The Worst Car Rental Experience Ever! Steer clear of this location if you can! I've had two experiences at this Budget rental location, and both were terrible. The first time, I waited over 2 hours to get my car. I tried to brush it off, knowing there were events and sports tournaments in town, and it was a busy day for them. When I finally got a car and drove to the exit gate, I was turned around and told I had to switch it for another one. This most recent experience was somehow even worse. I arrived around 2 a.m. after a delayed flight and had to pay to take my own Uber because, apparently, Budget doesn't run a shuttle at that hour, while every other rental company does. After waiting over an hour in line (with only one associate working), I was told there were no EVs available. Fine, no problem. But then they told me the only vehicle they had for me was a 15-passenger van. I'm a 5'1" woman, and I felt completely unsafe driving such a large vehicle. Unfortunately, it was late, I was exhausted, and I had to be up in just a few hours for my event, so I had no choice but to take it. The van smelled awful, drives poorly, and was clearly not properly maintained. This was, without a doubt, my worst experience with Budget. I'm beyond disappointed with their lack of accountability and unwillingness to honor reservations that were made well in advance. When renting from Budget, beware of clerks adding insurance to your charges, even if you declined. You sign in and are asked to "just sign here and here and here", and they slip in the insurance acceptance form. Then if you question the charge later, they show you the signed acceptance and deny any knowledge of your decline. This bs cost me and extra $700. I flew in from Texas and upon landing get a text from owner that location had ran out of Uber vehicle's so he thought he would save me the trip by informing me. The check out service was great at DIA, they quickly got us through a very long line and on our way in record time. Very friendly and professional. Drop off of the car went smoothly with no problems. The vehicle was really nice but had a couple of dings and dog hair in the back but we didn't complain. The trouble came a week after we dropped it off. We received a letter from Budget stating that the vehicle had excessive dirt and sand upon return and that they had to charge us $250 for cleaning! First of all, why didn't they tell us there was a problem when we dropped it off, second there was a very light amount of dirt on the floor of the driver's and passenger's seat... normal for any road trip. I called the number on the letter to get proof of the 'excessive dirt' and the agent looked up the photos and told me that there was only a small amount of sand which didn't qualify for extra cleaning. She stopped the charges for me which I was grateful for. I'm writing this review as a buyer beware... this rental agency will try to rip you off, call and ask for evidence, don't pay their bogus charges! read more

I have had an horrible experience with my rental since I've gotten it. After about 30 minutes of driving the Jeep Cherokee they gave me the computer stopped working so I couldn't do anything with the car but drive it. No radio, no wifi, no GPS. I spent 3 hours trying to get a replacement because they had to keep transferring me to different departments and often got sent to the wrong person or got disconnected. When I did finally get ahold of someone they were not able to help me and had no record of me calling any of the other times. Each time I called previously they said that they were recording my issues before they attempted to transfer me to someone who also couldn't help me. I essentially spent over 3 hours with no resolution and no record that I even tried. On top of that, after I found work arounds myself just to make the vehicle usable, I needed a couple of extra days as I was driving across country. They wanted to charge me $1000 for 3 extra days. Almost double my rental cost of the 12 days I originally scheduled. That is utterly ridiculous. Beware of this company. They do not seem to care about you once you have one of their cars. They also seem to want to rip you off if you need extra time with the vehicle. Never using this company again and will tell my employer of the experience so that they hopefully never will either. read more

