I forget his name I believe it started with a V, but he was bent over backwards to help me with making accommodations earlier than their check-in time. very nice and I will be going back this week. I booked this hotel as it had at the time of writing a 4-star rating here on Yelp. When I walked into my room, I said aloud "Oh God!", then I sat on the bed, another "Oh God!" came out of my mouth. As I looked around, I thought I had made a big mistake... old, outdated carpet, bathroom with nasty grout, dirt in every corner where it's hard to clean, the bathtub was blue and had a chip out of it showing its age. Basically on first impressions, I thought I was staying somewhere very nasty. As I settled in however, I quickly realized I was actually in a not bad motel. It was quiet my entire 3-day stay. You can hear your neighbors TV's and bathroom fans when in use, but that didn't bother me in the slightest as it wasn't busy and I think I only had a neighbor for one of the nights. I love that you can park your car right outside of your room and have instant access to it. And as for the bed... much to my surprise, I got the best few nights sleep I've had in a long time. The mattress felt firm and didn't have much "give," but actually, that was just what I needed. The pillows were beyond soft and I wish I owned those pillows in my own home. The Internet was half-decent but did slow to crawling speed on occasion (maybe the full-timers on the other side of the motel were sucking up all the juice?) Overall, there is nothing here to "wow" you and knock your socks off, so to speak. But, it is a very comfortable motel, very low noise, okay bath/shower, working Internet and you feel safe knowing your car is parked just 3 steps from your door. I give it 4-stars! read more

For the price and only staying one night it wasn't that bad. 2 Adults, two dogs came to 68.00. Our room was 125 and had a small patio/mud room/ storage room for the hotel..... IDK, what you would call it, but is was nice because it did give the dogs more room to walk around. Im a very lite sleeper and could here every time someone flushed their toilets. There is two sides to the hotel one for guests and the other side looked like monthly rentals. (I would stay away from walking on that side) The owner was very nice and you could see that they are working on improving the hotel, but I am going to have to try another place if I am in Yreka. read more

Stayed August 13, 2019 and was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. The room was clean and the bed comfortable for an overnight stay. Parking within feet of your door is an extra perk. This was my first stay at this motel and I'll definitely stay here again. read more

This place wasn't bad, but not great either. It is cheap however i found a motel 6 down the road (afterwards) that was cheaper! rooms were clean, nothing wrong there. i did not like the suspicious looks i was getting from the staff. The owners are foreign and very much give you a walking into a convenient store and being watched the whole time vibe. I'm a young guy and dress trendy so i was subjected to their uncomfortable glances. When it came time to check out the lady was waiting right outside the door! I will definitely not be staying here again. read more

This motel is clean and quiet. The room isn't large but it is well appointed and has everything most people will need. The soda machine is only .75 cents!! Air conditioner works well as does the television. The couple who own/run the motel are quite helpful and seem to be genuinely kind nice people. I must have gone into the office 6-7 times with various questions and always received an appropriate answer without attitude I asked for good local food and they recommended a nearby Mexican restaurant, Puerto Vallarta, which was in walking distance. I found the neighborhood safe and the food great. I will happily stay here again! read more

