Layne came to our home and did an excellent job explaining the different rebate options, financing plans, and the entire insulation process. He made everything easy to understand and stress-free. Alexis and Tarik handled the actual work. They removed all of our old attic insulation, sealed any openings, and installed new insulation that helps repel mice and bugs. The next day, they returned to insulate the walls. They arrived on time, were respectful of our home and furnishings, and left everything clean when they were done. The owner came out, inspected, explained in detail what we needed and gave us a quote. He also offered that Xcel was offering a rebate for some of the work we needed down and they would file all the paperwork for it. He was on time, personable and professional and the bid was reasonable and fair. We had the work done and the crew that did the work was on time, efficient, did an excellent clean up after the work was done. They did file the rebate and we received it in the time Xcel said it would take to receive it. It's rare these days to find a business that is honest, timely and fair with respectful crews but Houle Insulation was all of that and more. I would HIGHLY recommend them and in all honesty I am a hard to please customer because I won't "settle" for less than I expect. These guys are good. Because they are good they are busy so just know it may take a little longer to get scheduled but the wait is worth it! We have noticed a huge difference this winter. Heating bills are down and the house feels warmer.

Energy Savers was contracted through Crossroad construction via the Minneapolis Airport Commision to top up the insulation in our walls. Instead of inserting the insulation into our walls, they negligently filled our entire return air duct system with insulation. It is an utter disaster. To compound this already dreadful situation, the owner of Energy Saver Insulation, Steven, has been totally absent. He has not returned any of my phone calls nor e-mails. He has dragged his feet filing a claim with his insurance company. In fact, he had no intention of filing this disaster, it was my insurance company that had to make initial contact. He is unprofessional and extremely negligent. Beware! I used the "Projects" feature in Yelp to get a few bids and AK was competitive. When I scheduled the appointment to have someone come to the house, they got me on the books for the next day. My wasp problem wasn't an emergency situation, but it was great to know they could come out fast if needed. The specialist they sent out was great and he explained what he was going to do and what the expected outcome was. Within 30 minutes, he'd finished up and was gone. I hope I don't need them again, but I'd hire AK again if ever there's another pest issue!
