It is a clean safe feeling old school budget hotel , and seems to be almost the only hotel in downtown Buckley (Pagoda Extended Stay is the other, most of Buckey's hotels are clustered out at the I-64 Harper Road exit by Tamarack . The room has a modern TV with extensive channel options, a fridge and microwave, a small desk area. There is free coffee in the lobby. There are a few restaurants and bars within walking distance in downtown Beckley; but note that nothing downtown is open for breakfast so you either will have a long walk or will need to drive to breakfast (the closest places are a McDonalds and a Sheetz, not very exciting options. Tudor's Biscuit World is the next closest breakfast option, a better choice in my opinion) I stayed here just one night, there does not appear to be WiFi or at least no mention is made of it. The room lock requires an actual metal key (yes they still exist!). one issue was that my downstairs room (meaning literally downstairs from the parking area since the hotel is built on a steep hill/ravine edge) kinda smelled like mildew, I don't know if melt from heavy snow had just flooded the carpet or what the deal was with that. read more
