When we first got here, no water...they were performing maintenance. Only one bath towel. I'm handicapped and have a handicapped placard...but was told I couldn't park in a handicapped parking spot. The Good: the desk staff (managers/owners?) were very pleasant and accommodating. The Bad:This room, and I would guess most (all?) rooms need serious updating/maintenance. The bedroom was OK but the bathroom left us with serious doubts. The towel rack at the sink fell off the first time it was touched. How it stayed up when the towel was placed on it is anybody's guess. While the bathroom may have been clean, it did not give that appearance. No showers this stay. Maintenance and new fixtures needed. Someone else mentioned the blankets- what blankets? What served as a blanket was more like a heavy muslin sheet and not that heavy at that. If all you need is a place to sleep this place is probably the best priced place you'll find. We didn't need a heavy blanket but I think the Desk would have provided additional "blankets". The 2 stars is for the person who checked us in and another who checked us out. Stayed here when we were driving from SoCal to Portland. We thought that since we're just sleeping, it shouldn't be that bad. I'm telling you it is! The girl who checked us in was super helpful & friendly. We got in @ 1AM and left 9-ish. The area was dark and had that sketchy vibe. We were on the 2nd floor and there was a guy who left his door open while he was sleeping. When we woke up, it was still open. Nothing bad happened to him, thank goodness but it was just weird. Anyhoo, i left my prescription glasses and the first time i called, they said it wasn't there. I called again (after trying all the places we stayed in) and mentioned that it may have been under the pillow and they found it --- uhm, don't you change the sheets and pillow cases for new guests? So i was told to send a box for them to put my glasses in there with a label to get it back to me. I did and everytime i called to follow up; i never get any decent response. No one knows what's going on and frankly no one cares ---- again, you get what you paid for. If it was something unimportant, i wouldn't even bother but it is and they just don't care. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. Do not rent if traveling alone, especially as a woman. Single female traveling for work. Paid for 12 days to use it as a base between jobs. To come and go as I please for almost 2 weeks. Didn't mind that the first morning there were homeless camped outside when I went to my car. Didn't mind the clear sign of dirt on the walls and doors. Didn't mind that I counted 8 cats roaming the parking lot. The touch and go air conditioning was not even enough to make me close to needing to leave. I'd barely be there. In between days off I go to enter my room and there is a note on my door "Please go to front desk, thank you - management". I am very confused and go to the front desk. Mind you it's 9 pm and I am alone and creeped out, hoping they didn't pack my room up thinking I had abandoned the place. (I had forgotten my key so while I was confused I had to go to the front desk anyway.) I drive to the front and the front desk clerk tells me that there is an issue with my room and they need to move me. I ask why. She says she doesn't know, there's just an issue with my room. I now need to move rooms in the morning by checkout time. I ask if something is wrong because I don't want to sleep in a room if there are issues I need to worry about, she says she has no idea but that she went into my room to check if it is ok and there are no problems, it is safe. More confused, because if there's none, why am I needing to move on a day I was hoping to have off from work? She says that I'm not in trouble, but that note has been on my door for two days... ok? I prepaid. Repeating I'm not in trouble but that I need to move, she makes me a key and I walk back out to my car. As I'm sitting right in front of the window, I watch the front desk clerk send a text, and then an immediate phone call to someone. This is creepy to say the least. Again, I am alone and traveling. I return to my room and make my way inside, and nothing seems to have been touched. That includes the bed, the used towels, nothing. Now I had taken the trash out myself before I left, and I'm generally pretty clean, but it felt weird thinking the front desk went through my room, cleaning nothing (it is the 9th day of my 12 days and nothing had been cleaned once) including the bed not being made. Now I am freaked out to say the least. My room having some underlying problem, someone in my room, someone possibly being called to notify management of my arrival. Who knows, all just uncomfortable. I am typing this about 20 min after speaking with the front desk. I will update tomorrow after I speak with management, but this whole experience has been uncomfortable to say the least and I'm