I think the sales guys (2 of them) were pushy. They arrived one hour early, each in unmarked vehicles. Otherwise they were friendly. They left us with no business cards or contact info which was not user friendly. We decided not to go with the job estimate, cancelled the job and got my downpayment check back in the mail. I wish they had a better way to cancel the job. You have 3 days to cancel but in order to cancel it you either mail it or hand deliver. I don't trust the mail getting it there on time, so I drove 5 miles and hand delivered it. Email would have been way better. read more

At 10:04 am this morning we get a call from an unstable employee of theirs, and they left a voicemail whispering the same phrase "get insurance, get insurance, get insurance." if I could choose 0 stars I would! a couple years later the results of their work are trash... It was also trash right after finishing. they have third-party people come out and do the work for them so there is no care how the end results look. our eves on the house and garage fascia are rippled... we have sharp points on every corner... because it was so cold there was globs of caulking used. There wasn't a single space where the caulking was actually smooth. Their kick outs consist of a piece of metal folded and caulked to the roof. It is not an actual kick out. they are extremely pushy with their sales tactics... don't fall for their discount offered on site like we did... we wanted the work done in the spring and and very clearly discussed this with the sales team, I got a phone call in January saying that they were having the materials delivered and would start work on Monday. It was the coldest week of the year. when I said no, they told me they had people who needed work and they had to get the materials out of their warehouse. I had no choice in the timing of the project.... they incorrectly quoted the job, they needed more money for more plywood... they had significantly over estimated the materials shipped to the house,(which we paid for) and when the project was finished, they took it all back with them... (and we didn't receive a reimbursement) they disconnected all lines including electrical from our home with out excel energy and then refused to help get the lines reconnected which was thousands more had to be done by a licensed contractor and up to code, with excel energy involve. when I asked about this during the quote we were told " we'll deal with that when the time comes". when discussing our issues with the work completed, we were brushed off and told we signed a contract. overall terrible experience. terrible company. no care in how they leave homes or customers. would not recommend! read more

I've hired Budget Exteriors to do several jobs on my home. At one time they used a window-installation crew to do my siding, and they made several mistakes against code. The company did come out and fix the issue once called out on it, and the rest of the work has been fine. The worst part about the company is their sales team. They call me at least once a quarter even though I've been telling them for years to never call me again. This is a spam company. They made all sorts of confident lies about having experience experts check my house to give me a quote. And when the "professional" came, David Gillis, he came confused on what his assignment was and claimed that he couldn't check the walls and only the attic. And then he claimed the my empty walls were already insulated, so I decided not to let him into my house and bid him good day. His demeanor was off-putting as he tried to argue his way into my house. He wouldnt give until my daughter showed up behind me. He then asked for his business card back, which I refused. After he left I immediately checked Yelp for reviews (as I should have done) and found this dismissal ranking business is a spam company. I called the company to file a complaint and to see what happened? And they tried to forward me to thier "marketing manager" (why is it not costumer service??) And then and after being put on hold they claimed he wasn't there and that I would be forward to their voice mail. I said good buy. The 1st guy was respectful but then he called his boss Lou to join. Lou continued to slash his prices in an attempt to have us sign a contract same day AFTER we told him we wouldn't. His pitch was very aggressive! They refused to leave ANY of the paper bids he quoted. He seemed a bit angry with his refusal. They left after having us sign a small piece of paper saying we declined their lowest price & said they'd mail us a professional bid. THEY NEVER MAILED US ANYTHING! It's been over 3 wks! This company continues to hammer my phone with unwanted telemarketing calls. I am on the Federal Do Not Call Registry, and they do not respect that. Although I have never done business with them, this is a big Red Flag. No reputable company would continue to hammer your phone number with multiple unwanted scam calls, especially when you have told them multiple times to stop calling. When we mentioned that we were just hoping to get an idea of the cost and would not be agreeing to any work today, he got very aggressive and told us we should've used google instead. This all after their door to door guy came by saying they would do any quote no matter the amount of interest in doing the actual work. We have been trying to do business with budget exteriors for the last two years. My wife is an administrative assistant and I used to sell vinyl windows and siding back in the 90s for Twin City storm sash. We were hoping to get some work with them when they were opening this new store. Over the last two years I've called a half a dozen times stopped by a half a dozen times and they're always been closed or no one answers. About six months ago we actually had someone come and give us a bid for windows on our house and the bid wasn't bad we told him we think about it. He said that would be great and he'd call back the beginning of next week like I said that was six months ago and we still haven't heard from him. My wife and I stopped in there today to find out about getting some retro foam done. The lady at the desk was nice but obviously inexperienced. She went and got a young man from the back who obviously just got a job there. Not wanting to put down people from trailer parks but this guy was something else. Very cocky, very rude, very unhelpful. I believe he thought we were people other than who we were. Talking about our political stance. My wife and I both tried to explain that we have tried calling several times and never got any response and he was just incredibly rude and was yelling at us as we were leaving the building while there were other customers in there. I'm a businessman in this area and I could not in good conscience ever recommending anyone doing business with budget exteriors. There are other local reputable businesses to do business with. Since this is a new business in the area I was hoping to help them get started here and maybe hire on some local people. But at this point I would prefer that they close the doors and go back to the cities. read more