Hats off to the proprietors of this establishment. The moment my wife and I arrived I could tell this place was what we were seeking. This place is not the Ritz Carlton, but aside from the glitz and glitter of the Ritz it has all of the comforts. Nothing like what you would find with a cheap priced chain motel. This place is above all else, run by good people and kept up to mine and my wife's Picky Ass standards of basic needs in that; it must be clean and this place is impeccably kept, it must have clean linens and descent towels and all of the basic creature comforts. Believe me it does!! This place wreaks of class for a motel that most people traveling don't often see from the " we'll leave the light on" folks. If you should pass by this place, the light will be on and if it isn't, it's only because the owners are working their asses off to ensure that this well painted and clean environment is maintained. Coming from one who owns a business that is 5-Star rated on Yelp, please pass by this place and enjoy this motel, you won't regret it and help them like me realize their dream because they are working hard at it. The Budget Inn was a nice place to stay for a night in Yreka. We arrived very late and the check in was friendly and didn't seem to mind. We had some key issues but again the clerk was quick to help us get into our room. The bed was a little stiff, but the room itself was very nice. I stayed at this location for a few weeks while looking to relocate into Southern Oregon. It was such a nice place to stay, comfortable and relatively quiet being at the north end of town, but still minutes from historic downtown. It was a surprise when I opened the room door, was very nicely decorated, very clean, mini-fridge and microwave, a dresser with one side for storage, and a small table and chairs by the window. And yes, the motel is older, and does show it's age here and there, but they do work diligently to keep it very clean and fresh - like an older house with character. The decor was quite nice and updated, the bed firm but comfortable. A nice touch was adding lace curtains that you can pull across the window for a little privacy, yet still keep the curtains open. You park your car right in front of the door and it was so convenient. They were courteous and considerate, attending quickly to any needs I had. And they are protective of the property, dealing with any issues, whether maintenance or otherwise very quickly. It was a bit of home for me for awhile, and you can't say anything better than that. read more

We got to this place late and had to ring the bell two times before someone came to check us in. We were greeting by a grumpy man who then burped and said "what do you need?" he never smiled, he never excused his rudeness and could barely talk. really cheap hotel and only $7 to bring your dog! The staff was really friendly and the rooms were spotless, nice bedding and a good tv. The room also had a mini fridge, microwave, nice shower with good water pressure and coffee maker. We were defiantly pleasantly surprised considering the cost for the room. What a great value this was for an overnight stay while traveling. The front desk person was lovely, the room was exceptionally clean with carpet that looked new. It was quite and felt safe. I've stayed here more than once so I thought I should review it!! For about $50 a night (in 2016), I like it much better than the Double-tree on which I had to spend $200 a night. I should note that the things that give more stars to hotels (such as restaurants in the hotel or breakfast) don't interest me, so that influences my review . It is clean! Actually, the slight worn spots on places such as the bath tub prove it because it's more difficult to keep those clean than to wipe over a pristine surface. No smoke smell! The bed linens seemed good, the mattress didn't sag or seem otherwise unhappy, and the pillows were good (though, of course, everyone likes their own kind). There is wi-fi, a fridge, a microwave, a coffee pot (though I didn't use it), a small table and 2 chairs, a bath-plus-shower, good water pressure, a seemingly-powerful air conditioning you control in the room, and a flat screen tv (though I didn't use it). I think they cater well to the number and placement of plugs I'd like in a hotel (for re-charging my phone, using my laptop, etc). I don't know how to rate the Wi-fi, but it has worked well for my phone and laptop. The motel is a one-storey building with a parking space in front of each door. Opinions of the hosts' hospitality seem to vary in online reviews. They've always been kind and cheerful in my experience (and I've arrived at some pretty inconvenient hours). The motel is on the main road, but it is quiet. It seems no more or less soundproof than "better" hotels I've been in, though it lacks the booming doors of those "better" hotels and its small size means fewer people coming and going. You do hear people rushing out in the morning, as in other hotels. Accessibility: There is a room with a handicapped parking space and a ramp up to the door, though I have no idea of the facilities inside (in my room, getting around the bed and into the bathroom would be nearly impossible for sports wheel chair, let alone any kind of motorized vehicle). One reviewer talked about an attempt, which I agree is illegal, to charge her extra for her service dog. (There is a box on the intake form asking about whether you have a dog). The one thing I'd suggest is that the managers may not read that much English (I truly don't know), and so didn't seek out the laws; it may be a good idea to bring a copy or work out needs in advance. I'm not saying this is right (heaven knows people with handicaps don't need MORE hurdles--and certainly not ones already dealt with by law); I'm just saying that this might still be an appropriate place to stay IF the accommodations were better explained. The parking lot (in July 2016) is a lot smoother than that of other motels I passed. There isn't a conference room and I didn't see any printers in the tiny front office, so I would check in advance if you want to use this for business reasons.