I went to this store in shock yesterday after losing my life earnings to a group of shit heads that used a budget van in which one of the ladies replied "I can rent you one of those " After seeing a photo on my phone. The bus ride from the airport was horrible. First, they shut the doors on a woman and almost drove away before her husband yelled that she was caught in the door. Then once the woman was released from the closed door, they took off before she was able to find a seat and sent her flying down the isle... no apologies. Next, the worker assisting with luggage, dropped multiple suitcases on my wife's feet. He also forgot to strap the standing luggage in, which immediately toppled over on other guests... still no assistance for that, the guests picked up the luggage and strapped it in properly. Unbelievable. Once we got to the service counter, the employees were great. Dropped the car off the next day at the Budget in Colorado Springs (Airport location) and the woman was horrible. I went to the location to pick up my car via taxi and $55 later, when I arrived at the location, the employees adviced me that "the cars available have been tested positive for covid" and they couldn't provide me with a car at all. Then I had to take a taxi again to go back and pay again. I'm very unsatisfied with this service. Picked up my rental 5/13/22 it went ok. I had paid $35.00 for rapid, curbside return. Something they offered that sounded like they drove you to your gate at the airport, instead of the Shuttle. On returning the vehicle I couldn't see a "special sign" for curbside drop off. What I did see was a sign that said, returns. I had previously been prompted during checkout, to make sure someone saw my big sticker. I did show it to anyone who looked at me. I was told to drive forward on a line of cars. When we got pulled in, there were employees getting people checked in, out of their vehicles. Except us, we just were ignored, for almost an hour. Tired of waiting I got out, and flagged down an employee, who looked at my paperwork, and then said wait a second. Finally a young Woman came over. After a minute of looking at my paperwork, she said "Sorry for your wait. Today we don't have any rapid drivers. I'll refund that charge, and give you $75.00 off for your trouble." Numerous email attempts, got 1 actual reply, Guy named Cory, acted like I should be happy to have gone to Budget. Stay away people, stay away. read more

Do NOT waste your time at this Budget location, they are unprofessional and the location is pretty dirty and has gnats flying around because of the excessive amount of plants. I walked in and said hello and one of the ladies said in a not so welcoming way "someone will be with you soon". I rented a car from Budget in Seattle from June 10 - 12. The car was fine; the service was fine. But it wasn't fine when I got a bill from them two weeks later claiming that my car had a strong smell of smoke when I returned it. They were charging me $450. I have never smoked; no one in the car smoked. I called to dispute the charge when they offered me a 50% discount on the $450 charge. I refused this offer and after a long delay, I was told the charge would not be levied. Much to my dismay, I was charged and I had to dispute it through my credit card. Not much of a budget..... The company's customer service is definitely not customer based! We would have talked to them at drop off but there wasn't a staff member in the lot! Ahhhh, Budget Truck Rental. The very name itself invokes thoughts of cheapness and incompetence. Sadly, they lived up to their name. It all started innocently enough: a plan to clear out a storage unit in a four-hour window. My girlfriend scheduled a truck online and got an email confirmation. So far, so good. But not so fast! Four hours later, one of their employees leaves a voicemail saying "oh, we don't ACTUALLY have any trucks for you. SORRY!" Well shit, who gives a confirmation number for something that isn't confirmed? Incompetent companies, that's who. Anyway it was still two days to move day so whatever. Just glad this didn't happen the day or morning of. We decided to go with U-Haul. Always an experience itself, but it worked out fine. The following week, my girlfriend notices a charge on her card from Budget. What? So she calls, and finds out this is a "no show fee". She explained that yes, of course we didn't "show", you guys cancelled on us. At this point she was schooled thusly: GF: "Why did you charge me money?" B: "Oh, you were charged a no show fee because you didn't show up!" GF: "That's because you cancelled on us" B: "But you didn't call back to confirm the cancellation" GF: "Why should we call you? You said you had a truck, but didn't, and cancelled our reservation." B: "Sorry, we don't solve problems here. We create them! Sounds like I better transfer you to corporate!" GF: "URRrrrrrghhhh...." **hold wait** B: "Hi, how can we make your day less miserable today?" GF: "You can refund my money" B: "Well, it seems you didn't show up for your rental" GF: "AAAAGGgggggg" Eventually, it was worked out and the refund processed. But come on, why should she need to deal with this hassle? Just... no. Absolutely the worst customer service!!! My husband and I were in Denver to elope and rented a vehicle for a week. We are from FL and unaware of how they classify their vehicles. The lady at the counter suggested a vehicle to me, which I said would be fine, but she did not indicate that this vehicle is considered an upgrade and my prepaid amount would only cover a fraction of what they would eventually charge me when I returned the vehicle. I was NEVER told there would be an additional charge per day for this vehicle. I feel that they were misleading when completing the reservation and should have disclosed to me the additional $20/per day I would be agreeing to. I attempted to contact customer service when I noticed the bill for an additional $120. They told me that I selected the upgrade and would not reverse the charge. I prepaid the entire amount so that I wouldn't have any additional charges, but they somehow managed to get another $120 out of me. I wish I could give ZERO stars!! Incredibly dishonest people. I rented two passenger vans for my wedding, and when I arrived to pick them up, I was told that there was only one van available. The person on duty - who was very unkind and unapologetic - told me that she'd tried "all day" to get in touch with me. I had zero missed phone calls, zero voice mails, and zero e-mails from anyone at Budget. No effort was made to get in contact with me. I showed up to pick up the one van and *hope* I could find enough friends who could carpool to get me to my wedding. Again, the person on duty was acerbic, unkind, and unapologetic about Budget's mistake. She acted as though it was my fault, when I'd placed the reservation almost a month in advance. Today I discovered that I was charged twice by Budget: once for both vans on July 12th, and again for the one - ineptly supplied - van that I picked up on the day of. So, not only was I treated poorly, and not given what I paid for, I was charged three times for the one van. If I hadn't been looking through the charges, I wouldn't have seen that I'd been ripped off. Never, ever go to this Budget location. They'll treat you poorly, fail to give you what you paid for, and then steal money from you. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service I've had in my adult life. read more

