Moved from Berlin MD to PGH in October 2022 & cannot get a receipt from Maria. My bed was out together backwards. She would not reply to the BBB and is not a Chamber of Commerce member. I like supporting local businesses but this company was a complete nightmare. The owner Maria was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. They charged me more money than what was given in the initial quote. I assume this is why they also refuse to put anything in writing- they don't want to be held accountable for what is verbally discussed and agreed upon. I could have pushed the issue but did not want to deal with Maria any longer than I needed to because she was so unpleasant. I had used this company based on a friend's Facebook review and when I reached out to my friend to discuss my experience versus my friend's review, my friend stated that they actually needed to update their review as Budget Movers had broken several of their items during their move and refused to take responsibility. I will say that the moving guys were very nice and easy to work with, but the condescending nature of Maria was completely unprofessional, especially considering I was nothing but polite to her. Hopefully this review helps others avoid this company so you avoid dealing with the same headache and rudeness that I did. There are plenty of professional local businesses out there who actually know how to treat their customers and how to practice basic politeness and respect. read more

Maria was rude and unprofessional. My husband has never disrespected a woman and kept quiet. There was a miscommunication on both parts. We will not use Maria again. Her employees were apologetic for her rude behavior. A company that would refer their clients to her heard her on speaker phone and they were appalled as well. They said they will no longer send their clients to her. The proof of her behavior can be heard on voicemail she left my husband. To add insult to injury she charged us an astronomical amount of money (2500.00) to move a one level 3 bed. basic furniture home 10 minutes down the road to a 10 x 20 storage unit because she was in a position of power so to speak and having a tantrum. I used this company back in 2017 for a 2 mile move in the Selbyville area for 3 bedroom sets, two living room sets and one dining room set. They came at very short notice and I was very pleased with their service. I'm now moving from Selbyville to Bridgeville and called them this past Sunday (open every day) and received a call back Monday. I was requested to give an extremely detailed description of both locations and a complete list of everything being moved. I was told to pack items in large size boxes. I already have a lot packed in small size boxes so I can pick them up. I responded back on Tuesday with Maria's long list of descriptions and have not heard back yet. Sent her a reminder today; no response. Looking at their rating here, I can see why. Just called a higher rated company for an estimate and they will be here Sunday. read more

I hate to do this to anyone, but....called this company in mid Jan. Owner comes out to do a walk-thru to provide an estimate for a long distance move. On no less than 5 occasions I was told the "estimate is being worked today," and yet here we are in March with no estimate. Can't say I would let this company do my move now even if they came with an estimate. Not looking for much more than reliability and honesty. read more

I contacted these people to move a Piano for me. They asked for pictures of the front of my house, hallway and room where it would be located. I sent them what they asked for and asked them to get back to me with an estimate. Never heard from them again! I highly recommend Budget Movers. They were on time, efficient, courteous, and extremely helpful. My father-in-laws home needed to be emptied for sale. They loaded the items we were donating in one truck, loaded another truck with items for the dump, and placed the items we wanted to keep in an area on the main level. I moved my house within Salisbury area more than a year ago. Their worker ended up breaking the front door while moving the bed out. When I called OC moving owner, he initially tried to deny it till he spoke to his worker over the phone in front of us who admitted it. Thus he promised to get his coworker who is a "carpenter" to fix it the very next day, but he begged to be paid so his workers got compensation before they leave for the weekend, so I believed him and paid the full amount... Next day I called and he said the "carpenter" will be in sometime later. Basically he kept postponing for ten days before he started ignoring my calls and texts, and his wife answered the phone once for him and the moment she heard they heard my voice they hanged up... I ended up paying four hundred dollars to fix that door, because this guy lied to me and stole my money... read more

I had the unfortunate experience of having furniture delivered to my condo in Ocean City - the furniture was too large to fit in the hallway of my condo building. The local furniture company rescheduled the delivery after I was able to locate Ocean City Budget Movers to hoist the sofas up into my condo through the balcony (3rd floor). As soon as I called I talked directly with Rich who was very helpful and said he would be at my condo when the furniture would be redelivered. The day of scheduled delivery it rained. Rich sent his staff to my condo to load my furniture in his truck and stored it for several days until the weather cleared and they were able to move the sofas in through the balcony. OC Budget movers were a life saver for me. I would highly recommend OC budget movers. Someone always answered the phone whenever I called. They did exactly what they said they would do.