I hired these idiots to side my house. On the first day my doorbell kept going off so I went to see if they needed something. I open my door to see a little boy (looked 10 or 11) standing on a ladder tearing my siding off. His mommy was on another ladder next to him. If you speak Spanish it would help. Not one of the crew spoke a single word of English. The general manager and his sidekick were out to look at things that are clearly done wrong. When I complained that I couldn't communicate with the crew and both contacts I had would return calls at the end of day or next day he called me a racist. The store in Nevis MN displayed far too many Trump flags and banners and electronic signs long before the election...and then kept them up after the election, but doubled the number. It's a ridiculous display that's a slap in the face of anybody who didn't vote for Trump. In fact, we heard that a guy was shopping for siding but when they discovered that he's a Democrat, they refused to sell him anything. I know I should write a long, detailed review; you folks deserve to know. But, just thinking about Budget Exteriors makes me sick to my stomach. I'll summarize. It started with lies, and proceeded to them installing something that was NOT what the sales guy sold us. The bumble-fest continued with hideous workmanship that was halted part-way through due to the worsening psychological breakdown (I'm not kidding) of the guy doing the work. Then more lies. More bad work. Promises to fix it... but not really. Now it seems that the management folks who shed crocodile tears for us no longer work there, and neither does the sales guy. Somehow, this is supposed to be relevant. Not even a year into it, parts of my hideously expensive kitchen upgrade are coming apart. We were prepared to issue yet another call for service to them, but got a tad sidetracked by our little boy having cancer. So, now they're all like "You're out of your ONE YEAR WARRANTY (huh?!) and need to pay cash money for fixing anything." I should have just lit a pile of money on fire. We'd be better off. read more