unsure if I'll be able to sleep comfortably. I have attached photos of the room/how I left it and how clean I am, to show there was no reason to move me, I also would like to say, aside from the bad paint and air conditioning, there's nothing wrong with the room itself. Would also like to add, that that there is no input on the tv remote, so you are stuck with basic cable, I brought my Google home to use, but couldn't. Worst experience! Pee smelled everywhere. One room I was first given had the pee smell inside, too. Perhaps the ventilator brought in. My dogs got so nervous due to it. Checked in yesterday. First room had dead flies all over the floor,dirty sheets,burn marks in the bedding and flies flying everywhere. We asked for another room,no better. Burn marks in bedding ,flies all over and it smelled horrible. We got a refund and went elsewhere. Do not reccomend this place. Only good thing was the young gentleman,Cody at the the front desk. The rooms get so hot and since they are a cheap motel they can't afford decent heating and AC so at a certain time the AC just turns hot and you have to shut it off. Showers are extremely small, and you can crack a window because there's no screen to prevent weirdos from reaching in. All three are fantastic human beings, mainly for listening to my long a__ stories - WHILE working hard at their respective jobs!! Very impressive! A bit sketchy clientele, but cheap and dog friendly for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! This is the third hotel I've stayed at in Yreka, since the huge fires, and it's by far the cheapest and best overall. The two other hotels: The Klamath Motor Lodge and Best Western Miner's, are way more luxurious, but significantly more expensive. And extremely poorly run. At the Klamath, the owner called the police on me, and put me on a Do Not Rent list when my dog spilled a cup of coffee on a bed pillow!!! Can you say OCD? At Miner's, they locked me out after my payment was "Pending" for some reason for two days. They immediately demanded cash payment, and refused to even look at my cellphone bank app, which showed my payment as pending!!! I demanded to get my things out of my room, and they refused unless I paid them a DOUBLE PAYMENT IN CASH!! I called the police and 6 very nice officers responded. They let me in my room without question. I am in the process of finding a lawyer to look into all this. Anyways, MOTEL 6 is HEAVEN by comparison to the total incompetence of the other two motels. We stayed there again on the trip home, and things got pretty sketch. Some guy, likely some variety of junkie, loitered outside our door at 2 AM, whistling. Finally he knocked and asked for Amanda. Later there was a shouting match between a woman and two men, putting us all on edge. True, the aforementioned incident was not the motel's fault, but the fact that they sent one of their housekeeping staff to tell us that we were not registered certainly was. We *were* registered. They themselves had chosen to put us in a different room, one with a microwave and fridge, and somehow neglected to record this. I was asked to call the front desk immediately to clear this up, and I believe my traveling companions, while passing the office, were confronted about the same issue. Ridiculous. After a 10 hour drive from Pasadena turned off I-5 and into the Motel 6 driveway. This is a classic style with two story walk up. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean with twin full size beds. Motel 6 chain is your basic just a bed and bathroom experience, there is no iron, hair dryer, in room coffee and no shampoo. I still do not understand why no shampoo it could not cost that much. There was one problem with the heating and air conditioner having a low hum that took several minutes to stop even when I switched it off. Around midnight some hick pulled up with his diesel truck and idled it at my front door. The motel is just off the freeway, there was no noise. Next to the property is a Black Bear Restaurant which I did not go to. The front desk gave me a recommendation to the Purple Plum for dinner and Poor George's for breakfast, both very good. If you just want a "good clean room" in Yreka this should be your choice read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here on our way up to Canada. We walked into the room and noticed that it was disgusting. Especially the sheets. They weren't just stained, there was fresh dirt on them. We were so tired we just fell asleep immediately. Big mistake. Woke up to find bed bugs. A picture of one of them is attached. A few bites emerged on each of our bodies over the next few days. We should have asked for a different room or left altogether when we noticed how gross it was. We were just so tired it didn't really set in until morning. First I have to say you get what you pay for. SO that said if all you need is relatively clean place to sleep and take a shower then Motel 