The people here are so clueless. First my reservation was incorrect and was missing my trailer to pull my car behind the truck (which may or may not have been the staffs fault but nevertheless they weren't helpful finding a solution). Then, the girl forgot to ask if we needed to buy anything else (even though the boxes we had picked out were right next to her) so we had to wait for the computers to process two separate orders. The staff was bickering with each other, cursing, and raising their voices in front of us and other customers. I had to remind them that I also had purchased blankets/padding with the truck. One of the men said they aren't in the truck? And had to go check, which of course they weren't there. Nobody between the three people helping us told us we needed a lock for the truck. I had no idea until my movers asked where my lock was! We wasted so much time there I was almost late for my movers arrival and still didn't get the trailer because the computers were so slow. The manager said I would have no problem getting one the next day in Colorado Springs. The next morning I went to the nearest location to pick up a trailer at 8am (when they opened) so I could be on the road to Texas by no later than 9am (about 3 hours later than I would have preferred to have left). Well the guy running that store wasn't cooperating and I ended up having to call this store in Denver and spoke to Cassie. She was the only person within Budget to even slightly show that she cared and empathized with my situation. She helped me locate a trailer 20 minutes away from where I was and I was able to go there and pay an amount I felt was unfair for all the trouble we had to go through, and head off to Texas finally at 11am. We didn't get to our destination until 2am thanks to all the difficulties we had to endure. read more

I reserved a car for June 20th and although there was a shortage of cars that day and a wait associated with waiting for cars to come in, the two agents were trying their best to be accommodating to everyone. One agent even assisted in going to the back to wash cars to try and speed up the process. I've dealt with Clark for many years and I always have had great experiences. As of late I have found that Clark retired and the new Manager Clark is an absolute nightmare. He's very rude and unprofessional to start with they forced me to upgrade from a compact car to a midsized SUV because they were limited on inventory then charged me for it, seriously I had to pay more because they didn't have the vehicle I requested even though I made my reservation months in advance. The front desk guy DeAndre is just as rude and is no help at all. Save yourself the headache Hertz is literally right down the street. I have always used Budget Rental Car and liked it. Not anymore. I will never use them again. When I arrived to pick up my car, they did not have a car in the class that I had prepaid for. I was given a smaller car. I agreed to it. After I returned the car, they added a charge on for something I did not request. If I had requested it, it should have been added on when I picked up the car. My biggest problem is there is NO customer service for Budget Rental Car. I have called several contact numbers. I waited on the phone for over an hour just to get cut off twice. I did get one representative that gave me a problem number and told me they would get back to me. Nothing. I have tried emailing Budget twice, but the customer service email posted is bogus. I also called the local office where I rented the car. No answer. Again, just a disconnect. Rented a car here for my trip in Denver. They had a nice Subaru Outback for me but the trunk would not open. Kind of need access for our luggage. Well that was the only car available they said and if I wanted I could call corporate. So being short on time we take the car and deal with it through the weekend. Upon returning the car I notified them immediately that I had to deal with this and it was an inconvenience. The attendant apologized then gave me my completed statement.