After being pressured with their sales pitch I signed a contract for them to do An insulation-job. A week after my wife received her surgery bill that was in the thousands do to having shitty Insurance we had to cancel our insulation job. I called budget Exteriors explaining our situation and told them we could do the job in the early spring. Less then a week later we received a certified letter saying we owe them $1,250.00 because we broke the contract. I told the manager we would still do the he job this spring but they still sent me this certified letter. scheduled an estimate and Lou was very personable and gave my 83-year-old mother an estimate for $30,000 to do house and detached garage (938 Sq/ft total) and soffit. stated they would do soffit, siding, flashing, wrap windows, doors. my mother stated it was too much. Lou stated first visit discount...26K sign today. mother said still too much. Lou stated $23K but would not do soffits on detached garage. Mother agreed but had to sign contract "RIGHT NOW". Despite Lou saying, "on garage no work on door or window wrap" Lou wrote "NO work on garage. No door or window wrap". When I contacted the company, which was difficult to get anyone to talk to, I was told too bad. you want to cancel? you pay 25% cancelation fee. otherwise, you are getting your 425 Sq/ft of siding for 23K. and we are not finishing the doors or windows. Just so you are aware this works out to about $52 per sq/ft for siding and the national average is $12 sq/ft. This is not the dealings of a reputable company. This company is exploiting the elderly, our most vulnerable population, for financial gain. If they are willing to do this, what else are they willing to do for profit? I've been getting estimates for re-roofing the house. Budget came out with tape measure in hand, asked how many squares (1 square = 100 square feet) are on the house and porch and came up - instantly after use of a calculator - with 50% over the highest bid I've had. They wanted over twice the amount of most other bids. They either don't want the work or figure I'm just an old dumb guy with deep pockets! This company charged my elderly grandfather 7500 for a roof on his 20×12ish shed. He could have had a new shed built for that. They completely preyed on, and took advantage of a sweet old man. Their moral code is non existent and I do not recommended this company to anyone! My uncle and father had to call the company and threaten to sue, etc to get the company to send a check of 1000 back, but even with that, they still waaaay over charged for mediocre work. I have never done business with this company, but the first time I was contacted by them they cold called me twice within the span of 2 hours. The first time they asked for my husband by first name. When I said he was at work, they asked "Is this the Mrs.?" I asked "Who is calling?" They promptly hung up on me. I tried calling the caller ID number back, but it was just a busy signal. I called my husband and he said he never even heard of the company. When they called back the second time, they again asked for my husband- "Is ******* available?" I again told them that he was at work and then asked them- "Where did you get this number anyway?" Again, they hung up. I tried calling the number back again and this time it rang about 5 times before someone on the other end picked up and hung up again. When I tried calling after that I was again met with a busy signal. What kind of company doesn't tell a person which company it is or how they got the number unless they have something to hide?!!? Since these initial calls, Budget Exteriors has continued to harass me with unwanted calls for years now. I have told them to stop calling because we are not interested and yet they call and call. I finally had to get a call blocker just so I don't have to deal with them calling me anymore. And yes, we are on the Do Not Call List and have been for years. read more

Worst company EVER!!! We had them install $13,000 worth of window that we were told were under a lifetime warrantee. Today, 12 years later, one of the window had leaked and frosted and 4 other window had the release tabs break. They wanted to charge me $150 for a service call and another bunch of money for the window replacement and new release tabs!! When I called them about this, they told me that the windows I had were under a 10 year warrantee. I told them I would have never bought the windows had I known that. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS!!! We had our roof replaced by them 10 years ago and have had nothing but issues. They ruined all our downspouts and said they did not. When trying to call about warranty issues a couple of years ago about leaking they were difficult to get a hold of. Phone calls were not returned, it got to the point where my husband would go to the business just to find a person. When trying to deal with them today about more leaking I was told they had to look at pictures from when they did the work so they could decide what the issue is, not actually come and look at the roof. I used this company to install insulation in my story and a half home in St. Louis Park, MN because I was having problems on the top level. After speaking with them I was promised that by putting foam insulation in the walls and tons of regular insulation in the upstairs I would see a vast improvement in the comfort of that living space. My first complaint would be that when they blew the foam insulation into the walls they obviously have to cut holes in the wall to gain access. I realize this and I was told this would be fixed when they were done and they kind of tried to fix the holes but they did a horrible job. After everything was done I waited over a year to see how it was working and found out it did barely anything for the upstairs. After multiple calls I was finally able to get someone to tell me why the insulation wasn't helping the upstairs. It made perfect sense why it wasn't doing anything for the comfort of that space. Now I would have been fine with that answer had someone told me before the work started but of course they want to take your money so they tell you it will for sure help. Well it did not!! I noticed basically zero change in how the upstairs continues to heat up in the summer and is cold in the winter. I spent thousands of dollars to put insulation into a home that did nothing to help. If this company really cared about their customers they wouldn't sell you on something that isn't going to help what you're trying to fix. I told them I specifically wanted to fix the upstairs problem and they promised something they knew wouldn't help that problem. I will not be using this company for any reason in the future and I would discourage you to not use them as well. read more