6 is for you. I like Mo-6 because of their prices and locations. This one was no exception. This was my first time staying at this location. Most all Mo-6's have been upgraded and this one has too. The only thing I have a gripe about is that they have no rooms with bathtubs...no microwave or fridge either. No tubs so if you are handicapped and a need a tub you can forget that here. The shower was very tiny and you can barely turn around in it lol! But hey at least you can get clean for the next stint of your travel. The room was pretty clean (you are in a hotel not at home so you can't expect it to be spotless) I always travel with my own bed sheets and towels anyway and yes even at 5 star hotels. That's just a quirk I have I feel cleaner and safer on my own sheets. Not to say that the one's at this Mo-6 weren't clean that's just what I do. The bed wasn't really comfortable but again this was Mo-6 not the Ritz Carlton lol! The staff was really nice and helpful. The guy who checked me in was fantastic superb customer service. I stayed two nights at this hotel on a work trip. My room was in the very back of the hotel which isn't a problem but there were a lot of sketchy people hanging around all hours of the night. That's not necessarily the hotels problem though I guess. There are a few reasons I'm rating this hotel 2 stars. 1: My room is a non smoking room and I think the rooms beside me are as well but the whole room smelled of smoke. Very intensely. It was the in the air not just the bed. 2: The floor of my room turned my feet black with dirt. It looked like it had been swept but not mopped. It was like a thick black layer on my feet too but just a light coating. 3: I don't trust the staff COVID precautions in this place. When I walked into the lobby to check in the lady wasn't wearing a mask at all. Then later the next day the housekeeping lady knocked on my door and she didn't have a mask on at all. I made sure the wipe down all the surfaces in my room with cleaner because I don't think this place is following the COVID guidelines posted on the Motel 6 website. As far as Motel 6 goes, this one was "fairly decent". Office staff was friendly, room was clean, and never heard anyone in the other nearby rooms even though the place was full. Other reviewers have said the rooms were dirty, sheets weren't clean, etc. This wasn't our experience. Sheets WERE clean, room was in good shape, bathroom was clean. Barhroom was in good shape and clean. We stayed in a smoking queen (wife smokes The Green), and while you could smell that it was a smoking room, it was NOT overwhelming. My main issues: 1) A/C was not working well. Temp cranked all the way down, only got "kinda cool" air. Had to sleep without blanket. 2) Very low counter in bathroom (I'm only 5'10) and very short toilet - one finds they are in a low squatting posture when sitting. Which DOES have benefits! (Think squatty-potty)! LOL More on bathroom: Good: Not only does water stay hot the whole time while showering, the water pressure is phenomenal!! Bad: The phenomenal water pressure! Step out of the spray to soap up, the high water pressure creates "negative air pressure" in the RV sized stall and sucks the curtain in so it wraps around you. Woah. One star is appropriate for this place. I've stayed at many Motel 6; four to be exact over the last couple of months. In all my day of Motel 6 loading, this one in Yreka is by far the dirtiest. Upon checking in my wife, and 23 month old son had been on the road for a few days, mainly camping, so we needed a bed and a hot shower pretty bad. The front desk staff where great. Both friendly, accommodating, and informative. We had our room assigned and planned on some R&R. The room appeared to be fine when we first walked in, after a closer inspection with a flash light as you would with a baby that is just walking in an unfamiliar place that's when we noticed the filth. Hard wood flooring had layers of dust in the corners of the walls, and under the beds. There was something spilled that was still wet, and stickey on the floor next to the night stand as well as down the side. A drop of blood on the floor by the dresser, and on the head board. The shower floor was discusting, and the shower ceiling had yellow drips coming off of it, and the shower curtain looked gross, and smelled sweaty. Behind the bathroom door was really dirty with dust, paint chips, and a burnt match. With all this, and after a tiring day my wife went to work cleaning. She cleaned that room for about an hour and a half. The bathroom faucet is loose, and sprays water all over the counter top, mirror, and floor if your not careful. After informing the front desk and showing them the pictures they apologized and offered too move us to another room, and suggested I email the photos to their manager. Which I intend on doing anyway. The next day during daylight hours, I was looking around outside, at a glance the property