as the mice take the bait back to the nest and they all die. Aaron called prior to arrival to let me know he was on the way and answered my many questions patiently. He inspected the basement and garage and even though there was no sign of recent activity he still baited there, put two outdoor bait stations out and baited the attic as well as he saw signs of mouse droppings. They give a 60 day warranty and ask we wait 2 weeks for the baits to do the job. If I see or hear any activity after than I can call and they will come back at no additional charge to rebait. I inquired about needing possible ongoing service since when cold weather comes I know the little critters want to come in to get warm. I was told about their program where they can come out every 60 days to check and rebait as needed and I could opt out at any time. There was no hard sell- I asked about it. Their prices are very reasonable and for the peace of mind I'll have knowing the house is mouse free it's worth every penny! read more

We discovered bed bugs in the house very soon after discovering how they got there. Hoping we caught them early we were eager to use this company to get things taken care of. I had heard other companies request removing photos from the walls, taking down curtains etc. But this company did not request that. We were told ahead of time the treatments would be two weeks apart and that we would have to leave the house for 4 hours. The first treatment included turning the living room furniture over and spraying the undersides. The sofa seemed to show the most activity. We were also told it would take about 4 hours to dry and we could return to the house then. Two weeks later, my elderly mother was at the house alone when the tech arrived. She made arrangements for someone to pick her up and take her away from the house for the four hour period. Much to our surprise the tech told her she didn't have to leave after this treatment which surprised and confused us. Additionally, he appeared to not have been as thorough because none of the furniture was turned over to be sprayed. We hoped for the best that things were taken care of. Sadly, two months later, the sofa is once more infested with bed bugs to the point that keeping it in the house seemed futile and it was removed. Budget was called back and they only offered a discounted price to have the home treated again. This time a different tech arrived and he said he would treat the house as if it was the first treatment and be very thorough. He actually sprayed behind curtains, pictures on the wall and other areas the first tech absolutely did not spray. So now we are left wondering just how thorough the first tech was and if our money, and sofa, were just thrown out because of his poor service. While voicing all of these concerns over the phone to who ever answered I felt as though I wasn't being believed when I told the lady that the first tech told my mother she didn't have to leave during the second treatment and she also made excuses for the fact that the second treatment is just a spot treatment...yet he didn't even treat the one spot that was the worst...the sofa! I expected more and never do yelp reviews. Left feeling totally unsatisfied and heart broken that a perfectly fine sofa which matched all of the other furniture my mother loved and recently acquired is the prompting to post this review.