looks great, the lawn is green and mowed. At a closer look, there is trash, cigarette butts, and dog poop everywhere. Employees have no problem walking right past trash on the ground in front of them. The housekeeper that stopped by wasn't in uniform, the guy mowing the lawn, and had keys to a room next to ours who I assume was maintenance had no uniform either. The laundry facility was just ok one washer was broken, and was like pulling teeth trying to get my 1.75 back from the front desk. The front desk agent said that it's been broken for s while,and was surprised that nobody put an out of order sign on it yet. The dryers didn't dry throughly either. Overall experience was unexceptable, for our trouble we were offered a 10% discount. Not nearly enough on my eyes. When checking out we went to the manager for further resolution as advised by motel staff. The manager looked disheveled, and was unapologetic. She said we should have moved to another room. The whole place was dirty though. We didn't want to take a chance on moving to a room that was potentially even more dirty. read more

Stopped here on our way home from family trip. The staff was friendly and the rooms seemed clean. That was until a week later after we got home I found lice in my kids hair. Obviously the bedding wasn't clean or replaced. My kids did not go anywhere or see any friends that week that's why I know we got it from there. I absolutely dont like bugs in hair so I'm always checking my kids hair when I brush their hair. The pool lounge chairs were broken, broken toys and used towels everywhere at the pool. The maid seemed overwhelmed with the amount of rooms to clean. If you plan stopping here after a long drive and cheap rates, this is the place. Filthy dirty, and I'm not talking the floors... the walls had dirt and crud all over them, hairs on the table and vanity area, just seriously a filthy dirty room. No shampoo or conditioner is provided. Paper thin tiny towels large enough to dry a toddler at best. The bed was rock hard and awful. The only reason I'd give this place one star and the only reason I ended up staying here was because they accepted my four little dogs and the price was super cheap. I only paid like 54 dollars for one night. I recommend if traveling with pets ( other hotels don't accept pets, especially four!) but take your own pillow and bedding and make sure you have flip flops. This was WITHOUT Question THE WORST flophouse that I Have EVER had the Misfortune of staying at. When I walked into my room the First thing I noticed was the dust that had accumulated on the phone. Next was the Long black strand of hair on the bedspread. UGH! NATURALLY I pulled All the bed covering off, to check for bedbugs, at least that was clean and there were no bugs but upon sitting on the bed, to remove my shoes, I noticed more hair around the nightstand. This was by far the worst experience I've ever encountered at a Motel 6. Me, my wife, and 2 kids are moving across the country. We needed 2 beds on the ground floor. So we were forced to take a smoking room. Of course it smelled like an ash tray, but that's to be expected in a smoking room. We entered the room, and the first thing my daughter points out is the burn marks on both blankets. We had 1 full sized towel, and no soap. I went to the office and requested these items. I was given 2 hand towels and told this is all they have. And was directed to buy shampoo for 4 dollars from a vending machine. Ok. These things I can get over... But my mattress...It was probably bought used in the 1940s. My back already kind of hurt from the move. That mattress made it worse. Now it hurts to breathe... I heard walking on that floor/ceiling, banging and dropping things. I had to sleep with the restroom fan on and the TV on to drown out the noise. My friends and I decided to take a trip from L.A. To Washington and figured we couldn't make the long trip without a few rest stops in between. We chose motel 6 because of the fact that they're pet friendly and we have to huskies with us. When we got to the motel, we checked in, (receptionist was nice) and went straight to our rooms to rest from the 7 hour drive. As soon as we got there, this chick was falling over my friends car as if she was drunk (this isn't the motels fault...just awkward). Whatever , no biggie. The thing that really bothered me was that the screen to our room looked as if someone had taken it off before. This was an immediate red flag since the area already seemed sketchy to me. I didn't want to be so quick to jump to conclusions(even though I sorta already did) so I figured I'd just lock the window....again, no big deal. Plus, I had my laptop and other fancy electronics that I would be upset if someone took. As soon as we got in the room, i brought all my belongings inside checked out the room and then I noticed the two latches to the window were down , as if the window was locked. I tried to open the window and SURPRISE! I was able to open the window without any trouble. I called the front desk right away and the only solution they could give me was switching rooms - I didn't feel like I had to go to the trouble of doing all of that. I asked her if I could be provided with a window stopper or even a stick...something!! Again, she was really nice so I wasn't going to give her a hard time. She said she would call me back, so I said no problem and I waited for her call. When she called back she advised me that she called some manager and that the manager said the best thing they could do was move us. I was not too happy but I said ok, thanks and felt like I would just have to be on my toes and not leave anything in the room - it was for one night only , after all. I went to go get ice a few minutes after that and noticed there were quite a few rooms that had the screen bent or popping out from the sides. Personally, I don't feel safe and I shouldn't have to move from a room if I already moved all my stuff (I had quite a few bags). I have to give it one star but want to give the none. This place was the worse please we had ever stay . We were told pool closed at nine but there were loud adults and screaming kids well past ten thirty. Our neighbors were yelling and fighting,Could be all the pot I could smell. when we called down no answer .one room was dirty and one room you could barely get the door open and closed .We stoped to sleep to get to Washington there was no sleeping there . When I called corporate the property manager couldn't even call me .They did refund me one of the rooms. read more

Wow! I read the reviews for this hotel and thought to myself people can be a little "special" when judging but! I apologize they're completely right! We where here a max of 30min trying to accept the fact we needed a place to sleep in order to continue our road trip. We absolutely couldn't do it. We packed up and walked out! This is not a hotel this is a homeless shelter! People are actually living there. The room we had was very dirty! There where hairs everywhere, walls where all speckled with God knows what, bad oder, etc. The worst part was the "homeless people" arguing/screaming from one room to another. I'm not a person quick to judge and I'm very understanding and I gave this place a chance...it's not worth it. Go to a Best Western and pay a little extra. Nothing is better than a safe good sleep. read more

Rooms were absolutely DISGUSTING. In fact that's an understatement. A homeless person knocked on my door asking to use my phone. My sheets were not clean AT ALL there was red marks from chips and crumbs all over and that's not all. Multiple strands of Pubic hair all over on the sheets and The towels used to shower. And this was after we requested to switch rooms due to their being a toxic aroma of cigarettes and several burn holes on our blanket in the first room. I would Not suggest this hotel to ANYONE. Sketchy people, farthest thing from sanitary. When I mentioned the cigarette holes to the front desk one of the workers willingly admitted she knew they were there. Im so disappointed in the up keep of this hotel. Even worse I already bought 2 nights and can't get a refund because it's against their "policy" not matter how disgusting they keep this place. Please everyone don't make the same mistake I did I wouldn't wish this upon any worst enemy. read more

I stayed here with my two dogs on a long haul drive from Oak Harbor, WA. I walked in, bleary eyes at 10:30pm and was greeted by a kind woman who checked me in. The room was clean and utilitarian. The bed was comfy, the TV and climate control worked, and the bathroom was very clean. I felt very safe on this property as a woman traveling alone. Right outside my room was a very cute and clean pool. All Motel 6 properties are dog friendly, allowing two dogs up to 50 pounds for no extra charge. This dog friendly attitude is why my family stays frequently at Motel 6 properties. I would stay here again! read more

Wow, I cannot believe the accommodations I received for only $45.00. The room was very nice and modern. I suspect that they were renovated within the past five to ten years. There was a even nice 32" Lg wall-mounted, flat-screen television. Having stopped at this location during a business trip, I was happy to find that there was a perfect little desk for me to work on. There was no mini refrigerator, but I did fine with a bucket of ice for keeping my beer cold. The lady at the front desk was very friendly, both on the phone and in person. I often travel for my work and find myself staying at places nearing twice the amount that I paid for this place. I can't say that any of them were any better. Only one negative comment. I paid $2.50 for wifi but the signal in my room was so weak that I was unable to use it. I' Despite this issue, I still will give this place five stars for its value and cleanliness. read more
